    After reading the many post on this problem, and realizing the issue is not local but global I began to search for a reasonable connection to the issue. It seems that Wifi and or dsl customers can get in just fine , but those with a hard cable connection cannot...........is this a pattern or am I just seeing things?

    i get your point, but when there are over 200 pages...i dont want to read every single page. And since I didn't find any Dev posts while going along except the 1 its very easy to think that game creators are all like...MEH... about the situtation.
    I completely understand your point on it being a long post and I do agree that there may not be time to comb through it. But by the same token, what point does an inflammatory and in most cases a knee jerk reaction of hostility stand to help. When people are posting that the devs don't care, but that can't be said when there is a good possibility that they cannot do anything about it. Simply put perhaps if some can't take the time to read it, they should not take the time to post about it.

    look all, i have the same problem as all of you. but i am in game atm while typing. i know this is going to suck to hear, but to the people that own smart phones, tether with a usb cable to the desk top. once your desk top is using your service provider( t-mobil Verizon ect) open the launcher and patch it. then press engage and when you see the cryptic loading screen disconnect your smart phone and use your net provider at this point. its only an issue with the launcher not game servers.

    the pattern seems to be the route into the patching server. some users have a different route in so they are ok. for the rest, there is a faulty route

    Hi Captains,

    The team is investigating, but this does not seem to affect all players and may be regional. To help in the investigation, please run a tracert (instructions for this process here) pointing to launcher.startrekonline.com and copy/ paste your results in this thread if you're comfortable doing so and making sure you star out your local IP address.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

    Just checked page 77, Many thanks. Well what a pile of TRIBBLE to keep us all informed!!!!!:D

    Hi Captains!
    Well some guys in my Fleet got that issue as well. We figured out that you only need to edit your Windows Host File, located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

    Inside of this File you need to add a new line with:

    208.95.184.20 stohttppatch.crypticstudios.com

    And thats it!

    I had the same connection problems with my launcher ...

    Looks like the DNS isn't working so i put the server ip and dns adress in my hosts file.

    Now it works just fine again.
