I just started this game and i was trying to decide between a Blademaster or a Wizard.

I had read many threads about wizard and blademaster and it seems that most ppl hate wizard for some reason and blademaster seemed to need really good gears to be strong.

All i am looking for is a class that is not too hard to level up and is OK at PVP.
So can someone give me a suggestion of which class is better and why.

Just more info about what i like and dislike:

    For Wizard:
    Things i like:
    1. insane damage (love it) and can usually kill mobs before they get close.
    2. doesn't seem to need really good gears (legendary, HH etc) as they have powerful skills.
    3. Can be really destructive in PVP

    Things i don't like:
    1. REALLY easy to get killed with low hp
    2. easy to get disrupted when chanelling
    3. Most ppl are against Wizards in many thread

    For Blademaster:
    Things i like:
    1. OK damage (unlike Barbarians)
    2. Easy to level up with axes (from what i heard from other threads)
    3. Don't get killed easily
    4. Seemed to be good in PVP with stunlocks.

    Things i don't like:
    1. Close range
    2. Seems to need good gears (which is the thing that i dislike a lot)
    3. kinda of boring with him slashing automaticaly at mobs
    4. less variety of skills as some of them are weapon only skills

    More opinions would be welcome

well BMs got a variety of "weapons" what means is that you can chose what you like more or even chose more then 1 weapon ; )

wiz i know less about it only know their hell dmg skills =O but they kinda got killed easy but thats my opinion as a fister (shadowless kick just pwn b:victory)

but this game aint going to end so feel free to try both =)

I am a BM. I am primarily a sword BM but am working on my axe tree now. What I can tell you is that Axes, after lvl 50 or so level really good. But up to that point you may have a hard time due to the STR requirements, you will either lack in accuracy or in VIT. With the Swords what I noticed was that It was a little rough from about 25-35, then it started to improve. With both Sword and Spear builds you tend to have a little more available stats for both Vit and Dex than you do with Axes. I am not trying to deter you from Axes because they are a great choice and something that I see myself using more and mroe as I go along.

I play regularly with a Wizzy and I have a Wizzy of my own that I play sparingly and what I can tell you about them is they die, you will run alot if you cannot one or two hit the mob you fight, Archers and physical range attacks are a little rough. And you have to watch your damage during FB's and stuff, because you can pull aggro if your not careful.

I dont think either are a bad choice, they are completely different though, with a Wiz your gonna find it easier if you have someone squading with you a lot, and a BM tends to be a little more self sufficient.

As far as PVP, I don't do it a lot but I have found that I have no issues with Wizzies, I stun stun stun them and they are dead usually without touching me. But, I also hear that the Wizzy really comes into their own after lvl 60 and since I am not there yet, I have not PVP'd any.

Good luck, and really, you should at least give all classes a try, it will help you become familiar with what they are all good at and what their weaknesses are.

They say wizards are harder to beat at level 60 due to Distance shrink and essential sutura

BMs just leap forward, stun stun stun kill no diffrent to level 40

It comes down to how much money you have and which class suits you the most, since both are very opposite.

Both have great skills and the more they level the more you enjoy them, and both need skill to be good at PvP.

For PvP at the beggining BM is better, then past from 60 to 78 Wizard gets better but dies a lot still. At level 79 they get Undine Strike, and they become very good, and they can kite with Distance Shrink.

BM always stunlock the opponent and kills while they are at this state. At level 79 you get a nice Skill, "Smack", which helps a lot against caster classes because it is ranged, it has a nice damage and it stops/interrups them from casting. At level 89, BM can get Hell Spark which combined with a Bow and a DEX build = dead Wizard.

While a level 89 Wizard can Heaven/Hell spark with Undine Strike and throw a couple spells and kill the Blademaster.

It depends mostly on equipment and skill of the player.

So in the end it comes down to what suits you the most, meele or range magic. But both classes require you to "work" to be good.

If you want to have an easy-to-play class, then Archer or Venomancer would suit you more.

Thank you all for your great opions and suggestions.
The thing i still really want to know is:
Does BM need super gear to be very good?

just something i thought up when i read Lyndura's thread.
i know that venomancers are suppossed to be a good solo class but how ca a archer be an easy class to play if their damage is halved at close range and they can only take mobs on 1 by 1?

Ok... Archers are hard to play. You have to practice and practice kiting enemies (which is slowing/stunning them, running and shooting, rinse, repeat). I am good at archers because I play world of warcraft (finally quit that scam) and I had a hunter. The only real way to get good with archers in my opinion is to practice and practice your kiting.

I play a blademaster more than my archer though. I am lvl 45 I think. Blademasters DONT need good armor to be good. The thing you have to decide is which weapon class you are going to go down. Once you chose one STICK WITH IT! Read some of the forums about the weapon classes. I am an axe bm and I can aoe the **** out of things. BM's really dont need "EPIC/LEGENDARY" armor to be good. They have a hard time against magic enemies, but can take them down faster than physical enemies.

I have really never got a wizard past lvl 2 so I cant help you there, but I can tell you what I hear about them. I hear that they are really bad until very high lvls 75+ or so. They die really easily also. But at high lvls they are godlike for dps... That is what I hear so dont take me up on that without doing more research on it.

It took me a month or so for me to decide which class I was going to finally be. I chose blademaster/archer. There is really no problem with playing more than one class so I suggest you play your wizard to lvl 20, blademaster to lvl 20, wizard to 30, blademaster to 30, etc, etc.

i recommend that you just try both, then see which class you like better. you can have multiple characters, so dont feel like your limited to one account

Bm's are good for a lotta stuff The Jack of all trades if u will.....they dont need awesome gear to be good...It wont hurt to have some though>.>.........Wizzies are also really kool but theyre more like for damage and tanking 2 the mag bosses.....since their damage is insane they dont really need awesome gear and if you know how to kite(using the water move that has the movement debuff really helps with this^^).you wont die as much.....for the archer mobs though.... just get close and their damage gets halved so that prob is solved^_^...but the aggro taking thing yeah>.>.....that sukz.....b:chuckle
