Only one thing I really really want in the Expansion...restore the old crafting system, our old crafting rank, and our old crafting materials.
Rollback!
Ugh, if the new crafting system is at all indicative of the "fun factor" of this new expansion, I think I'd rather shoot myself in the foot with a phaser and call it a day.

I just hope they're organized and smart enough to finally sell the Dahar Master pimp coat in the C-Store now when players will have the actual Dahar Master rank, the moment is just right to do a nice gesture like that for the costume deprived KDF. The Dahar Master coat is something that's been on high demand for ages by the KDF playerbase, many people will welcome it with open hands....err....wallets.
that would be nice, yes. Granted, I might not use it anyways, but it'd be nice to have that option.
Yeah, I'll bet....[sarcasm mode]T6 upgrade module, only 1000 zen......... [/sarcasm]
I can only hope that they at least offer what you think is ridiculous. This way I can shell out a few dollars and play the new content with my existing ships.
I also hope the new ships are worth seeing and not some weird configuration that's a total departure from existing faction designs.
Given it some thought and taking into account that cryptic wants us to stay in game but the players do not necessarily want to re-grind everything again I have the following wish list:
- Ability to level toons or rather earning new skillpoints towards a larger step (lets say 1million= lvl 60) via NEW story contend, playing regular endgame contend as well as doffing (just dont make it feel like a reput with 3 new queues and a single new introduction episode)
- Auto upgrade of all lock box (eccept mirror), lobi & event ships to full tier 6 standards.
- Introduction of MK XIII & XIV items at current fleet holdings without the need to develop holdings to higher tiers. If I have to pay for these items again I can live with that.
- Transformation of Reputation/lobi sets to become all MK-none-labeled (as is already been done on some items) Some fleet stuff may be better then but does not grand set bonuses.
- Re-release of canon star trek ships from zen store to tier 6 standards because I never liked non canon or phantasy ships as much.
- Making new R&D system to take immediate use up to MK XIV as craftable items. Make it a considerable alternative to get top end gear. It may be that a year is needed to max XP a single school/toon but a fair amount of time will be passed when Delta Rises and there is no grind or resources in need for advancement.
Since those players who embrace the next expansion will undoubtedly want to advance their toons with prime focus on level 60 and MK XIV stuff those two things I DO NOT WANT to see:
- Introduction of a new fleet holding or expanding the current ones to higher tiers to get new (better) stuff. My 8 toons play in low tier fleets as well as maxed out ones. After some 30 mil livetime credits earned Im sick of pulling sliders and playing doff jockey to infinity. Introduce one in S10.
- Introduction of another reputation system. Especially after the power nerf of S9 I feel pretty much done here for the moment so leave it for S10.
Lets see what happens in October.

I know things change. I know MMO's must keep some new stuff in the pipeline to keep people interested. However, considering the substantial time, effort and money I have put into my characters and their gear, I know that if I have to rebuy it all in one fell swoop, that will be a dealbreaker for me.
And I dont care nearly as much about the ships as I do the consoles. Sphere tactical consoles alone for my 8 characters have cost substantial resources, not to mention fleet equipment, etc. The reason being is that no matter what new ship they came out with, I still had a good basis of stuff to equip it with.
I have not felt the need to play since the crafting revamp and am fearful about this level cap expansion. Not looking forward to this at all and will not be fully re-purchasing all of the non-ship stuff I built up over all this time. (a reasonable upgrade cost at a small fraction of the cost of a new console might be doable but...) Not trying to be whiney, just expressing my concerns and if someone wants to talk me off the ledge, that would be cool.
it probably will be the same as it is now. both in level and usefulness. there seems to be a way to upgrade things like that coming.
Hopefully that won't be the case. I would very much like to see each reputation system updated to the new max level. A Dyson set at MKXIV would really be nice. Come on Cryptic!
Ok, I do not want you to go into flame war , pvpers counted only 5-10 % of the players , but mostly they are the subscribers or lifers, usually they have a lock- box ships, generally investing more in the game than casual PvE players, so I would estimate that pays up to 30% of the game. It is only surprising that developers are getting well so long ignoring them.
So is the preference of 5%-10% of us more important? And how do you even know if that's true? I think it's less than 5% doing PvP regularly. This game had always bowed to PvP for the best gear (remember the tractor beam mines and the transphasic torpedoes? Both were nerfed to hell because the PvP people cried about them). But I don't think simply having the highest stats makes someone a "better" player. And almost all the money they make is Vegas-style. F2P people come in, put in $20, get their fill, and leave. PvP alone is not responsible for 30% of the game's revenue. If you actually believe that you are truly deluded. PvP is NOT that important, and neither are the people who do it. This game is about turning around as many paying customers as possible. VEGAS-STYLE.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
I, for one, am glad that we are finally getting content that we have been owed for years. However, new content does NOT equal new grinding. I have ground for my gear, specifically, fleet gear. If our gear is to be rendered darn near obsolete compared to the new Mk XIV fleet gear, I want a free upgrade. Outfitting my ships was nowhere near cheap for either my fleet or me. Each piece of my gear cost our fleet 1 provision that we, collectively, ground for. Now, with the new fleet gear, we have pretty much wasted our time, money, and provisions. Consoles alone are 50k FC ,10k dil, and a provision (without discounts). Fleet weapons (advanced) are 10k FC, 9.1k dil, and a provision (With discounts). Etc Etc... all of which we ALL have ground for. Either that, or we paid real money for zen and exchanged it for dilithium. Either way, we are being robbed of all of this and are being forced to grind for all over again. If we can't at least get a free upgrade... at the very least we should be allowed to sell our fleet gear to the, currently non-existing fleet vendor, for the FULL PRICE we paid to get it, including the provisions! This, of course, should be given (not a new project). Upon the update of the game he/she should just appear. If these reasonable and fair requests cannot be met... you have lost my patronage Cryptic.
Q:&A Existing T5 ships will be competitive. Will be way to "make them better"
Lol yeah right. I don't believe for a second that Cryptic will allow us to modify our existing ships to be as good as the new tier. Or if they are it's gonna require some serious wallet fishing.

I seem to remember they had quite a few apperances in Voyager and would be in the Delta Quad.

Most likely, and likely connected to the Iconians somehow. Likely even being the originators of the Obelisk Swarm pets.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
