  • Hi, I haven't posted here for a while, but after being informed of this issue, I was under the impression that it is a model problem, not a texture problem, afflicting the inverted normals issue. Furthermore, a community member has sent you a solution (namely to roll back the changes and fix a single file) not once, but…
  • Are you on Elite difficulty?
  • Helped him a bit on this, but it should be a solid TP/support-ish build (with his choice of flavor powers). I don't like bubbles that much (targeting), but in general, Mindful is more useful for things that shouldn't take damage but are (DPS, support), while Protection is for things that should take damage, and are (tanks).
  • The problem is moreso the items that are a) useful, and b) can't stack: Triumphant Recoveries (I literally have a few pages of these). Servitor Serums (same) Anything ending with "4-pack" (unbound) Permanent devices Healing patches (stacks, but at some low number) Special event consumables (in general) Fix those and my…
  • I like market-based solutions: my suggestion, which I'll post later with some analysis, will involve normalizing the drop rates on an hourly basis. Simply speaking, any rampage that drops less than X tokens an hour will have a stacking percentage chance applied to it, increasing the drop rate, per hour, and vice versa. The…
  • Beastial here. You'll usually find me doing this (in game, as well as in RL). Besides that, I calculate silly numbers, and occasionally play the game.
  • TL;DR: TKA seems to work properly, but the ego leech bonus appears to be double that of the tooltip (6% vs 3%). Tested with the help of some clever automation. No puny unreliable humans. :) Character base crit rate: 27.4% Rotation 1: Build ego leech to 5, then loop: - TKA, 3 seconds - Pause, 500 ms Stack count was manually…
  • Unless ... the critical chance isn't scaling properly throughout the maintain. Now wouldn't that be a bug ... Also using a quick binomial calculator, I calculate the chance of getting N ego leech stacks over 6 seconds (from both TKA (20%, full maintain) and Ego Infusion (1 stack/2 seconds)) to be: 3 13% 4 30% 5…
  • Have been following this thread from the sidelines with interest. Not surprising, because from the tooltip, Chance to critically hit with this power is increase for each stack of Ego Leech you have. (And it's 3% crit/stack). 46%+15% = 61%, which is a lot closer to 66%... Sigh that Upper Hand wouldn't work here ... or does…
  • Thankfully this is not a concern because damage reported in combat logs is flagged as dodge/block/critical, eliminating the need to do any pre-filtering. I will say though that these experiments over the past few weeks are making their way into a few respecs for my builds. Incremental improvement is the name of the game…
  • Generally, no you won't need an EU. Statting some END will help though. The return from Unstoppable/Enrage is very spiky. If thematic, could add Force Shield to further negate remaining energy issues.
  • As of 1/11/2015, Brush it Off does not appear to be working. Test conditions: - DEX: 2/2 brush it off - Base dodge chance: 10% - Optionally: Elusive 2/2 (Warden) was taken to verify that certain attacks are tagged correctly as AOE. - Defense: 26% + Regen (health stayed at 100%, so assume 30%). - Test location: Westside…
  • That observation was what inspired me to test this in the first place. Also, to prove you wrong about something  ... All kidding aside, at least it does something. Guess DEX and Brush it off will be next.
  • Hi there. I believe we've talked a bit. Part of the issue, if I understand, is that the OP needs to define what role he feels comfortable playing in, and to what extent characters need to survive, well, content. Outside of eating retcon costs, I'd like to point to the PTS; specifically the cosmics on there as well…
  • If copying a character pre PTS-patch with the costume unlocked, the costume option doesn't appear in the PTS. Try copying a character now, after the PTS patch. (Mentioned this bug to kaiserin, but it's not really a bug, just how costumes are set up on PTS).
  • There are a few dodge guides available. In general though: - CON PSS / deflection - R3 Thundering Kicks and Crashing Wave Kick w/ adv - Legion's BP of Elusiveness + R7 Gambler's or above - As much DEX as you can afford.
  • Elusive from Warden stacks in the block layer. Basic damage formula: Damage taken = Base damage*1/(1+%defense bonuses)*1/(1+%block bonuses) Character: 113% defense, no passive, Warden 2/2 Elusive, base block (200%). Underlined number is base damage, underlined number in parentheses is damage recorded. Fireball throw (ST):…
  • By the binomial distribution, P(X >= 1) = 0.6339... The probability that you'll get one or more of the item, with a 1% drop chance, in 100 boxes is about 63%. And that's your 15 seconds of statistics for today.
  • PTS copy: http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=163941 Hm, should add that link too to my sig.
  • Regarding Exploit Opening (EO): I thought of an interesting discussion involving Bernoulli trials, infinite series, markov chains, etc, but really it's not relevant, and the math part of my brain isn't working right now. Still, in summary: * The formula on selphea's calculator page is correct. * EO can be an option instead…
  • Selphea's damage calculator (which is linked not as often as I expect) takes parameters like these into account. Any other parameters can be derived in game and/or with the Character Sheet in my sig ... since I haven't received any complaints, I assume it's reasonably accurate at this point.
