Separate queues based on GS will not solve another problem: Dividing the groups that want to Zerg from people that do not want to Zerg. I find that more Tiamats fail because of this "conflict" than from people with a low GS. Coordination and teamwork in Tiamat (the method is less important) are the most important thing.
Empire Treasures are worth doing, and it is worth getting 1 Tiamat key. Only use the key when there is something useful in the chest (I used one to grab a Black Ice Cloak yesterday).
The Red Circle for the breath weapon of the Blue Dragon does not appear while protecting the clerics. This is mainly an issue at low graphics settings, but due to the lag in Tiamat many people are running at reduced graphics, which will cause lots and lots of people to die to the Blue Breath because they do not see the Red…
From my experience, yes. it is a run of bad luck. Personally, I despise doing the Zerg method, and the vast majority of my failures are due to an improperly run Zerg. All I ask is that I be able to join the style of run that I desire. I wish everyone the best of luck in Zerging, but i do NOT want to be forced to zerg in…
I have now been in a total of 2 successful Zerg runs, and both of them were disasters that just happened to succeed. The Tactical Method has worked for me about 24/26 times now. To each their own, but I prefer Tactical. My only major complaint: It seems far to easy for a few people to Highjack a Tactical run and force a…
Sorry, but I am almost positive that you are incorrect. I watched Linu (middle cleric) take red Dragon breath to the face with no adds anywhere near her, her progress bar went down a noticeable amount. And I have seen the Black side Cleric get hit with the breath which caused the next wave of adds to do significant damage…
Try running with the crowd from NW_Legit_Community. The Tactical method is working great for the vast majority of our runs. (to be fair, many people on Legit also run the zerg method and are having success as well). If you would like to see a good Tactical run in practice join NW_Legit_Community or look me up in game…
Not sure where to put this, so I will put it here: Bug report: The Breath Weapon for the Blue Dragon head is not showing a red circle before it activates. Every other breath weapon gives warning as to it's impending activation (as does every other big attack in the game), but the lightning breath causes an inordinate…
Switch the Utility and Offense/Defense slots on belts and cloaks. That way you have your needed slot from the beginning. Additionally, add a 2nd utility slot on the belt or cloak, or even an overload slot. Possibly even make a new type of overload slot with different effects that are not so overpowering.
You can use your dragon gem to protect the clerics as well. I know how difficult it can be to get a PUG to follow directions, but if just 2 people from each group focus on using their gems on the clerics it makes a big difference. if you look at the red circle before the Breath is used you can see which Breath Weapon is…
Personally, I like the Imperial Cloak better for my CW than the Black ice. Both are good, but I really don't need the extra AP. To be fair, I don't really need the extra recovery all that much either, but the Imperial Cloak is currently cheaper than the BI cloak, and I am already at 24.5% Armor Pen so i gain effectively…
Since I run as a dedicated Oppressor build, the Chilling Presence buff was a no brainer for me. I always have chilling presence slotted, and I rotate Eye of the Storm and Orb of Imposition depending on what we are doing. With Sudden Storm giving 5 stacks of chill it is trivial for me to keep the chill stacks on mobs for…
Small suggestion: Instead of going for 5% health remaining, go for 15% or so. A larger margin of error makes it easier to achieve. Additionally, I have seen several runs where the head was taken down to 5%ish but respawned with 25% health. I do not have conclusive evidence, but my gut tells me that if a head is taken below…
Both Zerg method and my method can work well. But neither will work if there is no communication. If half the group is zerging and half the group is taking individual heads your Tiamat encounter is in trouble (not necessarily doomed to failure, but it is more difficult than it needs to be) I have now done several zerg…
Red: Watch the dragon as he gets ready to breath. He moves his head back to take a deep breath, then thrusts forward to use the breath weapon. As he moves forward you can time your dodge to ignore all damage, and then as soon as the dodge is complete, dodge again to ignore the brief lingering effects. Takes a few practice…
I am all for experimenting, and finding a better way to do the encounter. All I said was "I am not confident that you will get an average PUG to stop the zerg rush before killing a head" And I still stand by that. If everyone follows directions I am sure it is a great way to do the mission. But that is a big IF.
Definitely not an exploit. My only problem with that tactic is the lack of communication in the Tiamat mission. If you can get a whole 25 man group on the same page then it can be a great way to win the mission, but I am not confident that a "Zerg" will be able to stop damaging a head at the proper time. Running with the…
I think the OP was stating that once frozen, IT is no longer dealing damage. Pointsman, you are correct that it should no longer br freezing a target that has just broken free of a freeze, but I think that IT should still be doing damage to anyone standing on it, whether they are getting chill stacks or not.
The black dragon breath is a MASSIVE defense de-buff, and all it takes to get that debuff is walking in the acid pool left behind from the breath weapon, which is easy to do accidentally in the chaos of that fight. If you are getting hit with that then it is easy for you to get defeated quickly by mobs that might not…
Just a few new observations about the Tiamat fight: It seems that many people are starting to figure out the fight, at least a little. I am seeing many more people grouping up at the fires, working together and supporting the other teams which may be lagging behind. I would like to think that this guide has had a part in…
So you have already killed Tiamat 45 times? Or did you manage to kill her 3 times and get the off-hand drop each time? Sorry to say this, but something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
IT in tab can be quite useful in the Tiamat encounter, especially if you are on a team protecting Linu. There are 3 dragons that frequently use their breath weapons, and 2 of those breath weapons leave a lingering damage aura (blue and green) that can be instant death if you do not have the proper dragon gem. IT in tab…
That is because it does not make sense to put treasure into the Reclaim mission until you have a better chance at a completion. People are holding back until they feel more confident of a win. Also, the sheer number of turn in required to get a reasonable level is pretty insane. They should look into dropping the…
Tried again about 4 times. Can not dig up a single bone, the dog runs off in random directions and seems to never be closer than 20 seconds away if I move (and I mean move AT ALL) As soon as I go to an area that has not been dug up, meaning the little mist thing is on the ground and no item is in the area, the dog runs in…
