I wonder if it might have anything to do with that massive Class 'X' solar flare that's passing through us. Many satellite and communications disruptions were warned to be highly possible.
I'd be very surprised if T5 ships weren't upgradeable through crafting and/or the addition of some mod slots, or through the Fleet Store to bring them in line with T6 vessels rolling out with the expansion. Cryptic is not going to shoot itself in the foot by making 90% of ships and ship bundles in the Cryptic Store…
It's a good Engie Escort. It packs decent DPS but can still take a beating. If it were a pure DPS ship, then you'd lose some survivability. It's a fair tradeoff. There's a lot of ships out there with a seemingly useless Ensign Tac Boff. It hurts the Defiant way more than the HEC.
There was a time when Phasers were the best weapon type, Fed side, anyway. Then Cryptic began buffing all the other weapon types, either through rep console set bonuses, lockbox hybrid weapons or Doffs. They're not terrible but they've fallen way behind other weapon types over the last few seasons. I still use em but only…
Not to mention that anything that gets nerfed doesn't really have any effect on PvE, unless say Tric-Mine DPB where you could pop a Borg Cube in less than a second. Although Cryptic went way overboard in the other direction on Trics in general. Anything that gets buffed or nerfed only has any relevant impact on PvP and…
Everytime they add something that either boosts defense or damage, it inevitably benefits Escorts the most. Escorts are already pretty tanky with their speed defense/dodge. Adding Amor slots to free up Engineering Console slots for other consoles is only going to drag out conflicts where noone wins. For PvE purposes, more…
It's a great Cube and Gate smasher but fairly bad against multiple targets/mobs/spam. It's a damage ship and single target damage is what it does best. The Kumari just can't take nearly what it gives.
Sorry, let me reitterate. every way that matters. Like I said, the G-X is a very capable ship but aside from the above poster's stat comparisons, the Lance misses 85% of the time, Saucer Sep forces you to give up a console slot, since it only has a Lt. Tac Boff, an A2B FAWboat is your only build option. To be fair, most…
Whatever the case, first and foremost the Spinal Lance's accuracy in cruiser mode needs to be addressed. That being said, I propose one of the following changes: A) Reduce the Spinal Lance's cooldown by 35% while in cruiser mode to compensate for the low turn rate and reduced weapon power. Plus, from a logistics point, it…
I've had the G-X since it first came out. I have the fleet version now. She's was and is my favorite ship. That being said, STO has fundamentally changed in such a way that it's mostly for aesthetic purposes. Sure it can perform in PvE, STFs, etc but so can a shuttlecraft for all intent and purposes but that doesn't…
The new G-X and Fleet G-X wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't centered around one tactic and one tactic only- kill everything as quickly as possible.
The main issues is that STO in it's current state doesn't warrant anything that isn't built for combat. Sure, one could argue that the player just wants to fly their favorite ship from the series or in general want to look badass and has no interest in blowing ships out of the stars. The problem there is if you queue up…
The G-X, updated or not, is still a relic of a bygone era during STO's initial launch year. She's a decent tank with a little more firepower than, say a Star Cruiser, but tanking has absolutely no purpose or value in STO's current build and with current Rep and Fleet Gear and a variety of Doffs, escorts can keep themselves…
Not exactly what I was hoping for but far more than I had ever expected. Probably the best news is that I already have all 3 ships so the Fleet Variant of the G-X+the whole shibang will only cost 1 Fleet Ship Module.
Oh please. The G-X was never an Alpha Ship. Noone ever, ever cried about the Galaxy-X being an I WIN button. Even when it came out, it was problematic at best. It required a wonky loadout to make it work and some really good piloting. You blew your load and hoped the Lance didn't miss and then had to soak damage for…
I miss the days when you could Decloak behind an enemy ship, Fire the Lance to bring down their shields and shove a HY Tricobalt up their tailpipe. Then they made the Cloak a console, nerfed the dmg on Trics and made the G-X increasingly outdated and outmatched with every new update.
I just meant that the above steps will help broaden the learning curve and the better you get, all the better you will be with the best gear and some skill to boot. Being highly maneuverable is always a blessing because it not only allows you to keep your targets within your weapon arc but also gives you insane dodge…
Step 1: Role a Tac Step 2: Buy Yourself into a Tier 5 fleet Step 3: Get a Fleet or Lockbox Ship and Consoles Step 4: Get some purple Doffs with build synergy. Step 5: Get your feet wet without immediately drowning. Enjoy.
