Well, I use auto targeting because I use a controller, but it often happens when i'm doing things like - playing a level 40 standing around in Westside.
My XMPP chat has a message from someone sending me a tell at 8:37 PST, but at 9:05 PST, the login server returns that it is unable to authenticate a login for either the chat or the game itself.
I put up perks that fit my characters, and it's annoying that there's so many options that don't fit because they're for boys (because of the gender specific language, and some of them sound awful if you gender flip them), and NONE that run the other direction. Who cares? I do. Lots of people do. It's just lazy and…
I DO use a controller! I still miss doors way too often. It's really frustrating. And I play a lot of tanks, so running around without a travel power on isn't doing my team any favors.
And iirc, the Avoidance in Flippin' is about however much avoidance rating it takes to go from nothing to 21%? I'm glad to hear it's straight dex; One source was saying EM was DCR, which made me doubt I wanted to take the dps hit for it. thank you. =)
I don't dislike vehicles per se. I have one on a character because in makes sense for them to drive places in one. But "Vehicles 2.0"? What. Please focus on stuff for our actual heroes. New powers, new missions, light and dark colors on powers, 6-40 content in MC, getting rid of all the level locks.
Yes, but you'll notice that those builds don't work all that well in CO, because the only major active support available to them is healing. Yeah, I agree that it's awesome to see a regenerating tank battling a boss weakened by Darkest Night... oops, that's a CoX power that has no equivalent in CO.. or who is being slowed…
Trinity is a Tank - a person with very high personal defenses; someone chain healing the tank; and N people pummeling the guy fighting the tank with direct damage. Anything outside of that as a primary role is "non-Trinity". Now that that definition is out of the way, CO is very much "Trinity". I have the "flexibility" to…
It isn't just CC, unless you are considering things like damage debuffs to be CC. If you do consider debuffing enemy damage to be CC, then yes, we need more CC. Buffers and Crowd Control are both non-Trinity.
I do, however, remember plenty of cases of ice/force/whatever guys pouring it on to keep the boss weakened and restrained enough for the other heroes to finish them off, and that capacity is annoyingly lacking.
Strawman. Nobody is calling for combat to stop involving delivering and mitigating damage, only for the methods by which those tasks are done to open up to create more variety in role and tactics.
In saying that "all games are trinity because everything is either defense, repair, or damage", you oversimplify things. While true in a sense, the issue is that there are combinations of those which are unavailable or unused. Here is a chart, on which I have highlighted the trinity elements. Boosted defense makes one…
CO has very few options that are not damage, defense, or healing; the options given outside of that have limits that make them of very situational use, or are passive, or are relatively minor. I will admit to being happy to see my team doing better when my AoPM character is fighting next to them, but my actual activity is…
If many people are doing something wrong, it does not make it any less wrong. Trinity is boring and stupid and comes out of the very oldest of games, that did it that way because it worked for them. That was fine. There are many other ways one can set up a game, many of which have existed and do exist in various places.…
This seems like some strange theorycraft here, as CC attacks also build threat. CS is usually on AOEs, and I can attest from experience that DPS can rip aggro off of a heavily CSed boss with ease. CS is mostly for distracting piles of minions, since they'll all be dead before the CS added threat is overcome anyways.
OK, it cleared up here for now with some minor fiddling. It seems like if my connection degrades slightly, basically everything else I have at home just sucks it up and deals with it, but CO becomes a primadonna and starts crashing.
This issue has returned! augh. Severe rubberbanding, red numbers, and disconnects after a couple minutes. I can't really do anything but chat from an offline client, and even that gets disconnected now and then.
Because it isn't a lot of work, furthermore it isn't a lot of work FROM A PERSON WHO ISN'T INVOLVED IN MOST OF THE OTHER SUGGESTIONS, and it's a definite annoyance.
Yeah, I agree that tanking needs something more behind it than just grabbing aggro and surviving it to make it more useful, but I don't know what, it would be a different suggestion, and tweaking these numbers is an easy fix that would sort out half the problems with probably just a few hours of work. I assume they would…
Definitely. All that content was awesome... Once. But yeah, the thing is that if I want to pal around with new characters, I have to go back to MC - which inexplicably has nothing in it that I can do at upper levels in it, to the annoyance of my urban-oriented characters. And because MC is low level, it means I have to do…
Honestly, a big part of the problem is that RIGHT NOW, the world isn't as "open" as you say. I can't bring a 25 to Lemuria to team with me, for instance.
This is an old thread, but a lot of people I deal with disagree vehemently with everything in it. Also, it's sticky, so it's not like i'm popping it back up. So at the risk of being declared a zombie summoner IRL... Is everything here still accurate? Has anything changed with any of the powers recommended here? Are…
Sure, but Concentration is secondary to what i'm supposed to be doing, ie. not dying. Which power would you take out to fit a second form to run sometimes when solo?
As an update: I found that you can in fact do something like: "/bind alt+space ++up" and hit it while in the air to swing back and forth in place forever. (it gets annoying to watch very fast, though; i'd like to end up hanging ala Spidey, but i'll take what I can get.) But you cannot do it with jumping, because hitting…
Nature supernatural. Plant powers and you can stick staff attacks in it. After that (and only after) then we can start on a radiation/energy set. (not force, but fwoosh pew pew it buuurns my eyes blastiness)
Then how about just adding a new Stealth/Dodge power with a Shrinking effect? This one could be a Defensive passive instead of an Offensive passive - more defenses, and no assasination, just focus it on stealth and dodge, and replace the assasinating attack with a placate-hide tool.
Can we set that to all of them? Because my number one annoyance is the endless and unstoppable river of people gushing about how I saved them from the Qularr - even though I skipped the tutorial and my background had me not even in Millennium City when they invaded.
I can handle the occasional "Hey, thanks for taking down Mind inc.!" and whatnot. But I skipped the tutorial and I have a river of people gushing about the Qularr, nonstop. In CoH, NPC's would gush about the stuff you recently did, but they would get over it. Yeahyeah you took down Kevin Poe but what have you done lately?
