  • "The Underdark awaits - Do you dare to descend?" What? Hang on, I can't hear over the Vertibird.
  • You are going to need to drastically Leadership's times to complete tasks and some of the rewards. Just stripping out AD does not work, what a typically slop-shot approach. People generally lose their jobs over such half-arsed actions. I get that you want to take away any free ride for those that don't play the game the…
  • Take it from a man who has dedicated his life, up to this point and for a bit more in the future, to the service of others, this is not a direction to go. Monitoring, name and shame, and requirements defeats the fun. I don't know who said this is a competitive game, but a little bit of PvP here and there and a single guild…
  • For once I have a little bit of sympathy for the devs, they can't win for losing. It is a string of circumstances that have been with this game since the beginning. For those that have been here for a long while, there was a trend for awhile that thought leveling was too fast and they wanted to be able to "turn off" or…
  • He can even have one of his companions cut his head off and place the Head. I'll even do it for fun... er, free.
  • I suggest keeping real world financial debates out of the thread and the entire board in general. Keep real world experience in mind for a better understanding, but I'd rather not debate it. The player base and economy in Neverwinter is small, and it is best kept regulated, capped, and controlled. Not because of any sound…
  • I'm thinking more along the lines of absinthe.
  • You are going to need to get it to the 60+ experience to truly get a feel for the situation.
  • My condolences, and forgive me if I don't congratulate you on a well deserved appointment, but no one deserves to moderate this set of unique individuals that is all of us.
  • Now that's kind of a more DnD thing, nice. You want to up the ante, don't even have to change the stats, just make the "cursed" items Legendary or Transcendent. People will fall all over themselves just to be able to slot orange or cyan gear. Another idea - this is a highly sarcastic, but somewhat legitimate one - but make…
  • Not on my list of things for the rest of 2015 or the future. Unless the game has a sudden drastic change that corrects the issues still in play. I swear, they spend more time testing/validating the issues and discussing whether they plan on addressing them or not then in the whole module quality control process. I spent on…
  • I don't remember cryptic caring about invalidating/depreciating/etc. anything in their game. Also, what about those who choose not to buy that level of VIP or invest in VIP at all? Why should your status and those like you affect those who are not as endowed? Why not make changes to the VIP level instead to keep the…
  • I've always respected @aandrethegiant, and largely agree with what he has to say. I do find it really disappointing that no dev responded to the suggestions that would have been a step in the right direction, with some refinement and tweaking. cryptic releases this without any thought as to THE OTHER SIDE of the coin, that…
  • Your opinion on the packs is duly noted, however, you did not answer the question. How does buying into the VIP system make you a user and not buying it makes you an abuser? Since you like the VIP system it would seem you classify those buying into it as the "users" and those not purchasing it as "abusers", by your words…
  • I'm sorry, but what about not buying/buying this makes you an abuser or a user exactly? I thought it was rather clear who was a supporter of the game with Founder/Hero of the North, Guardian of Neverwinter, Knight of Feywild, etc.
  • *face palm* Just when I think cryptic can't sink much lower, someone stood up and shouted "challenge accepted!" As I pointed out elsewhere, all those money-grubbing browser/mobile MMOs you see all over the place do this kind of thing. Do you really want to associate with the trailer trash of MMOs that are the browser and…
  • This is a very bad idea and a disturbing trend, 'vip' non-sub sub that offers benefits (like team HP bonus), mounts with stats, interesting trend towards a type of something that should not be mentioned. Must be hard up for cash if they are adding a non-sub sub. All those money-grubbing browser/mobile MMOs you see all over…
  • You do good work Aakarocra-man, keep it up!
  • Interestingly enough, despite the sound issues, my desktop runs better on 10 then 7 as well. I receive less bit check errors from the ECC ram (32Gb of DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) ECC unregistered server memory operating in Quad) and the video cards run cooler in NW as well.
  • I have Windows 10 on two computers, a laptop and a desktop, and there are a few issues on the desktop. Creative X-Fi drivers are not yet available from the company itself. The OS can use the old Windows 7 or 8/8.1 drivers, but after a shutdown or reboot, the system stops producing sound despite the fact that there is…
  • Once an industry establishes, it does not like to change. Companies like Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, PWE, SOE, and the others are only seeking to 'maintenance' the MMO market. Pick a popular genre, build a game, rake in money for a few years and move on. The designers might innovate a little in story, features,…
  • I've avoided this one because of the wording of the title. When taken out of context from the original, opening post, it is rather superfluous. In a normal world, not even an ideal one, but a non-Cryptic one, playing the game would be its own reward. The visuals, the story content, the game engine - most of these things…
  • Is this trend of stat granting, attack capable lockbox only mounts going to continue? Will there be any retroactive updates to existing mounts to balance the odds or is spending $$ going to be the only way bridge this worrisome gap?
  • The truth is, as indicated in early posts, is that the speed of new gear getting cranked out. For those interested in Artifact gear, there is an endless cycle of horrendous grind to obtain the materials to level them. Then, wham, they are rendered obsolete (pre-mod 6 artigear) or quickly replaced by better (mod 6 to 7)…
  • I am thinking along the lines that we will get it back, but you will loose a lot of what you might have relied on in the past.
  • Nope. This company, Cryptic, does not have the capacity to make something that could give the far east of Faerun justice. Additionally, until an official update is released, any company using the D&D IP will find that legacy and apocryphal data is "off-limits".
  • I actually believe the Developers when they state they created this game to have fun. The problem is, what they seem to think is fun, only resonates with some people. They have failed to grasp the quintessential essence of a successful MMO, and that is to create multiple methods of success and fun that cater to many…
  • It is the carrot on the stick approach. Cryptic developers for NW seem to like endless, boring, and tedious tasks the are repetitive in nature. They believe their views are indicative of the gaming generations, and made it a primary feature of their game. They also might be sadists, after all they dangle that carrot in…
  • I am unhappy, leaning towards uncertain. However, I am far too cynical and pessimistic for the slightly too optimistic and naive sounding category of "Uncertain for the future". I am no stranger to making tough calls, especially being given the order to choose a direction that solves things in a short term, but does not…
  • A developer or project manager latched onto the idea that D&D is a group based game. Which tabletop is, but they failed to understand is that one, this is an MMO, so both group and solo play is generally expected, and two, most player feedback about wanting a more D&D feel pertained to quality content (i.e. story and lore)…
