Command as a Real Class?

I think Command and the Command ships could be so much bigger, and it presents a opportunity to perhaps introduce Advanced Classes if not just a regular Class.

Command is crying out to be made a Pet Class, where the power isnt in the players hands but rather in summoning NPC Ships and People, IE a full on Tactical Security Pets or even a Hazard Team and in space summoning additional ships perhaps at a tier lower to fight on your behalf.

I think it could be alot of fun having a pet class in STO and able to utilize skills akin to Security Escort and Distress Call.

    They already introduced advanced classes. That's what the spec trees are. And you can swap from one tree to another virtually on the fly.

    Pet classes already exist. They're called Carriers.

    Thats not a class, thats a ship any class can use.

    No need for this. Command is a specialization, and works as intended. It is an extra boost to push you from basic line play into more specialized play.

    IF you want pets, get a carrier. That is one of the really really cool things about this game. Any class can go in any direction they want. Don't pigeon hole me.

    There were rumours before delta grinding lumbered in that we'd be able to create mini fleets by assigning boffs to other ships in our roster.

    The term command ship kind of makes me think that this was one direction they were heading in with an extra ship being added each tier or x number of points. Although if you're not a grindaholic then you'd never really get to use a mini fleet.

    Perhaps this is still in the wings and they just haven't figured out a way to monetize it.
