  • IMO with the first build (sonic arrow as bridge) get a root like entangling mesh. It would also be useful on the second build, but especially on the first build. You can still face situations on the pull where a dog is in range of 15ft sleep but not the 10ft stun. And can abort right off the pull. But due to hold effects…
  • Changing the colors on either the right or left hands, now changes the left hand only. Changing both hands at once still works (so long as you want them both the same). I tried multiple different hand types, with the same result. This also applies to left and right bracers on my tests. I didn't test right vs left legs or…
  • hahahahahaha. Awesome! I would try this build out, but I just uninstalled the game. Couldn't see super elite. :/
  • I've been a lifetimer from the beginning. This isn't about me. I'm referring to people who aren't. Positive outlooks notwithstanding, it's very difficult to inspire someone to return when they find out their characters are going in the junk bin. As an actual player, I know as well as anyone that you can have a character…
  • You're right, we'd be talking about converting existing slots. The point of the post wasn't to discuss the mechanism, but to provide an (anecdotal) window into the concerns of past subscribers. Other MMO's are offering incentives to returning players to great effect. CO is offering the loss of your characters.
  • It's been a while since I took a break from the game, but I'm pretty sure that's not right. I used to heal the other team all the time on Gravitar. Using the interface. it feels to me like this is a pretty big deal. Interface bugs that interfere with healers and attack the foundation of the group experience usually result…
  • As players, we have likely spent hundreds of hours researching the game. It's unrealistic to expect a reviewer to do the same, or to uncover any information we don't already have. I am somewhat interested in the 'newbies' perspective, since Vets tend to take the workarounds for granted, occasionally even forgetting why…
  • Too true. Not to diminish the role of others: A good tank means everything is easy. A good DPS means everything is fast. A good healer means that even when it's not easy or fast, you probably still win.
  • You *can* tank without any passive at all. Semantics aside, I can't say I'd advise prospective tanks to run out and grab regen hoping to be effective tanks.
  • So long as ebon void stacks are kept up, and you have some auras cast by the rest of your party, you might be fine. But the moment you lose your stacks, you are naked and squishy. The problem comes down to this: Regeneration is not a tanking passive, it is just a powerful self heal.
  • I've often considered a Seraphim healer / ego blader based on crit, and using Form of the Tempest. For those who aren't aware, Form of the tempest activates on crit heals as well as crit damage, so the stacks would always be there no matter what you did. And the character, while losing the healing potential of compassion,…
  • Were you benefiting from any auras on one of the runs that was absent from the other run?
  • I don't think he's complaining about the overall power of the items, but concerned about the flexibility of the items. The items can be good for one build, and poor for another build. Currently many players level their characters in one build, and retcon to a completely different build at 40. It's much more efficient to…
  • Actually the flight powers are fairly middling for speed. Jet boots is the fastest flight power but no where near the fastest power overall. Swinging for example, is much faster on a straightaway, provided you know to do it (essentially remove your fingers from the directional keys). And of course, superspeed is the…
  • At the end of the day, there's nothing heroic about your wolf-headed, dark aura'd bat winged demon clone having it's **** kicked by a chick in tights. Hence, Nerf incoming. As it always has been, so it always will be.
  • True. Non sequitur. Low levels are buffed to be stronger than they were. But even so, they don't match the dps, heals or tanking ability of a level 40. Not even close. Even with the buffs, I tend to think of lvl6-lvl10 DPS as utterly useless. My dedicated healer out-damages them by 3 to 1. Low level toons suck for alerts,…
  • Also Ego Sleep with the Plagued by Nightmares advantage is a reliable way to apply fear.
  • I hear you there. I also hate following guides without knowing why things are done. With that in mind, prepare for a wall of text LOL. The primary reason that you are selecting EGO in that build is to make the EGO specialization tree available. Specifically Follow Through and Sixth Sense in combination will give you the…
  • Disagree. That 'spam' is the only reliable way to quickly find some corpses. Especially when they're on the opposite side of the fight, under a rock, or up on a ledge somewhere. As for the chat spam, I am way too busy doing my job to notice what is being said in chat. It's completely irrelevant to me. My team could recite…
  • Great feedback Oni! Thanks for taking the time to give them a hard look. I plan to use a lot of that! I'm far from finished with these and like everyone else I'm always refining my costumes. So it's back to the tailor for me, armed with some good direction. Once again, thanks for taking the time to offer constructive…
  • Aha! I should have known from the avatar and name.. It's been a while since I watched Chuck, as great as the name of the show is...