  • I observe basically the exact same thing with my Dex/DUC using characters with ego powers (that basically sums to ... Mental Storm with a side of Ego Sleep). Oh, and sent you something on the PTS servers. Could be helpful. :)
  • "One (wo)man's fixed price is another's arbitrage opportunity."
  • This was answered earlier. In the end, if you do the math; nope. PS Note that you'll want to grab +Severity instead of +Crit gear, though for the primary.
  • Oh right, an enrage builder. Yes, could be a concern, but as you said rotating a knock power isn't that difficult.
  • Shuriken Storm w/ adv seems like the best fit here, if it works with theme. You have MA, so...
  • The Ridiculously Random RenCen Road Show - how many do you recognize?
  • A stipulation should probably be made for mission/quest-related devices. Entire missions chains are otherwise uncompletable (in fact I don't know if the tutorial is doable without), which I don't think is the point here.
  • Was going to invite you, but looks like you're already invited. Welcome!
  • So ... something like this? Did this in a hurry, from the incompleteness. I think there's only one power in there that requires the character to actually move his arms, aside from the block. (Does bionic shielding have an anim?) PowerHouse (Link to this build) Name: Move, I will not Archetype: Freeform Super Stats: Level…
  • Not much at all: Beastial has brought justice for 25 days, 6 hours, 57 minutes, 50 seconds. Penumbra has brought justice for 9 days, 17 hours, 34 minutes, 0 seconds. Xyr'nor'vala has brought justice for 5 days, 16 hours, 22 minutes, 44 seconds. Elcaryn Ebonwing has brought justice for 5 days, 6 hours, 37 minutes, 43…

  • After doing some math in my head: * Running in support/hybrid is probably most optimal. * CON or PRE primary is probably a good choice. STR is comparatively weak in this situation. The 3rd stat should be STR or EGO, because of high damage % scaling given that you'll never hit DR, and the softcap is at 70. * Given the…
  • I wanted to link to a couple of previous posts that discuss this very topic. (there are more, but I got tired linking). My specific posts on LI (2, out of a few dozen): http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=4442111&postcount=21 http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=4466191&postcount=48 For concrete…
  • Actually, DPS (color me surprised). Tank: 37 Support: 44 DPS: 76 One of the DPSes is somewhat support-y (SM), but still. That is my (somewhat counterintuitive) conclusion from a lot of this data analysis. Maybe I should run support more often ... :p I'm definitely able to keep up an AOPM tank (for instance) up without much…
  • To address this. The results were .. not what I expected. For the Y-axis, this number is Healing (Inc) from ACT, divided by duration. I excluded sentinel mastery healing for all tanks. Having it in or not doesn't appear to make that much of a difference. Yeah, the variance is huge. But what this suggests to me is that…
  • This sometimes comes up for unknown reasons (also with Armadillo set bonuses, and such). Try: 1. Discarding the "bonus" item or storing it somewhere else 2. Removing all gear from the character 3. Log off, and back on 4. Re-equipping gear. That should fix any problems.
  • Or we just build similarly these days. That's probably a good thing.
  • Assuming you want to fight Ao ASAP (level 20): PowerHouse (Link to this build) Name: Archetype: Freeform Super Stats: Level 6: Ego (Primary) Level 10: Constitution (Secondary) Level 15: Recovery (Secondary) Talents: Level 1: The Scourge Level 6: Wordly Level 9: Ascetic Level 12: Quick Recovery Level 15: Paramilitary…
  • Categorical stats: Top: Success/fails of F&I over time, with average success rate. Bottom: Average duration of an encounter. Dotted: 10-period SMA (simple moving average).
  • Yes, I did leave out the HPS component. Would make it too complicated. Also considering damage debuffing, etc. As far as mechanics such as sniper rifle or "stealth-tanks" ... I'd rather leave them out of the discussion for the moment. As far as the sample composition: about 50/50 premades/pug. I've tended to do more PUGs…
  • One thing: the justice set bonuses add a lot to survivability in a -idcator loop. Deriving the values, the offense bonus adds approximately a Legion's Defense + 1 Impact prism 5 worth of defense to a build, for free. This is enough to pull offense-y and heal-y builds ahead (DEX and PRE) in terms of balanced performance.
  • Same data, but sorted by graph 1. The trend should be obvious.
  • To ELI5: 1. Lots of blue - your tank done good. Lots of colors - your tank sucks. 2. If your tank takes less than 864 DPS, you're "better than average". Hooray. How good of a tank are you depends on how much threat you generate (graph 1) as well as how much damage you soak (graph 2). Not either, both.
  • Since this question came up during an F&I PUG: 1st graph: PCT of DPS, after resistances (EncDPS), taken by each player from Frozen Daggers, ordered by decreasing amounts of damage taken (blue/orange/gray/yellow/etc) 2nd graph: Amount of DPS taken, as in 1. Processing this data was ... complicated ... so there may be some…
