    Not the patcher this time everyone.

    It was happening over an hour BEFORE the server went down.

    I'm thinking hardware related.

    Also appear to have got it working via my mobile connection, but it's damn slow(the mobile) connection, and i'm not gonna download the patch via my mobile connection(not a complaint, just haven't got the data allowance for it)

    I have the same problem in Otwock (Poland) And had that problem between 2 pm - 3pm Poland Time ( before the patch) but after 3 pm I managed to log in and play.

    Connected to my VPN from the UK to US and the launcher has loaded fine.

    If i disconnect then the launcher fails to load.

    I think this guy is one of a few that thing that coincidence is simply that. Same as saying that it's not your fault for getting struck by lightning when you stand on a hill with a golf club in the air during a storm.

    The problem occurred at, or around one of PWs much reviled unscheduled patches. Interesting that they're defended at all, by anyone. You sir, stand with a few.

    This has worked, For anyone still having the problem, Load in using a tether from your phone, Load right into the game and then switch to your regular ISP :D

    getting same issue (also from uk) with being unable to connect to the patch server and did the tracert test but it would not let me copy it lol , please fix it rather quickly please cryptic cause if you dont it mean i have to do the house work :P

    Same problem here. Says it cannot connect to the patch launcher, then tells me to check my internet connection. My connection is good, rebooted my 'puter for good measure, still nothing.

    In case the Devs read this, it might help. I was able to tether my cell to my PC and connect to the game with no problems. This may very well be a DNS issue, but I don't know anything about their server setup so that's obviously a shot in the dark. Unfortunately I can't play through my cell's network since I don't have unlimited data.

    For those of you who are in the same boat as me and connect to the game normally, all I can suggest is come back in a few hours. Go work on your character's build using the skill planner http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com (shameless self promotion lol) or watch a movie and then come back. In my honest opinion, it's going to be a while until this is completely resolved.

    Ok so I got in - here's how I did it

    My main ISP (Bt in the Uk) seems to route me through the broken connection so..

    Disconnect pc from home network

    Plug in iPhone with 3G connection as hotspot

    Run launcher - it patches fine (looks like orange 3G network gets routed differently)

    Get to choose toon screen

    Unplug phone - game logs out

    Reconnect home network

    Login and play as normal UNTIL

    Try to visit new area (foundry mission) - game tries to hot patch and can't

    Plug phone back in - let it patch log out and then back in again



    Suggestion - list for cryptic the ISPs that work and the ISPs that don't

    So BT / UK doesn't but Orange / UK does

    Same issue for me here as well. Hampshire UK. Can not patch the launcher and crashes out due to non connectivity. No issues with any other MMO launching or streaming movies so not my end :):(

    If you look at all the tracerts listed so far, most of them are timing out at the Boston, Massachusetts (bos)cogent.co connection...
    Something there is the culprit.
    I've noticed before with other tracerts of my own, that the connection there tends to be a bit of a bottleneck.

    Here is the real reason some people can not log-on to MMOPH's. Boston, Massachusetts.. are liberal states and the liberals have taken over the internet servers there saying that people with super high speed bandwidth (the 5%) is not fair to those with out (the 95%) and are impossing and fairer playing time for those 95%.

    Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to that, I can only say what has worked for me, Perhaps if you have a neighbor or friend close by that you can use for the 2 minutes or so while you log into the server then you can just swap back over.
