I love the costume, but this is a .png instead of the costume file.
Also...this is definitely a baby chimp. Adults top 5' and can tear your arm from you socket without much effort.
I adjusted the link a little just now but prior to my edit I saved it to my desktop and it was indeed a jpg of around 70k and had the CO header info inside that I would expect. Can you try again to verify its in order?
And yes I was using reference pictures more of juveniles. The adult photos tended to have a body structure / hair level that would be a bit more outside the CO range. As it is I'm not that happy with the face (though happier then when initially using the ape one).
Requires: Archer set, Santa set, Mantle of Takophanes
After Agathe last week, Dalton is more experimentation with a largely green palette. And there's actually even more to come, folks! For some reason I've been finding greens the hardest colours to work with, although I'm reasonably pleased with how this trio Agathe, Dalton, Hollowpoint have come together. Of the three, Dalton's the only one that wears bright colours.
The design also owes more than a little to Timothy Dalton's first costume in Flash Gordon, where he plays That Swashbuckler Fella.
-
Two years ago, I create a basic human male in black tights. I put a Spiked Ball symbol on his chest then spiky hair and eyebrows. I saved him with the name Spike, then promptly forgot about him. For the last three weeks I've been tinkering with Spike, on and off, placing as many spiky parts on his body as I could find, I then look to the facial sliders to create more spiky parts.
Is it over kill? I think so.
The fun part is watching Spike swing something spiky. A Mace, for example. Had the The Devastator in mind for him, because he needs to make that pounding sound when he hits a bad guy to satisfy. The Blade and the Unleashed both make a sad swishy noise, however, I do like the look of a a double, mace wielding Spike.

Whatever day needs it:
Sparkly Star Student (The Grimoire)
Had some stuff running through my head. Wanted to try the magic girl concept but didn't just want to do a generic school uniform. While I've been doing these with just free parts, I think this is one where it would really go up in quality with paid pieces. There's things ranging from more things with stars to strategic glow usage that would make it really stand out. And of course the name invites aura usage during combat. I'm really wondering what it would look like if someone revamped this.

This week is a simple entry. The one I was really working on suffered epic failure when I got disconnected from the server in the costume creator. No save, all work lost and since it's late I did'nt have the time to recreate it now. Maybe next Friday...
So, what to give you this week? Something simple, basic, generic? And there I had it...
Ladies and Gentlemen, for your viewing (dis)pleasure, I present to you...
Captain Generic
He's "super" strong, he flies, he is the most generic hero on the planet.
P.S. The black and white coloring is a throwback to the days of the old generic-labeled products, once found on the shelves of grocery stores. Plain, nondescript... in a word, generic.
This week is a simple entry. The one I was really working on suffered epic failure when I got disconnected from the server in the costume creator. No save, all work lost and since it's late I did'nt have the time to recreate it now. Maybe next Friday...
I think we've all been there, buddy. That said, I like CG. I really do. But then I again, I still think Zed looks cool, so what do I really know about costume detail.
Considering the game crashed on you, he was probably therapeutic to create.
Cain Gunner had always looked upon his grandfather with disdain. He only had known Ace Gunner as a washed up hollywood actor from the bygone era of the silver screen. However, when he found out about his involvement with not only acting as the Sky King in the old movies, but also managing to make the suit fly and combat ready in real life, he quickly changed his mind. Updating Ace's design with his own new tweaks, and the proper technological advancements of the last few decades, Sky King is now back, and more ready for action than ever!
It's one of several unusual poses you can assume while reading lore. In this picture, he's actually flown up to a balcony and turned off his TP while reading lore on Mechanon in RenCen.
I actually knew that. Loved playing Freedom Force!
Also, I know that you can make that pose while flying (floating, really). Activate flight, Use the Sit Heroic emote (is that what it's called?) and - ( rummages around on hard drive ) one from the Winter Event

