What species here do you think we should see further developed? I don't mean as a playable species, but to find out more about their race? Their history, traits, stuff like that?
I would like to see more development of the ferengi
I will like to see the Andorian Homeworld dev. I suggest the Capital city must be underground ofc, power bye undergrad lava ore volcano (thermal energy). We have seen a lite of the Aenar City in the Enterprise.
Because I would love to learn more in-depth background about the Breen, Caitians, Tholians and Tellarites in particular. But if STO was to explore those species it would a) be their interpretation (as in not official anyways) and b) I unfortunately don't expect much from STO writing staff at the moment. And I don't mean to sound rude, it's just a matter of personal taste - I think there is not a single piece of STO lore that I like or consider plausible with all the established background this game should draw inspiration off.

Fed side I would really like the Ferengi to be a little more developed, but the KDF side has a lot more potential story with the Orions and Gorn rather than having them as generic bad guys.
Right now the Gorn are portrayed as Brutes and their science philosophies are pretty much ignored.

Although not the biggest fan of the KDF side of the game, I think the Gorn would be the species to develop. As territorial as they are, I don't think Klingon rule would suit them long. We know that there is conflict between the Hegemony and Klingons even now.

Agreed. In fact fleshing out the KDF member races in general would be a better use of the devs' time than validating VOY's habitual nonsense.

I assume by "Alpha Quadrant" you actually mean Alpha and Beta Quadrants. . . ?
I've wanted to do something with the four Federation founding races for a while. Clean up Vulcan and Andoria, add Tellar Prime, maybe tack something onto SFA, and have a mission that leads you between worlds to learn about the founding of the Federation.
Still want to do Ferenginar as well.
Edit: I'll second Anazonda's suggestion on the Pakleds. I love those guys. Probably won't happen though, cuz Geko hates them.

Yes, those in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
I'd love Vulcan and Andoria to be more... than just go and look, but not learn much. Tellar prime would be awesome... a planet full of people insulting you!

For what it's worth, this would have my full support. I'd also like to see Memory Alpha make a return, possibly as a lore hub. There's so much backstory the general player doesn't have access to.
Andorians and Betazoids, since both are playable races that got a little bit of focus in one series each but still have a lot more room for cultural development. We have a general attitude for both but there has to be more than Ushaan and naked weddings to the specifics.

Love this idea, and Agree with Geko. Pakled's can fall off the Trek canon for all I care :P

Any plans about following up some species affiliated with Klingons and Romulans? Or are we only allwoed to dream the Federation's dream? :P

That'd be awesome, Taco. I'd love to see Andoria, Vulcan and Tellar Prime cleaned up and having the level of openness and scenic or iconic spots in the way that Vulcan does currently. Same with San Francisco, Luna or Mars. It helps sell that sense that this is the 25th Century and another planet.
Edit: I'll second Anazonda's suggestion on the Pakleds. I love those guys. Probably won't happen though, cuz Geko hates them.
The Pakled Education and Cultural Exchange is where Starfleet sends officers who steal Quinn's coffee, park in his spot, almost run over his dog, or scratch the paint on ESD.
The Ferengi, definitely. Perhaps added as a mini-faction, but with a heavy focus on obtaining profit and such, with other faction's ships being acquired through trade (obviously favouring ourselves). They've butchered the Romulans and will no doubt do the same to the Cardassians, at least it makes sense the Ferengi "acquiring" rival star ships.
Plus, the advantage is that the Ferengi Alliance is in a nice position to add to the game. If you look at the in-game map, it is the coloured splodge coming out of the right hand side of the Raveh Sector. They could expand the existing Orellius Sector Block to a 2x2 block (rather than adding yet another sector block which isn't going to help any sort of merger in future).
I'd also like Earth to get a new zone added to it so we can go on a holy pilgrimage to Wall Street.
the 4 founding worlds need some love, I would love solar systems, Mars and Jupiter have both had fairly importiant roles in the history of trek. I'd love to see a trill home world!
I would love to have the Four Founding races of the Federation all have their unique homeworlds with fully functional hubs (Bank, Exchange, vendors.. etc.) and a unique mission, minigame side quest thing that can ONLY be done there.
Keep the TW hub to Earth, and maybe add a speical transwarp option for species specific ships, Like Andorian Escorts can TW to Andoria, Vulcan Science vessels can TW to Vulcan orbit.
Also, doing this for the major races on the Klingon side would be awesome as well. Seeing Gonar and the Orion homeworlds. As well as the others.

Actually... what do we know about them? Canon sources say little. Other than that they're around... somewhere.
This is exactly why I think we need more. Cryptic went to a lot of effort to design and include them, though since LoR launched, they've seemingly been pushed aside. They've got so much potential, not only as an enemy of the player, but also in the anti-hero role, or as an enemy of my enemy type role.

Sounds like a good idea, specifically in an early FED mission.
The orions. More specifically, the ones that AREN'T part of the orion syndicate. They have an old, rich and frankly fascinating history, and the game treats them as nothing more than slavers and pirates that hate clothes. All the KDF races need more love, but the orions are at the top of my list.

Aye, it would be nice to see a lot more of the KDF territories. Ships, new hubs, mission opportunities... lot of options. I'd even prefer this over Delta quadrant because I was never a big Voyager fan. Btw, where is Trill, Betazed, etc.? Would be nice to see at least the core Federation worlds added as well as a hub or something else. Hopefully we'll see that coming too in the future .
...I think adding Ferenginar has a lot more potential. I could totally see a comedy FE centered on the Ferengi. It would be a really nice break from the seriousness of the storyline.
I guess the Ferengi (although in a game like this, that may be a bit boring) and the Andorians. Both have become very well known races in the franchise who are aren't focused on all that much in STO.

The game implies some pretty fascinating things about Orion Syndicate gender politics (mainly that its not as cut and dry matriarchal as Enterprise said and that there is still some sort of ongoing war between the sexes) and it'd be interesting to explore the non-Syndicate part of the species and see how the gender dynamic plays out without the slave trade.
Are they historically matriarchal and there's some class fixture in play as to who has to be a slave girl and who can rise up to be a matron, or are they historically patriarchal and some of the women in the Syndicate figured out how to seize power?

All the charts I've seen put Trill on a line between Deep Space 9 and Sol, while Betazed is southwest of Risa in the next sector over.

that would be nice but they shoot at us on sight...
Right now the Gorn are portrayed as Brutes and their science philosophies are pretty much ignored.
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
well, they... throw rocks...
Some previous games had them as refugees from Andromeda, but... that's a pretty awkward origin for them.
My character Tsin'xing
Well, STO established that they are a transdimensional Empire

Terrans. There's not nearly enough done with them.

We know (thanks to DS9) that the Federation has a Tholian Ambassador. They have, at one point, spoken to each other without their weapons.

Starfleet Command I believe? I'd rather them not take this route though.
