uhh no. the problem is not people's budgets. Its companies using FOMO in order to price gouge digital assets for which there is no limit or scarcity. its predatory, and the devs are willing participants.

I think we all just need to accept that STO is no longer about making and maintaining a great Star Trek game anymore. its about money. its about making as much as they can, and squeezing from whales as long as possible until they decide to shut down the server. that's all it is now.

its how you know the game is at end-of-life. The focus now is squarely on squeezing as much money out of the players as possible before they shut the game down. this is pretty much how all mmo's go out. We just have to wait for the "We're sorry to announce..." blog post.

My idea is to offer new ships as "Major Projects". Sort of like Fleet Projects, only instead of a bunch of people building fleet stuff, it would be a solo project, you "building" a T6 ship. to be fair, the Netflix version of Sabrina is actually true to the comics, which were very dark. The comedy version from the 90's was a complete re-imagining because it had to be appropriate for kids, which the original source material was not.