Whatever day needs it:
The Sightless (The Unleashed)
Yet another outfit where the difference between the male and female version is due to differing parts instead of stylistic choice. Really liked the mock bruises for the male version.
"Interesting builds are born from limitations not by letting players put everything into one build."
(Requires: Speedster goggles gold reward, Steel Shadow Armor set (tights only), Sci-fi soldier set (collar only)
Third in a series of green-coloured characters. Hollowpoint is actually a redesign of a character a friend of mine played when we levelled our way through the game years ago. He has long since stopped playing, but I figured his old character could do with sprucing up. Hollowpoint was/is an SAS-trained assassin, so I went for a relatively pragmatic outfit, with kevlar and such. The original iteration of the character had bright pink hair, but I toned it down to a sharp purple, and I think it adds just the right level of contrast to the dark greens and greys of the rest of the outfit. Also, the Steel Shadow mesh tights are great to wear under other layers, as they add enough detail to be visually interesting without dominating the look.
Oh, and I got to use the speedster goggles, which is nice. I'm kinda looking forward to July's gold reward. I already have plans...
This week's entry was originally made for another thread, so I decided that she was going to do double duty: she's both here and there.
This one is paired with a previous entry of mine, Street Sam, my Shadowrun-themed street samurai. Also, like that one, she has no name so let's just call her:
Street Mage
Ok, that's all there is, nothing left to see here except this text that I'm typing... and typing... and typing...
Basically I wanted to try a homage to Twiki and Dr Theopolis from the old Buck Rogers TV show and this was the result. Queequad is a simple humanoid robot, very low on processing power but relatively strong for his size. Hanging down from around his neck however is his master Dr Green, a formerly human intelligence downloaded to a small round computer. The computer is equipped with a display screen that Green can use to display data or an approximation of his mood (though he is also perfectly capable of talking through a small speaker on the bottom of the terminal).
If using this or something similar as an actual character, I'd probably have a variety of alternate costumes that just change Dr Green's "expression" and one without the emblem / necklace to represent Queequad just wandering around on its own.
Uncommon Parts: I think only the City Street Defender set is being used for the cords Dr Green is hanging from
Requires: Liberty Crown gold reward, Dr Ka Armour (chest), Nephilim bladed bracers unlock, Variety Pack (belt)
Or Helios if you prefer your classical deities Greek. Yes, I saw the Liberty Crown and immediately started thinking of the classical pantheon, specifically Sol Invictus, a popular Roman deity in the 4th century AD and odds-on favourite to be the chief deity of a monotheised Roman religion if that whole Christianity thing hadn't taken off instead. Still, good on the lad for trying. Sol Invictus is a sun god, and sported the sun-rays crown a good 1500 years before Lady Liberty started modelling it.
A few extra notes on this costume:
Really pleased about the colour scheme here. The gold and blue worked fine while I was putting together the initial outline of the costume, but the white tunic was what brought it all together.
The sleeveless tunic top is actually a modern tank-top, but the armour helps hide this, and it blends seemlessly.
It would work really well with the fire eyes aura. The eyes already have a distinct glow about them, but as a solar god he really ought to have a bit more fire on him.
To be honest, there's lots of auras that would go well with him. I don't usually take the costumes I design out as characters in-world though, so I don't have any shots of Sol all glowy and stuff.
Holy Yikes!! I missed my day:redface:... sigh. Dang it, the holiday had me all messed up and I forgot what day it was. Oh well, the show must go on.
Happy Friday-Which-Is-Now-Saturday!
Fourth of July holiday themed hero here, a patriotic defender of the American people. He will take on any villain, any terrorist group-no matter how large-that threatens the citizens under his watch. Ever vigilant, he ensures the safety and freedom of his charges, locally and globally.
He is The Freedom Fighter.
Alright, I should be back on track next week as I already have something in the works. Until then...
-
Shield Tech uses UNTIL eye patch (may be on the AH), Scifi Soldier Collar (free???), 90s Strap 2, Gadroon Shield (PRIMUS Recognition)
The plus version uses the new Holo stuff. I actually prefer the non-plus version myself.
Also, bobsy - If this guy looks familiar in any way, it is because I took your first post to the thread, the Viper Trooper Redesign, striped of the armor and re-built it back up into this guy. I think I wanted to use the colors, but liked the Diamond pattern so I kept it and expanded on it. { shrug }

Just a basic angel (compared to my more elaborate one from previous). I've done some recent revisions I actually was pleased with and figured I'd post it here.
Sorta like the female version a little more. Let me know if the glows are off but I think I managed to get this concept to work out pretty well. Might even work as a Nemesis concept, actually. Think I've passed the halfway point with these but some have shown a sizable amount of options you have at your disposal with just the default pieces.

