  • 'mercans: https://youtu.be/bqm9HSYbf0o Rest of us: https://youtu.be/Cxba2WjlN90 Soo.. this is a thing now... highly doubt we'll see it come STO's way any time soon... and before folks complain too much, consensus is that the folks drew inspiration off of some early phase II enterprise concepts... soo, yeah.
  • indeed, i mean scuttlebutt is that even this ship isn't concrete, even so it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of...well... anyone with eyes. (except possibly sam neill) i would LOVE to see more concrete details about its era, etc.. If you look at this Ships registry number, you're prolly right about the era, but wouldn't…
  • that's definitely the crux of the thing right there.. it was rushed out, clearly some idiot decided to do this at the last moment... I think an Excelsior model would've generated more "oooooohs" than this thing. :B
  • it's not a very "dynamic" design, personally. it looks... very plain.
  • I agree with most of your points here... as for the CG quality? My mother and avid trek fan said "it looks like a cartoon" and that she's seen better fan offerings in that arena. Me? i'll play devils advocate on that part and postulate that some idiot decided to throw together a quick test render in order to make comicon.…
  • and according to some, the NX class was a ripoff of the Akira class. your point?
  • an account wide refinement limit would be passable, honestly.. there is that vulcan in SFA that gives you a doff mission to refine 1k worth of Dil every 48 hours for some veterans, though. though honestly i wouldn't mind automatic refinement of Dil, also.. kinda help those with little to no time to log on but also have a…
  • It's an Alternate timeline, thus setting up different circumstances for characters to exist upon.. Same as Mirror Universe, possibly even the alt future "all good things" set up, and a few other alternate reality snippets that has happened here and there throughout Trek in its entirety.. Heck STO can be seen as its own…
  • eeeh... not that it's a bad idea, just that... i don't think the engine could handle buggy physics that well. as for shuttlecraft? "The Vault" is not a favourite of a few folks here. :p
  • well yeah sure, i also want the big tank of a thing.. (had the Arbiter for ages, much better looking with the Avenger's saucer section) I mean but seriously? it's a big showy thing and some folks like big showy things. :D
  • yeah but given it's a cryptic thing, they'll cap it at x stupidity per day, leaving us with so much unrefined stupid to mill through.
  • This.. good god this.. I mean, it is what it is, the haters aren't gonna detract from it.. The movies aren't any less Trek than anything else that's come before it.. not only that we've got ships in alternate timelines... to me the Vengeance has no less right to exist than either of the Tri-Nacelled Galaxy-X variants folks…
  • the moral of this story is, kiddies.. "be careful what you wish for... Q might hear you and that's when the mayhem starts." that said, i find it very hard for anyone to take STO's sense of Canon seriously when i tour the galaxy with tactical officers being a Jem'Hadar & Breen, Science officers being Reman and a Walking…
  • eh, seeing the vengie so often's no difference when the Scimitars first hit the C-Store.. there were plenty of those bloody green buzzards for a while afterwards let me tell you. they're the "thing" right now, something shinier will come up and people will move onto that... i say this with full acknowledgement that i want…
  • Kelvin Timeline's yet to have its inaugural "Growing of the beard" or have people forgotten how utterly full of cheese Season 1 of TNG was, hrm?
  • well the Vengeance is not a pretty ship by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a big utilitarian thing with some firepower to it. hence the want. certainly wouldn't turn the T6 connie down either.
  • i thiiink their preferred range is around the 350-450 mark on average. I could most certainly be wrong, but that's the way the Dil Exchange was ever since STO went F2P..
  • I'm sure vulcan players would love having 15 points of extra stick up butt. :p
  • i believe they're simply keeping an eye on it so the price remains at an even keel and doesn't dramatically shift in either direction... granted it'd be seriously awesome if it bottomed out to 25dil per zen, but that's just my broke TRIBBLE talking.. think of the ramifications of a dil price blowout on zen.. The Dil…
  • i'm more inclined to lean on the side of those who want more kelvin ships in the Game.. i mean, come on guys, KT's the closest we've gotten to 'new official' designs in AGES. You can banter about the timeline TRIBBLE until the tribbles explode but it has saucers, nacelles, NCC prefix number, and is from CBS/Paramount,…
  • actually a day when zen's below 400 dil is a good day, this is the way it's always been, it flexes between 400, 410... goes up 50 points now and again.. it's like watching a stock exchange (though i guess it IS one).. wanna make the best of your dil, buy low, sell high, and so on.. hold onto your zen until next lockbox…
  • well considering the franchise WAS starting to wane and become dormant during Voyager & Ent's run..... mmmyeah.
  • it's the paperweight of doom.
  • there's about a few dozen different canon things with "star trek" slapped on it.. denial of its existence doesn't change the fact it does. Everything has its proverbial warts, Kelvin Timeline is no different, it's there, deal with it.. Like you folks have to acknowledge that "Threshold" was a thing back in voyager's run.…
  • well, naturally. they gotta keep the lights on and the staff paid somehow, right? I'm fairly sure Cryptic actually /has/ the Rules of Acquisition somewhere in their office. =P
  • *looks at thread, sips drink, moves on* well that's five minutes of my life i won't get back.
  • Yes and No, i think.. some expansions need that 'hook' & what's being done now is a big chunk to get people started, and the rest will trickle in over time.. i can live with that.
  • and honestly the rewards are actually pretty good, absolute metric butt ton of various marks.. decent enough head start in terms of various things.
  • Okay, Casting aside the proverbial 'ape brain' for a moment. take a goood look at the iconian ships.. i'll make a counterpoint here.. the floaty parts? look as though they'd meet up with the rest of the ship like, they could dock or attach to the hull but they're already attached via the proverbial 'invisible wires' some…
  • Simple solution is to have the connection point a rather graceful curve along the top of the nacelle there to the pylon.. keeping in with the overall lines of the ship itself.
