So its safe to assume now that with the hundreds of posts here, they still haven't fixed it and I will be stuck waiting for a few more days for them to figure out what they've messed up? But i will get blamed and told it's my problem?

They know **** well what the problem is, but an actual fix would involve actual money.
Does Arc install a root kit? Ask a Dev today!

No rollback, just got my Jem Hadar Dreadnought, wanted to look on the bridge but then got disconnect.
Cant get back in now, very strange.

Ok, I too will try to say something without the community turning. To all of the people who are just going to the last page and not actually reading anything on them... they are NOT blaming you people. They are simply saying it is not a global problem with the server but rather the ISP. If you read you will see they are not necessarily saying it is YOUR isp or YOUR computer. Please stop reacting like this is a personal attack. It does appear to be an ISP problem. Theirs.

i get your point, but when there are over 200 pages...i dont want to read every single page. And since I didn't find any Dev posts while going along except the 1 its very easy to think that game creators are all like...MEH... about the situtation.

Have our intrepid engineers checked the permissions on the patch? It sounds like someone failed to set the permissions so that people outside of Cryptic/PWE network cannot get in. Using a VPN would be read by their network as a back door, and thus as within it.

Try setting the permissions to 5. Also, check and make sure that all end-of-line punctuation is present.

P.S.: If I'm right and this is the problem, I want a Temporal Destroyer as my consulting fee. :D

It looks like a routing problem, not an issue on the STO servers directly. From my own and glancing at a few other traceroutes, routing through Cogent is screwed up. They need to get Cogent on the line and have them fix the routing. One of Cogent's routers is probably broadcasting garbage routes.

Can we have an update on what is wrong and when STO will be back online?

Its the anniversy of STO, STO has been a garbage pile of bugs, vermin and cash store pestilence from before it even launched.
The only thing todays issue demonstrate is that after 3 years and new management. Cryptic never changes.

    HAPPY ANNIVERSERY !
