No doorframes!

So, I am playing a character who can run at amazing speeds and react faster than lightning. Unfortunately, the person PLAYING that character isn't quite so fast, but I do what i can. So my superfast character is in an alert or most missions and tries to run through a door - but because i'm moving very fast, I don't quite line up with the door right. So I should just be able to adjust and slide around the wall into the door and pretend I ran through it perfectly in the first place. But no, I can't, because most of the doors have these doorframes around them that I can't just slip around. Instead, I have to block, back up, and carefully line myself up with the door and walk through it..
This is ridiculous. Can someone please remove those protruding doorframes? You don't even have to change the visual model, just make it so the model is flat and we can cope with clipping trough the edges of the doorway. Or just put a wedge shaped invisible wall there so we can slide into the door. As it is, it makes me feel clumsy and really highlights the limits of my movement, and doesn't actually add anything.

There's hundreds of maps with these frames. I hate them to, totally blow my "let's make a heroic demo_record" moment, especially because demo_record ads a bit of extra lag between keyboard and action.

Ontop of this there is also the "Magical WOOOSH Spots" in some hallways which lead up to doors like this so you hit a pebble, go flying through the air, and faceplant into the top of the doorframe. I agree that these are some issues which could benefit from some smoothing around the edges but there are just so many of them I don't know if it's even feasible to be honest.

All while the enemies on the other side wake up and are probably shooting you through the wall.

It happens me with every friggin Travel Power...
You're stuck at the doorframe. So i just have to turn my travel powers off when entering heroically in the room...
They should make the entrances to other rooms 12 feet wide and 20 feet high. Or atleast 2 doors wide.
Not every building has exactly same size doors in them....

My experience with Acrobatics since I start playing the game

1st Try: Hit the Left Doorframe
2nd Try: Hit the Right Doorframe
3rd Try: Hit the Left Doorframe again

    ASNBSKDUFVGASDHVB

I hold down Block every time to speed down the character so I can actually get through the Door

and THIS is why using a controller makes for a much smoother movement and combat experience..true outside of movement and combat (that includes device use...you nonce) the controller don't do diddly, but it still provides a pretty stable and easily controlled experience...even when belting it around at rank 3 mach speed indoors with the camera pointing the wrong way because i'm messing with the right stick.

in a nutshell, if movement issues are that much trouble, use a controller, because a joystick gives finer movement control than wasd

Believe me, I do use a Gamepad to play this game and I still Bumps into walls instead of doors

Thanks to this game's physics, running into objects prevents you from sliding around it while you are still moving. Its why jumping on an up slope with super speed slows you down until you stop. Its why you can't fly up from a down slope until you reach the bottom or unless you stop. Its why we can't have wall climbing.

Its never getting fixed. This is how the game's physics works. Have the unstuck command bound to see if it unwedges you while running.

Invisible Collision Hulls would be one workaround... You know, invisible walls. More importantly a smart use of them. Ever wonder why some games have smooth movements up stairs rather than a "Hit this step and go up" feel? There ya go, Invisible Collision Hulls used to build an invisible ramp on top of those stairs. More commonly noticed in open world maps as the "Invisible Wall at the edge of the map".

What you do is you make a pretty looking wall. Whether the wall itself is Physical or not doesn't matter. After that, you encase the wall inside an invisible, semi-solid block so players don't walk through it or get caught on its finer spots like pillars and DOORFRAMES!

Of course, I'm basing all this information on an engine that is as old as I am. I have NO idea if Cryptic can pull that here.

But, how come large characters get thru doors, without bonking their heads on the doorframe?

And i think the 'small doors' are only way we can enter 'next room'. You cant have 'huge door' in CO....Because 'cryptic engine'.

I rarely collide with the door frames. But they are quite large and intrusive.

And it is for this reason that I always turn off my travel powers when approaching a doorway, then turn it back on after passing through. Door frames cause more deaths than villains do per year.

I DO use a controller! I still miss doors way too often. It's really frustrating. And I play a lot of tanks, so running around without a travel power on isn't doing my team any favors.

They have big doors in Purple Reign and somewhere else.

Oh wow it's not just me. I mean, I'm short sighted so I figured it was that that was the problem, not the design of the doors.
