  • Agree with this. If you find yourself in a situation where you can't attack an enemy, try to think more tactically than "Fire faster!" Tell your boffs to hold position and you run to flank them. Throw a grenade of a targeted AoE. Use buffs to boost your defense and charge them. Use an ability to stun them or pull them out…
  • This looks to be part of your build, which someone else already covered. Another thing to consider when fighting the big D is that you have to think a bit more about your positioning. Try to stay on it's aft quarter and it can't hit you with anything worth worrying about. IT will take awhile. it is a big ship, but…
  • For the last time.... Taking the game offline won;t allow them to fix the server faster. During the week, the devs and coders are busy trying to fix the bugs on their own Dev server. Every Thursday, they make a list of the changes, and then port them over to Holodeck. Taking the sever offline for an extend period of time…
  • No need for this. Command is a specialization, and works as intended. It is an extra boost to push you from basic line play into more specialized play. IF you want pets, get a carrier. That is one of the really really cool things about this game. Any class can go in any direction they want. Don't pigeon hole me.
  • This!!! It's really not the hard anyways. And personally, I fiddle with my powers off the presets in order to get the most bang for my buck. Also, for science vessels, shouldn't it be more power devoted to Aux rather than weapons.
  • Alot of the older mission content is still text only, with the occasional break for guest start, Denise Crosby in the Romulan Mission arc. After Borg, though, most of them have voice acting for most of it. All the new Feature episodes from Sphere of Influence onwards has voice acting of major STO characters and guest stars…
  • I will refer to a previous thread I started. Best way to win at STO? JUST HAVE FUN! The T6 powers are cool, but in no means mandatory for content. Kilo for Kilo, some T5U ships have better stats then the equivalently T6 ship. Better hull, better console and boff layout. So a solid T5U build will beat out out a sloppy T6…
  • My name is Jolson Faln, and i approve this message.
  • I agree. A full fledged space station, and the only medic is camped out in the cargo bay? lame. Garrek's old tailor shop under local management. Odo's old office. The Sickbay. All nice additions to me made, I think.
  • The thing about upgrades is that you do it SLOWLY! No need to power through it. Level up your crafting to at least 10. Team up with friends to trade upgrades. Do a little a day. It should be a marathon, not a sprint.
  • My two cents? Personally? As an RPer, I dont ERP. It's tacky and kinda weird for my taste. Also, this game is for Teens, therefor possibly minors, therefore, there is a possible very serious legal implications about it as well. What I do instead? Tactful Fade to black. If you can another character is ready to "engage",…
  • Have to join the fun now! One more time Just one more mom! This is addicting Last one I swear Damn it
  • Again, I echo the general statement about this move mirroring the fleet ship upgrades. You can get a basic C-Store Ship And then you can upgrade it for some additional zen. This is the exact same process they are using now. It also will keep a majority of the ships at endgame still viable and the diversity up. But it won't…
  • Offense totally taken... These fleet level events are open to ALL levels of captains, not just endgame. Thus, sometimes all a player has available to enter these events ARE T1 and T2 ships... Everyone has a starting point. And sometimes that starting points means getting into queues early so you can start grinding up…
  • I would actually LIKE a proper Warzone with PvP teams and objectives you feel compelled to complete. One Warzone where it is just a persistent PvP rolling battle would be nice. Some of the greatest moments I have had in STO was when me and an enemy start fighting each other, and we both call in our fleet mates and we have…
  • I definitely agree that David would be a major part of the Pain. One thing that irked me in Generations was the fact that Kirk's fiancee was "Antonia" and not Carol Marcus. It's not MUCH, because Kirk and Marcus could have had a one-night stand that happened to end up with a pregnancy. But the interaction in Wrath of Khan…
  • I would love to have the Four Founding races of the Federation all have their unique homeworlds with fully functional hubs (Bank, Exchange, vendors.. etc.) and a unique mission, minigame side quest thing that can ONLY be done there. Keep the TW hub to Earth, and maybe add a speical transwarp option for species specific…
  • Signed and shared. Thanks for the link!
  • I am personally baffled that we are in a sci fi game and refuse to accept that ships cannot go back in time... Except.. you know, there is an entire anthology of time travel episodes Plus the entire plot of The Voyage Home Several time the Enterprise has Traveled back in time, both By external factors and accidentally, As…
  • First of all, taking major offense to such a minor social fubar suggest that you have very little else to argue against them. Since we have no way of discerning your gender besides you us actually telling us, we have to make a guess. Since gender is (mostly) binary, we generally make one of two choices: -Make an educated…
  • This has been posted in a different thread, but now this is official. STO suffers from the Dog fighting idea that ships need to explode quickly. When, in terms of the RP, this simply did not happen. Combat was long and drawn out and the victory usually was the one who didn't ruin away. Also, ships became damaged during…
  • Necro thread warning... But I've been thinking about this mechanic, and i think it might actually SAVE PvP... Hear me out. With this system, you would have three ways to defeat another player in combat. All of them balanced. DPSers= Shoot it until it is dead. Debuffers= overwhelm a target with debuffs and injuries until…
  • After you pay to evade someone, you cannot be incepted for another 15 minutes. Again, the timer is just a mock up, it could be an hour or a day. This will prevent stalking behavior. Same thing after the fight, everyone goes into cooldown and cannot fight again for an hour.
  • And this is way I am not a dev. An Opt in out system would be added to the menu where you can tick it off if you are adverse to PvP in general. However, I also thought that I made it clear that you can negotiate your way out of a fight, as in, use diplomacy to defuse a situation. No fighting, no paying dil. You use…
  • When you convert them, they are placed the new R&D tab in your inventory. The new materials are no longer part of your standard inventory.
  • My name is Adm. Jolson Faln, and I Approve this message.
  • Really.. that's it? You mean a game is there to ENJOY?!?! *picks up pieces of his blown mind off the floor*
  • This is actually a really cool idea. I've always been a bit distressed on how on ground you are "disabled" and in space, you are vaporized by a warp core breach. I've had a similar suggestion earlier on, but this idea is actually cleaner.
  • I am actually enjoying it. The reduction in healing on a target is nothing to sneeze at. The toggle aspect gives me more control over it, allowing me to focus on healing an ally while the analysis ticks off on the target. The UI graphic is inconsistent and needs some work, but the idea behind the arrow is also a welcome…
  • The Account Bank for Refined Dil has been suggested several times over. The Community agrees that this would be a very simple and effective means of raising the quality of life within the game. As for the character dilthium bank... there is no need to. Your wallet has an infinite capacity. If you don't want to spend it..…
