Engineers were OP supertanking healers in PvP, which was their only reason of existence.
But the game is sooo dps oriented that there's little to do.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

I never refer to PVP when I make these discussions, why would I?
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
Well...at least you have ground. Sci captains have NOTHING...so the question really isn't why do the devs hate engineers (because they gave ground to the engineer captains), it is really, why do they hate sci capts.
I have way more fun on the ground with science than with either engineer or tactical. Just. Pure. Fun. And that's with no heals modules.
But, yeah, both engineer and science need to be reworked for space. Actually, tacticals need an overhaul in space. They buff more things than they should.
My main Fed and main KDF are engineers. I also have loads of tactical officers for FED, KDF, & RR. I have a 1 science character in each faction. I enjoy the survivability of an engineer and training the weapons skills for effectivness. Additionally, engineers on ground missions with fabrication abilities = AWESOME!
I kinda have to agree with this...pugs are horrible...did a advanced where two people weren't even breaking 5k...one didn't even break 2k. Pretty much every ISA that I've seen parsed has at least one person who can't break 10k.
so ar the players not breaking 10k because the elite supersnobs are killing everything before they can get a chance to fire? that's a problem with parsing in a STF, especially borg stf. there isn't much maneuvering, as in dogfighting, and the effects of one player drastically effect those of another. I suspect that on solo runs many of the elite supersnobs who are not benefiting from a crapload of team buffs would have their dps cut in half.
and there is ALWAYS the jerk in a pug who doesn't have anything better to do that play STO 14 hours a day who will inevitably make the comment that another player doesn't deserve to play STO, should quit, and in a few cases go on to say they should off themselves
