For me it's another question of immersion v. convenience. I really think that, in order to do a mission on Nukura, you really ought to be required to first fly to Nukara! But that takes time. There probably will be more players playing Nukara missions now, it just won't feel as... real.
I also think it odd that the doctor in your sickbay cannot heal your injuries. Maybe there should be some sort of mini-rep system that increases the skill level of your doctor.
Actually, one of the reasons I loved New Romulus is because I really felt like I was exploring - both because the territory was so darn big, and because a lot of the missions (and I did them all) are not combat.
Completely agree. At Wolf359, how many starships were assembled to take on ONE borg cube? OK, we've advanced since then but so, presumably, have they. But you could take out a cube yourself. Doesn't feel right.
I agree it would be hard to justify, in the story line. But as others have pointed out - it's already starting to feel ridiculous to have so many non-Federation (or KDF) ships flying around. I still think the best solution is additional factions - if you want to be a *Romulan* flying a Romulan warbird, that makes perfect…
But if this game doesn't have canon, it has nothing - people play it because they love Star Trek. That's why I think there should be more factions, with less options within factions. Want to fly a Breen starship? Fine - but you'd better be a Breen then! And so on. This game really has tremendous potential for growth.
There's definitely some inconsistency here. You can have a Ferengi character, buy a Ferengi merchant's jacket for him to wear, give yourself the title "Trader" and fly around in a Ferengi Marauder - yet you're still supposed to be a Starfleet officer. One of the reasons I want a "Civilian" faction.
Kudos to Babylon 5 for actually having a scene once that involved the facilities! Apparently in the Star Trek universe people have been... modified to avoid needing them.
I think less immersion-breaking would be nice. For example, you can launch a small craft from your larger vessel - that's good. But you do it by talking to your transporter chief - that's bad. You should do it by visiting your shuttle bay, and actually see your ship, and actually fly it out the shuttle bay. This might even…
Couldn't you also use it to heal the Kang in the STF, I wonder? Though in my experience - the Kang dies quickly, when it dies, so perhaps it would be too little healing.
Four hours a day doing the same event! I'm not surprised it's wearing on you. Take some time out to read a book or take a walk. Seriously - you'll enjoy the game more if you play it a bit less, I think.
I concur, maybe with some other modifications... I don't know. As it is, activating it largely removes you from the fight since you can no longer fire main weapons, and it uses up a console slot. As a result, you think maybe it'd be better to ditch the special armor for some normal armor in that slot that allows you to…
I love these forums. Maybe it sounds unkind but - there is really no need for the game developers to be themselves creative at all. There are great ideas posted to the forums every day. All they need to do is read them, and implement them.
A new faction - the independent trader. Be Harvey Mudd! And I second the crew-quarters on your starbase idea. With room for trophies and a lot of customization maybe, and without a lock on the door - people like to show off, and people like to go see other people show off. At least in games. Maybe they could sell crew…
The only way, it seems to me, to really deal with all these complaints about lack of content, or the game being the same grind day after day, is to move away from this "missional" model. If all the action is in missions, and there are only so many missions, and the missions don't really change anything, then of course the…
Well, I don't want to take anyone's fun away. But frankly, if they see a shuttle on their team and freak out, they're probably taking the whole affair much too seriously. Think about it as role play if you'd like - Starfleet sent all ships in the area, this was my ship, let's do this as best we can. In the early DS9…
I have to reply, because I was looking forward to queuing up with a shuttle today! Why would I do such thing when I have an excellent T4 ship? For fun. Remember, it's just a game. But I get your other points. I ALWAYS tell my team to remember to reinforce the shields of the ___ if they can - you never know when you have a…