SugarGlider's actually a tweak of a much older outfit I had. With the new costume additions since her conception, SugarGlider's gained foxbat parts and some speedster goggles.
Tuesday 8th July 2014 (going to fill in a little bit here)
Antoinette
Requires: Golden Age set (hair), Pulp set (jacket), Lifetime subscriber art deco shoulders, New Shadows buckled shoes unlock, UNTIL Military coat unlock (chest)
There's a fine line between "pulp steampunk kickass military lady fresh from the airship" and "hotel staff". I like to think Antoinette tightropes over that line.
This actually combines the UNTIL military coat and the pulp military jacket. They have horrible clipping problems, but mesh perfectly fine if you colour them the same.
Also, even if you don't like the outfit, check out the hair and face on this lady. She is everything of sassiness.
Oh, that face. That adorable and hateable face. It would say a lot about her personality, if she wasn't just "a costume a day", hehe. I'm so going to re-use that Sass is my favourite thing.
Definitely in the "aura's would help this" camp, was attempting a bit of a golem construct. A lot of similar colors to make it all look like one despite the variance in pieces used. Uses Viking parts but the Alienware promo is still going and thus still free.
Version 2

A quick reminder to everyone: these costumes are free to use and adapt however you wish! You don't need to ask permission - just save them to the screenshots folder in your CO install, and load them in the tailor. Even if you don't have all the pieces, you can adapt them to your own style!

Music is magic. But you knew that, right?
Ahem. If you've never read Phonogram by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, go sort that out right away. I've wanted to make a Phonomancer character for a while, but I've hesitated for ages due to the fact that CO is ultimately a game about flashy effects and heavy action, and the magic in Phonogram is nothing like that. It's using pop music to channel blessings and curses as manifestations of the real emotional weight that we place on the music we love. Fireballs are kind of the wrong thing.
Still, I bit the bullet and made this costume, and have included two versions, a standard punk-pop outfit that would be acceptable in any vaguely upscale club, and one where the character is channelling her magic - glowing eyes are a signature for magic in Phonogram, and practically everyone has their own eye style.

Strange visitor from another world who needs the suit to survive on our world and also uses the owners body's heat to generate a number of powers and devices to make him seem rather Super.
Or could be a scientist who screwed up an experiment, but unlike Mr Freeze, he's all heat and the suit keeps him alive by siphoning off the excess heat, then channels that heat into Meta-Powered attacks and defenses all in the service of justice and other goodie-goodie hero stuff.
Dubbed Dr Igneous by a media who seem to barely understands the science of rocks and sediments who seem to think his skin looks to be a form of Igneous rock. In fact it's qualities appear to be more like hematite, but just try explaining that to you average local news caster.
You will need stuff from the PRIMUS Recognition Store (Tights 90s for chest, not legs) as well as the UNTIL Recognition Store (Superconductor Helmet)

- While I'm proud of my growing skill with the face and the eyes here, I'm kind of, more proud, of figuring out how to make the chest and belt symbols get that look of a back-lit, computer panel thing that others, here, seemed to have grasped a while back.
As a twist on the A-Team phrase, I love when a costume comes together.
Seems I have a bit of an obsession with The Shiny. Wait until you see all the crazy robots I've been building.
I think it really depends on the part for me on the Metal material. I often feel it's "too much" though I wonder if part of the issue is my graphics settings. I do like what you did here though.

Really like the face structure there. Though I'm curious about just what that trick is with the emblem pieces.

All I know for sure is that you need the chest or belt "plate" to first be metal and that there needs to be a darker color in the background and then you have to keep experimenting with the "symbol part" in the foreground. Light colors are the key, there, but you really need to keep trying until it looks like a "back-lite display."
It's the kind of thing I used to see on Star Trek all of the time (LCARS), but in RL I've only seen such a thing in the 90s at kiosks found at some shopping malls. Then, for some reason, they all disappeared.
Today's character came about in a rather odd way. Recently, I had a conversation with a friend about a new computer he was building. He decided to go with a modular power supply and for some unknown reason this idea stuck with me long after.
Eventually, I came up with the idea for a character who uses a set of modular Power Armor. He would have gear primarily at the PA emanation points: shoulders, eyes, chest, wrists and palms. I added the boots for rocket jump and shock absorbers on the legs to prevent crippling injuries. The wings are initially for aerial stabilization while jumping, leading to actual flight later on. I followed up with a couple of holoforce pieces for the more vulnerable areas.
Loadout Originally, I was going to call him Ordnance but Loadout felt like a better choice. Oddly enough, that word is not in the dictionary... yet.

Loadout
Originally, I was going to call him Ordnance but Loadout felt like a better choice. Oddly enough, that word is not in the dictionary... yet.
