  • I would have liked to have considered myself a core player but there is just too much wrong with the game ( and the community ) for me to care any more. Don't know when I last logged in, 3 weeks maybe? I'm only here now as the Rift servers just closed for a hotfix and I'm bored.
  • nope. Already gone. Thought I'd stick around until 60 but I've not even made it that far. just can't seem to motivate myself to get back into it. Been playing Rift and loving it and even though i have had connection issues ( or they have because it sure ain't me ) for two days now and been unable to play I still have not…
  • it won't get wiped. they could not afford the refunds.
  • Star Trek online, made by Cryptic, wiped after open beta and everyone started from fresh in the head start or the launch a week later. They even had a massive Borg invasion on starbases that was essentially unbeatable. After that a full server wipe was carried out. I still have screenshots from the event. But don't let…
  • so, this boils down to the fact that you want to be in charge because you know best, but people won't listen to you after you appoint yourself the leader and defacto expert of the encounter? Consider that a moment.
  • but beta does not mean unfinished. It means still in testing. The two are not necessarily inclusive. launching your game and taking revenue from it whilst it's unfinished and buggy, yet being able to say "it's beta" is diabolical genius and a facet of free to play games. If they had to produce a DVD in a box and sell it,…

  • This pretty much topped things off for me. I've stopped playing. ( which is not to say i quit or anything, just a statement of fact )
  • Ironic post is ironic. I'm still reading because I'm looking at a screen for 5 minutes that says "loading protector's enclave" I've rebooted the game 3 times. It just won't load my main. Mind you, I only want to pray then go play Rift.
  • It will remain in open beta as long as it is broken. At the point that they believe it is no longer broken it will miraculously and quietly transition into release. The term is just a caveat to deflect criticism for an unfinished and faulty product. When they feel they have it perfect they will launch it of course. And…
  • I'll play until I hit 60. I don't have a guild. I don't like pugs and i have a t2 set for 3 characters sat in the bank ( bought cheaply from the ah, not exploited. ) So basically I'll see all the content and move on. There is noting to do after that.
  • What on earth does it have to do with Hasbro? They simply licensed the D&D rights to PWE. If you have complaints about the game then yes, you should not be bothering the code-monkeys. But Perfect World are the people to talk to. As long as PWE are operating within the parameters of the license and are paying the cheques on…
  • Then sadly I won't be playing it. I simply can not commit to that amount of uninterrupted playtime whilst there is a risk that all progress can be lost if I am called to a meeting, phone call etc or the server crashes ( as it often does ) The ideas I have for my foundry quest means it could well be five hours long. I have…
  • Well, i don't know, I've not started with the foundry yet ( I have been writing something, for when i have free time ) but there must be checkpoints. You could introduce an NPC that opens a portal to town to talk to another npc who 'gives more information' then opens another portal, or directs you to another transition…
  • It may not have been polite but he has a point. Even when I have a great deal of time to spare i don't have a couple of hours where i can't leave the PC for more than 15 minutes. You really need to look at a way of ensuring that people can leave without their progress being lost. The fact that we have regular unscheduled…
  • Foundry quests that can take a couple of hours are problematic. There is a chance that your bags can be filled. Returning to town can lose progress. If you can add a vendor or two please do so or better still offer a portal to town, an extra step to talk to an NPC in town etc. Giving people a break is good, physically,…
  • This happened to me also. I've not been able to access my STO account ever since the email I used is now linked to this account with PWE. I just never made a fuss about it as I'll never be going back to it.
  • My community service is teaching digital art classes to adults with learning difficulties. It's something. Right now I have to get things ready for racing. We are at Donnington Park competing in world superbikes :)
  • Thank you for the reply Xumina. I'm just posting this as a courtesy to let you know that i've read it. I'm a little too busy to take this up again just now but will return to it later. I think that the conversation has fractured somewhat and we are now discussing a number of separate issues. i'll try to organise my replies…
  • That's not factually true, as stated. Although the EULA will not supercede your statutory rights in the EU.
  • I concur: And if they want to keep classes as true to the genre as possible then they can do. Simply remove all aspects of pvp from the game and make Dungeons require a specific make up. No game with enough content and things to do needs to rely upon players making their own entertainment in pvp, right?
  • god no, please no. The best thing about this game is that you are not being pestered by 14 year old spotty kids trying to demonstrate their worth in life by pressing buttons in a game.
  • Just because there is a way to play the character in a group dynamic does nothing to alter the fact that GF and GWF are being kicked from auto-queued groups based upon nothing more than they are not required by the others. bleat all you want about your capabilities but it still remains fact that nobody wants your class…
  • it's just a different way of giving the 'rested xp' bonus' that other games offer. As noted, it's ruled by the law of diminishing returns
  • No. It's been a problem in years past when multiple accounts from the same IP would flag up as some form of cheating. the internet and connectivity have moved on. They understand that a whole family could be in the same game on different devices as well as being logged in to to gateway from tablets and even televisions.…
  • be advised. All my transactions have been with: Merchant Perfect World Europe B.V. billing.eu@perfectworld.com +31 188834****8 This will become significant to jurisdiction. And for christ's sake, goodnight :)
  • I will, tomorrow. I'm not being responsible for sending you pages of acts and amendments when you are already hours late for bed. I'm neither troll nor monster :)
  • I'm not sure the GWF is meant for off tanking. Greater survivability yes, but in the holy trinity of this kind of thing ( if it applied ) then you'd prefer a damage specced tank to off tank. I see the GWF more like the 2h fury warrior in wow a few years back before they made that tree viable. Great fun but nobody wanted…
  • Quite right. My mistake. I mistook that date for 2013. Which is kind of what I was basing my objections on. Thanks for the correction.
