Dude the OS X client never worked properly. In two years it never did. That's the worst part: saying it's grown to be too much of a struggle to keep it updated when they never really cared about it.
Recent issues? Ending support? It NEVER worked, it never received updates, it was plagued by bugs, unstable as hell, it had extremely bad audio quality, constant crashing in large open world maps, the worst port that has ever been seen in the whole gaming industry. So don't tell me you're "ending support". You never did…
I wonder if this discussion about PvP will ever cease. It's gone, dead, over, there's no turning back, what's been done is done. Fire up Steam and fork out something to buy games worth of that name if you haven't already did.
I did uninstall for months. Recently I discovered that USB 3 is nearly as fast as the SATA connector of the internal SSD, so I ended up redistributing my Steam library both in the internal drive (where I keep the games I want to run fast and carry with me eventually) and the external one where I hold the mass. STO is one…
As one said "hey, it's free". And 10 GBs out of 1 TB on an external drive doesn't seem like suicidal. Better than using the internal SSD that's for sure.
lolwhat, it's been weeks since I last actually played it. I'm logging in these days to pick up the giveaway items, not for else. Not even for the company.
I've been to Gamesweek, and I'm soooo terribly hyped and impatient for Rise of the Tomb Raider to come out on Steam. That's going to be the killer game of my entire game library, except STO... that one is dead already.
Worst looking is the Scryer. Flying pizza slicer/donut, with weird hull material, incomprehensible design with two awkward nacelles slapped on top of it. Ugh.
Once I couldn't even start the launcher, as it wouldn't load anything... And I was heck right in complaining on the forums! Indeed they should change their ISP really.
Little details hint how much the devs actuyally take care of the game. They still haven't fixed the Avenger's left nacelles's armor, they never came back fixing the spinal lance of the Galaxy-X after releasing it one year ago in the bundle, the Presidio has the glowing nacelle FX badly misaligned since release, again never…
The "kemocite" line was a really bad joke. That means you are perfectly aware that those "lot of" captains use it because it's bugged, but still haven't done anything to fix it. What a shame because I was about to start STO, you made me quit the launcher nice and clean. Good job.
Never realised how good looking the Pathfinder actually is, and I have it since it first came out with the interior: even though I used the Intrepid skin. Dauntless is baaaad. Too little engineering, too heavy on tactical, the intel hybrid is in the worst possible slot, the science lieutenant. Scryer is creepy powerful,…
My best PvP was hide and seek on the Intrepid interior while waiting for a queue pop with many other PvPers. Then sometimes the pop would come... And click leave because #hideandseek. The pop, PvP, fight, leave, rinse and repeat. Then PvP died and the magic ended. Also can't be forgotten the OPvP fight nights, those were…
PartGen ship are murderous when put up against a ship that deals damage with energy weapons. Point blank FBP1 and they're as good as dead. Also the Vesta's shield is a one-way ticket to hellfire if you try to torp it. Imo, science is good as it is.
It's not just kemocite, which is OP as hell on its own anyway, that causes lag. The game simply can't handle these FXs. For example, I run Tomb Raider at 1200p at very high graphics settings, far more stressing than STO *should* be even at maximum. When multiple flashing FXs like kemocite, plasma explosion, resonance and…
A friend of mine manages to literally break everything in here: there as some exploits and/or workarounds he manages to find that are creepy... Probably the devs don't even know about them lol I bet he'd be a good candidate, if only his goal wasn't of actually finding bugs and using them... Back to the thread: if somebody…
