Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier: Lobi ship, its great frigate pets are only available if you ALSO own a ship which is sporadic and unreliable in its availability and NEVER cheap.
(They never improved the absolutely pathetic Voth Heavy Fighters either.)

My PvE/PvP hybrid skill tree
The jem Dred has 2 types of carrier pets, the fighters and the frigates. I guess they want you to use the fighters LOL. The Jem Frigate pets are really good, like Very good. I got rammed to death by pets in a 1vs1 when I was a noob. They also scrape away shields with an anti-proton sweep.
...And those Elite Voth heavy fighters are so LAME. Tickle my targets to death, rear torpedo just to be different and ineffective. *sigh*

Nope. Tholian Recluse also has two types of carrier pets, and it gets to use both kinds when you own the ship. Jem Dreadnaught situation still unfair.
There really should be a disclaimer in the tooltip though, along the lines of:
"Bugship pets require a player unlocked Bugship"
I can't count how many profanities I've come across in various fleet chats by people who just didn't realize.

Listen, cryptic just wants your money. Want the frigates? Use a lot of money. Unfair has nothing to do with it mostly-- except that time when someone received 3 Galors in a row. Now that %$^& is unfair, LOL. The jem attack ship is a big money maker, you need it for frigate pets. That's just the way it is...
I'll stop responding now before I get in trouble again for telling too much truth. I've learned that people can't handle the truth on these forums, and it may appear as a Violation of The Original Series (whatever that means).

I get a good amount of destruction from my one two punch of tholian and elite swarmer pets.
Atrox could use some serious love, even the Fleet Spire version is still 'meh'.
That's low. A massive tactical carrier doesn't get another tactical console slot with it's upgrade.
I bet they're working on something to replace it.

Trust me, save yourself a headache, get a Recluse or a Narcine. Both have awesome frigates that come with no strings attached. From someone who loves carriers and owns them all, the elite Narcine pets are incredible, I'd even go as far as to say better than the elite Jem'hadar attack ship pets. You do have to micromanage them a little, but they have incredible damage and releasing them on top of your target simultaneously means they'll all drop their mines and use Cascade Resonance Burst for a massive cube shattering blast. Narcine has, a better console, better pets, fast enough to use dual cannons and a better BO layout. Jem'hadar has more crew and a slightly higher hull rating. That's it. Plus if you don't have the unbelievably rare attack ship your SOL
The Fleet Yellowstone especially is a very nice choice...
Yeah, I have to say I am really down about the JHDC not getting a tac console. What ever he gets a eng or sci it doesnt matter, sux anyway. Same for Narcine, wont get a tac console
Best deal out of the T5-U process is geting the recluse, wich got a 3rd tac console slot.
Yeah... only on a first look. But they are terrible becouse are been cursed with a long CD. While both fighters and frigates start from 40 secs, before counting aux power, the yellowstone start from 1 min. So after aux counts in, you are looking at ~27 secs CD on fighters/frigates, and 45+ secs CD on yellowstones. Even with wing commander trait on, and I still find myself out of pets, since they still die rather easy, just a tiny bit longer then fighters.

Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Just like some people said it will get a tactical console, until the escort rule came into effect lol. It's upsetting to think that a ship with only an ensign science BO slot will get an additional science console. Plus, that rule is already long since broken by the Bortasqu' Tactical Cruiser. The rules are going somewhat arbitrary as they can't fit perfectly with all the existing ship console combinations.
Regardless of what console the Jem'hadar Dreadnought receives, I can't stand that rule. From now on, no other tactical cruiser will have 5 tactical consoles? Starfleet engineers can't find room for a 5th tactical console on the tactical Odyssey, but a 30+ year old defiant, no problem? Rofl. It will be even funnier if the Fleet Aquarius gets a +1 tac :P. From now on, ship size is inversely proportional to its offensive capabilities.
I don't know about "official" but I remember someone asked a dev in a podcast years ago. Answer was no.
we know that's silly, considering the fact the scimitar exists, they don't want to give the dread 4 tacs because "cryptic reasons".
it will be kinda ridiculous IMO if they do give an extra sci console to the dread, since its console setup will become identical to the narcine, except the narcine will be now literally better in every way due to having free access to its frig pet and +3 turn.

Let's put it this way, I invested in two of these to fill out my Jem Dreddy during the Crystal event. I went from a regular 3 place also ran right up to a regular 1st place winner every match just by swapping to these babies and getting a flight deck officer that gave me a cooldown reduction bonus for my fighters to ready for launch. Get em you wont be dissapointed!
Elite scorpions are MUCH superior for fighting the Borg, and fighting against anybody else gets fighters murdered wholesale. Which is why I want the frigates that I am supposed to have.
If you own a voq and it's bop pets, and a jem dread with its jem attack ship pets, why can you not switch them?
An answer a few years ago was that certain ships can only fit in certain hangers.
But if we can retrofit a recluse to drain out all the lava and put new startfleet computers in it to interface with startfleet, we can retrofit the hangers.
