    to...

    Delta Sinking

    Delta Rising sounds stupid anyways.

I still don't like this. My mk XII equipment is being rendered obsolete by one arbitrary decision. Not happy.

Have you played an MMO before?

I have suspicion that we'll hit Admiral at level 55 and then Fleet Admiral at level 60 considering the typical rank progression. I'm curious as to why they only gave 5 levels at the top end in the first place.

Oh, and what's up with the rank happened to the rank 'Ensign'? Does the new tutorial address why one pip is labeled Cadet on boffs? I haven't had the opportunity to run it yet. (slightly off topic but related enough for me to ask)*

Cryptic will erect a blog post, which will contain information about Delta Rising. If the hype suddenly falls limp, Cryptic will make sure to excite everyone's curiosity. We just have to wait for the next climatic update.

Keep watching the blog updates. We will have more information soon.

    Everyone must be patient.

In general I won't disagree with your comment. However, in other MMOs there was always something better to go after. But when it comes to STO, we literally spent 2 years grinding away in Dilithum, several Reputations, spending Lobi, EC, and other currencies to get multiple characters, tons of BOFFs, and tons of ships on our accounts with this new gear. And with 9.5, people literally spent tons of Dilithum to rush to Level 15 to craft Ultras, only to find they are now obsolete.

This is why people are upset. And not something to be mocked.

A Delta cannot 'rise'. This is SPACE. There is no 'up' or 'down' except from whatever perspective you might happen to see it from, and even that will vary depending on where you are.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

Plus this is the first level cap increase they've had where the ships are obsolete.

Not to mention it probably doesn't help that when this launches it's just going to include the money grabbing stuff with the actually content being added later which makes me wonder just why they couldn't wait to release it.

And this comes after a crafting update that shafts level 50s.

It is a poorly thought out name for a disappointing expansion.

This is how all physical space works. Even at your computer Up and Down are merely relative orientations to you/the room/the direction of the force of gravity. Rising is perfectly justified in just about every case where there is movement from some point of view in the universe (though I don't think the devs are being quite so literally minded with this one.)

To me it means you are in the Delta Quadrant. And we are seeing a rising up of the area. Either friend or enemy.

Can't people wait to get more information before saying the sky is falling? I mean... we knew the expansion was coming, but not everything that would be included. Now we have a name, which gives us the theme. But we still don't really know what's coming with it.

Rip me apart all you want guys, but isn't calling "DOOOOOM" at the first hint of a Season Update, or Expansion, or any change kinda paranoid?

You're all focusing on the negatives without looking at the positives! Everyone complains about lack of content. We're gonna be getting content in the new Expansion. I admit I miss having a whole Feature Episode Series, but we are getting content in a more consistant pace than some other games out there. The Undine battlezone is kinda stale, but the Undine as an NPC faction was revamped.

No, "Delta Rising" is not referring to the Delta Quadrant, it actually originates from Neelix's research into cross-cultural culinary sciences. It is a technical term relating to the rate of change in the speed at which a souffl

I took it as a double entendre with it meaning the Delta Quadrant and the war shifting to Starfleet's favor.

Triple of you think of Delta in math, meaning change. Which means they changing the game to where it asks more of your wallet and change to less Star Trek and more Sci-Fi. :P

Really? You suspect the title pertains to that quadrant of space actually moving around?

Maybe it refers to a rise to prominence? Like if one 'rises to the occasion' it doesn't necessarily mean they're physically going up. It's a play on words. Like 'delta rising' might be referring to a river delta with rising water but what it's actually referring to is the delta quadrant rising to prominence.

    Damn, people.

Of course, that's what people do, even if they're jaded by how they feel Cryptic has treated them. It's sad, really, because it's impossible for the players to bring themselves to enjoy the game even with all the perceived "bad" stuff in the game.

One thing they should address on explaining how the power creep is going to be addressed when it comes to romulan battle cloak versus klingon battle cloak is the huge gap in damage on the ambush.

So pretty much your bops do about 25% additonal damage for 5 seconds with no way to extend it. On the other shoe on the romulan battle cloak you can extend it by a maximum romulan 30 seconds and 35 if you are a reman and that is at a 40% damage increase. So it doesn't take anything more than an elementry school education to see power creep there lol. Also why in matter of any perspective one who could laugh at a bop even with flanking being that we don't have 5 tact consoles as well its just not as viable as a romulan battle cloak lol. The worse part is on my thinking is the defiant will probally get a battle cloak with X2 but pretty much the KDF will more than likely not be addressed in X2's stuff it will be high priority on federation gameplay which most of us already know is going to happen.

And it most certainly shouldn't make us look like idiots by doing so.

But now you have to decide which side of the galactic plane is the UP side. There is also the fact that the most of the galaxy does not orient itself along the galactic plane, so if ships always oriented themselves in this way, they wouldn't be oriented meaningfully in any system local plane. Frankly, it's sort of a mystery how ships always seem to orient the same way relative to each other. It's possible that we've been seeing some ships upside down the entire time...
