OK this may cause some heat but here is my idea to fix the dil ex.
i remember when to transwarp to a mission start point you had to pay energy credits to do so. how about return to that but instead of paying EC you pay dil. How much dil depend on distance and what quadrant you need to go to.

The sad fact is Cryptic doesn't really want to "fix" it. They are fine with it taking weeks and perhaps months to convert. They will continue to drop 15k+ zen ship packs monthly until it takes 6 months like their other game to convert game currency.
Can't fix what isn't broken. Its working as intended.
I agree it wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket.
Until the ratio of spenders and savers changes I think things will stay about the same.
Which is the real issue. The two main problems that are driving the exchange rate are...
- a decline in players willing to spend Zen to buy dilithium
- an increase in players willing to spend dilithium to buy Zen
Both of those are caused by the fact that, if you really think about it, there's a logical limit to just about every way to spend dilithium in game (except buying Zen), and there have not been any significant new ways added in about three to four years. So a lot of people have reached those logical limits, and thus have no use for dilithium except to buy Zen.
the goal would be for this to be a long term sink, as to not just be giving away free ships every week. we'd be talking months of dil investment. sure, the people who have TRIBBLE tons of dil will get theirs first. big whoops. but then they'll be out again.
- add lobi crystals to Phoenix store; this would have the effect of making everything in the lobi store ultimately purchaseable via dilithium. (My back of envelope math would indicate that the existing value is roughly 1 lobi = 1 blue Phoenix token, if that gives an idea...)
- add a trade-upward option to the Phoenix store; this would have the effect of making the higher level Phoenix items guaranteed-available rather than randomly. Pricing would depend on how the trade-upward is coded. (I.e. is it 4:1, 6:1, 8:1, etc.)
- make Starship Upgrades permanent in Phoenix store.
- move the single-character slots purchases from Zen store (slots/services tab) to dilithium store.
I specifically did not suggest uniforms because they are account unlocks. (re: the players who complained about the low tier ships)
