Hmm. I am on the fence about this. On the one hand it looks like this system will have choices and consequences. So it's not so simple to have massive damage and be able to tank while you do it. Perhaps in time we could see the return of tank and support roles - pending gear of course, some of that stuff is so potent it'll…
So. We're all friends again now right? We've fought together, bled together, saved the known universe together. So why does that cheeky little traffic controller woman still talk down to my KDF Reman when I want to dock at DS9 - warning me not to cause trouble? I think by now she should learn proper manners - especially to…
I survived in the Badlands with an NX...mostly...so I personally doubt there is no such thing as a useless ship. There are ships, and slightly better ships. I mean c'mon, these days rainbow beams are even viable. How much ship do we ever actually need eh?
At least science has pretty and obvious effects, you can't really miss a swarm of ships being sucked into a grav well. Now you try being an engineer. Healing your team, grabbing aggro and debuffing with APB/APD, FF, disruptor weapons or set abilities (like the old Omega graviton anchor). A thankless job at the best of…
At least some people are opening and using the ships at least. One thing I don't get, seeing as everyone is capped at 1 Bil how can you go above that price if it came to that?
As a compromise I prefer the mark exchange idea. 2 marks from one particular rep would equal 1 mark of another. So if you want to grind nothing but ISA day in, day out for every rep you can do. However since it's better to just play the original content for particular marks that content won't be overshadowed.
I've always been tempted to try, just so long as you stick to the single energy type rule I reckon you'd do pretty well. I've had no problems with using the DBB, 2xDHC and torp setup on BoPs or escorts. It's great fun. Unleashing a BO3, CSV3 and TS3 on a packed group of enemies is cool to look at. The only real hiccup I've…
There will be some out there that are happy to sink that much cash into the game without a second thought. But I think the majority of the space rich earn their EC with lots of alts and lots of Dil farming for Zen conversion. So for example 9 toons - which is every career for every faction - that's potentially 72k refined…
They can tank pretty well too, and boost the damage of cruisers quite easily. When it comes to space it's not so much what career you want, it's what career abilities and traits you want. That is the only real difference between all of them.
The NX is a fun little ship. Spend most of last night playing around with it in Badlands, Red Alerts and a couple of T1 ISN runs. The game always seems to become more fun once you jump into lesser tier ships. Thanks muchly.
Thanks. One day I might actually summon the effort to try and write something. I never thought of who would play the part if it came to the silver screen. But I'm thinking more along the lines of Michael Fassbender or Tom Hiddleston. The idea was that they were imprisoned for treachery, but essentially innocent. Even so,…
Dirt. It stands for Deep Insertion Recon Team. An idea that's been knocking around my head for sometime. It follows a convicted criminal who is given a dirt contract to redeem himself, which amounts to an illegal assassination black ops type thing. As the story progresses it turns out into an internal struggle between the…
Right. It's not so much the greed of the seller, it's more the greed of the collector who need these pixels enough to spend millions upon millions of other pixels to have them. Perhaps some self restraint from the buyer will bring the price down a tad, even for rare ships. Which of course will never happen. Hoarding is a…
Essentially yeah. The limit is pretty much irrelevant since you can buy outside the exchange, and it's always going to be your call whether to open your wallet or not. I would remove all limits. Most I've ever spent on a transaction would be something like 12 mil for an upgrade token, it'll make no difference to me if a…
They tried that already with Tovan Khev. It didn't go down well. It would be nice if Boffs had more brains on the ground, so they fire more often and not get stuck on the environment. But the player needs to be the one to do the bulk of the work since that's the gameplay.
Perhaps. It'd be the first time it happened to me post DR if I were doing more DPS than anyone else, so I suppose that PUG was doomed to fail from the start. I'm still not sure how firing on a single target would cause every ship in the place to come after me. And carry on coming after me after dying and respawning.…
I've heard nothing but trouble from Win 10 from computer newbies and experienced users alike. It sounds quite buggy and unreliable, and seems to be a resource hog as well. I'm sticking with 8.1.
I wonder if the threat mechanics has been changed somehow as well. I've not had much trouble in Badlands gameplay, but the last ISA was a disaster. I'm sure those ships were hitting harder than normal, and for some reason every sphere was gunning for me even though I never did anything to aggro them.
Not quite. The Lukari and the mission itself is just filler, just so the devs can point at it and say they've included a mission that is themed on exploration, first contact and other such Trek things. I don't expect to see them again honestly. I reckon we'll chase after the tech the Tholians stole and it'll lead us to the…
*takes out his smartass glasses* Actually sir, it has been proven that 616 is the true number of the devil. But I believe that is only because 616 was found in an older version of the bible, and perhaps other interpretations exist. I'm only going on what I learned on QI.
Elite sure, not so sure about Advanced. Most of the time they'll be players to carry the team if needed (even if they do moan about it) and it's quite simple to get close to the 10k mark with some basic know-how. I was surprised to see my cobbled together Excelsior build doing around 9k in ISA. The thing uses blue MK XII…
Space and BZ are fine. Nothing particularly special about either of them. Counterpoint appears to play out very much like the old terran invasion map - defend a station, close portals, deal with final push dreadnaughts. The BZ is a C&P of the Undine BZ with new visuals and some mechanic changes. They are fun though. Mirror…
Indeed. I'm not a fan of timegates but here it makes sense. The rewards are better than Doffing, without the cooldown that system would be overshadowed.
