The versatility in character creation is definitely the high point of the game for me. There's no other game in the world that allows this much variety in both character visual design and abilities. Plus, I find the combat quite fun. I know people like to praise City of Heroes as the best superhero game ever, but I could…
All joking aside, I think this was a nice event. It was neat to finally see again some people working on missions the same time I was outside of the starting area.
Surely that's the reason for why they upgraded the number of character slots from 100 to 120. Also, man, I'm surprised at the insane meltdown going on here about the new sorting system. Sure, it's not ideal (I'd very much prefer a manual system), but I certainly don't see the game-destroying atrocity everyone is making it…
You can make a reasonably passable facsimile by using some large shoulder pad to simulate the cape on one shoulder, using the same material and color as the cape, of course, or maybe some aura that only affects the back and shoulder (I don't know if there is such a thing; most of the segmented auras I've seen are some kind…
The devs have already clarified that the action figure quests are bugged and they don't start. They will be fixed in next week's patch. For now I suggest you keep them stashed in the bank.
Yup. Here's my experience. Game launches, stuck on "Connecting to login server" for a while until it times out. Asks for login and password, I provide, and it successfully loads the characters. I pick a character and can play the game, but as soon as I try to enter a different instance (inside of a building, Alert, etc.)…
If you're logged in you'll upgrade your account. If you're not logged in you'll be asked to log in anyway, so unless you deliberately choose to create a new account, you'll be fine.
I liked it. Not very different from past year, and escalation made things different so every week would have a different focus. The only thing I found disappointing was that one of the ATs they put in the event store was nothing but a palette swap of the previous one. I still got it because I was overstocked in coins, but…
Yeah, good luck with that. CO isn't known for giving more than one option at a time in this kind of thing. Notice how you can't, for instance, have lipstick while wearing a half-mask. Granted, this is about the only complaint I have about the character creator, but still.
Benefits of the vehicle: - Faster - Has weapons (so you can attack while using it) - Can be modded to improve those two even more Benefits of the device: - Can be used indoors (which allows for more versatile movement if your character's travel power isn't of much use in those instances) - Good for RP/character concepts…
Ah, thanks. So getting the other one from the event store is entirely pointless unless you're some kind of completionist. It's a bit annoying that they added that AT for the last week instead of, say, The Void.
Train runs aren't much useful for coin farming this year. Last year they used to give 9 coins for each undead hero defeated, but now it seems it defaults to 2 (though one time I got 3, so I don't know what's the deal there). They're still good for quick leveling up, but that's it. Now crypt runs give you 7 coins each, so…
This is a nice sentiment, but it's a bit on the moot side. It's already hard to get tanks and healers for regular Deathlord fights, it's going to be a nightmare to do it here. If the Tako fights were at a set hour (or at least, like the Mega-D/Mechannon fights, shown a timer before respawn), people could have some time to…
Why wouldn't it be? People should only engage in PVP if they want to. That's pretty much the entire point. If I queue into a PVP match that's because I intend to play against other people. When I go to, say, BITE, I expect to fight other players. Of course it has to be consensual, why the hell are you all mocking me as if…
Technically yes, but we all know the guy is not doing it out of a desire to play the game by its rules. After all, he used to belong to a SG that was banned for griefing.
A-ha! No wonder I can never do anything as Gravitar. I should have paid more attention. Oh, my God, the goddamn turrets! Why didn't I think of that? Must be because I'm an idiot, but I'm just gonna blame the flu. Ah, thanks for that. I wasn't aware of it. I've never seen the second timer anywhere, but it'll be easy to note…
The one thing I would have liked is that they had given old players a FF slot for free when they made the change. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the Premium Pack, but still...
I think this might be the place to ask this question. While I more or less know all the details about Onslaught only recently I started messing with it. Where can I get more info about it? Because there are a few things that still puzzle me. If you can answer them or direct me to a place with answers, I'd be thankful. 1)…
Unfortunately, the game doesn't seem to have much in the way of dealing with griefers. The other day we were attacking a passive OV and suddenly an active OV showed up out of nowhere to kill us with no warning, clearly taking an unfair advantage without permission. And it turned out this character has been doing that for…
I'm loving that Piranha Plant head, and the Wolverine hair is not too shabby. The zombie emote is not bad, but I was kinda expecting a new transformation.
This right here is the major reason. Copyright and trademark law is excessively complicated already, but if you're creating, say, Spider-Man in the CO character creator you're essentially giving Cryptic the ownership of that character, which, of course, cannot legally happen because Marvel already owns it. The entire thing…
I've had hideouts ever since they were launched, and back then I was a regular suscriber. I don't remember them ever coming with more than 20 slots. Are you sure you didn't purchase any more slots for your other account?
You are correct. Entering the code on the website did nothing, but as soon as I did it through the Arc client it got accepted, even if I logged in through Steam.
You know, I got two vehicles just farming for a bit in the current event. It's pretty easy, I did it only on a couple of days using only two characters. Just saying.
I'm confused by two things here. a) What has changed about costume tokens? Is this something that happened on this latest patch or something that happened before? b) Specifically about the quote up there. Why are you spending $20 a month to retcon and name change when you can just use $15 to suscribe and get a free…
Look, I'm just going to ignore you from now on. Despite what you desperately believe, you have nothing smart or interesting to say, and you've been unnecessarily and unwarrantedly rude in each of your messages. Maybe you think that the more you write the smarter you sound, but it's quite the opposite considering that you…
Yup. Same thing happened to me. Until I just read it here I had no idea what had happened. I thought I had been somehow infected by a wolf. It only happened once, though.
I don't know about others but in my case teaming up in these events more often than not has the severe side effect of game-crippling lag. I don't know what causes it, but even with lowering the visuals to their bare minimum it's inescapable, so teaming up effectively takes me out of the fight. Note that this is a problem…
Oh, man. I thought the change was only for the temporary transforms, but once I saw this thread I went and checked on my old transform device and it was changed too. What the hell? Why? Why ruin such an awesome look? Are they trying to please the Twilight crowd by making a "handsome" werewolf?
I mean, it's like making someone choose between a superhero and a police officer. While both capable of doing the job, one is far cooler than the other. Not much love for this event, though. Frankly, the only enjoyment I got out of it was being able to repeatedly maim Watchdog.
If you happen to be online in a couple of hours, I'd love to help. While soloing crypts is not impossible for me, it takes far less time doing it with someone else. And there are a lot of costume pieces I want to unlock, so I have to farm these babies as much as I can.
This is the kind of self-defeating attitude that never leads anywhere. Thinking exclusively of the negative possibilities is a very good way to never get anything done. You're also ignoring the very simple fact that fame doesn't come from nowhere. Marvel and DC haven't existed since the dawn of time, at some point they…
I've said this before, but I honestly believe this game would benefit a bit from extensions to other media. Comic books, a cartoon, novels, action figures, anything that spread the word of the universe to more people. Hell, they could even have cross promotions (your designed character can show up in the comic or…
That Xenomorph is amazing! I do question this picture here, though: What's the reason for it? Is it the "Iam Done" character on the left? Because the one that's front and center is using literally the default costume for the Marksman archetype (sans hair color, changed from white to blonde), so I don't see much reason to…
You guys think Black Talon is underpowered? You should have seen it at launch. All stats were at 10. It was not intentional, of course, and it was fixed later, but man, no wonder it was so cheap almost instantly in the AH. I think that, other than RP, becomes' only use is to get some quick travel power change and/or switch…
