Actually for drawblood you dont need to go to the elder or the taoist......When u get to lvl 3 just go to the Blademaster Trainer he is Southwest(?) in ether-I think.....

Im not so sure but I would say that it depends more on your weapon/build of choice...but overall BM's have consistent damage