  • My pleasure!. Thanks for taking the time to post these, and saving me time browsing around the tailors in MC. I absolutely love that phrase. I can see her being emotionally cold as well. Cold, hard and distant, but on some (buried) level, she may feel emotionally fragile - mirroring her outwards appearance. It…
  • Ranger is very cool. A hard-bitten, no nonsense special operative. I love it. American Gladiator (of america) is completely epic looking. He's kind of Sparta, Nacho Libre, and Captain America rolled into one, and he's one of those characters where you can just read his backstory in the lines of his clothing. Great job with…
  • Thanks for taking the time to comment, guys. I'm surprised to hear that Huntress is a favorite. She was more of an afterthought for me, but you never know where you're going to find a diamond in the rough, I guess. Since you both like her I'll throw in a couple more pics that show off her costume a little more…
  • Some fantastic costumes here. What I like best is how they serve your backstory so well. It's the little details that make them shine. My big favorite is Athena, not just because the armor looks great, which it does, but what really caught my eye was the jumpsuit costume. I love how the character in the jumpsuit looks…
  • That was a great post EvilTaco. Delicately and truthfully said. And you're right about that! I remember shortly after launch, the art deco set was winning 2 out of 3 contests, and being such a full set virtually every costume looked identical. I think if I had to put my thumb on what makes a costume a 'set clone', it would…
  • Clearly trolling.
  • Actually, Regen still wasn't that great. It didn't scale worth beans, so it wasn't great at 40 where a one-shot would end any hope of reneging. When most of the nerf calls came, the majority of the playerbase was sub 40 and they basically didn't have a clue what they were talking about. But managed to get it nerfed anyway.
  • It's more complicated than this. fullscreen window alt-tabs faster because the rest of your OS is still loaded. Fullscreen is considerably better from a performance standpoint, but slower to 'alt-tab'. I'm not even sure why you see this is an issue. One too many options, in the options panel? Yeah. This makes my blood…
  • yup, I'm going to say you've made a good argument. I wasn't considering the compassion scaling with stacked presence. It puts conviction up to a reasonable level of efficiency, and you have AoRP to boot. Good show!
  • I don't have any trouble keeping people alive in normal circumstances, so I build for the extenuating circumstances: To keep them alive while they are doing stupid things. Failing to block, standing in the fire, running away from the healer, etc etc. Or tasks that take them away from the rest of the party (like on…
  • I can spam iniquity all day long, and not drop below 90% health. This is without using any other key, other than my iniquity key. Iniquity is easily the most powerful single-target heal in the game. Since it uses no energy, the efficiency of Iniquity is determined by how much you heal vs how much health you lose. If that…
  • The knockbacks combined with the severity of the fire are a problem. Players get knocked into the fire, and burn to death without being able to block or move. This can be countered by positioning yourself so there isn't a fire behind you. The longevity of the fire patches is a problem. I can't rez someone who will burn to…
  • No, there's always been a hidden property of superspeed that allows for some pretty good jumps, if done right. Rank 3 allows jumps of about the same height as rank 1 acrobatics, or in that realm, if executed perfectly. I'm not sure if it's jumping so much as bouncing, but it's definitely there. As far as whether it's been…
  • Yeah there's a graph floating around somewhere, showing how rec is by far the best stat for overdrive. Either it's a bug, or it's written in a misleading non-intuitive fashion. In common parlance, it currently "scales with REC, and gets an additional bonus from INT/END"
  • PowerHouse (Link to this build) Name: Archetype: Freeform Super Stats: Level 6: Presence (Primary) Level 10: Constitution (Secondary) Level 15: Intelligence (Secondary) Talents: Level 1: The Invincible Level 6: Boundless Reserves Level 9: Negotiator Level 12: Healthy Mind Level 15: Diplomatic Level 18: Shrug It Off Level…
  • Of course, you could always be using power armor, which has a cooldown on block, plus lag, for sometimes upwards of 2-3 second response time.
  • Anyone know what the lowest level is that can queue for this?
