is this "soon" like the starbases (sometime in the future)
    "soon" as in this month?
"soon" as in half past two today??
    I'd wager next week
(Note: This is my own personal guess and this is not based off insider information as I have no clue when this will happen)

Btw starbases are on Tribble now hehe

    Interesting question..

What happens to those of us who have a certain balance of unbound CPoints that can currently be used for either STO or Champs?

Will those CPoints be converted into unbound Zen that can be used in any game? Or will they be force-bound to one of Cryptic's games? and if the latter, do we get to choose which game?

    Anyone know?

I honestly don't know for certain, only someone from PWE (ie Brandon) would know for sure. I would assume they would just stay game bound but again, that's something more for Brandon to cover.

    But they're NOT game-bound now.

I'm asking what happens to our purchased-with-dollars-cpoints that are still "floating" able to be used for eithe STO or Champs?

OH the unbound ones sorry misunderstood

They're converted to Zen so best bet able to be used in any game.

    please address in the FAQ:

What happens to the dilithium to C-Point exchange in-game?

Will the price range (min/max 100 - 500 per C-Point) be adjusted accordingly?
What happens to already listed offers?

i really don't want to spend more dilithium per Zen than i had to for C-Point (the prices are high as it is)

So glad you told us about this. I really don't like the whole going through other websites to get game currency to then convert to this game currency. I was holding out for my final c store purchase, the enterprise bundle, until i finished the story, as a sort of endgame reward, but I've gone ahead and got it now to avoid having to deal with zen. And I believe that will be it from me.

The one thing that I am currently rather irked about is that I have to now spend more money to get less cryptic points, because the exchange rate from zen to points seems to be rather skewed. Before, if I wanted 2000 cryptic points, I paid 20 pounds and got my points. Now, I pay the same amount for 2000 zen, which, when transferred over, turns into LESS cryptic points. Almost a full 400 points less!

Can any of the devs or community managers affirm that these skewed exchange rates will be fixed? 'Cause I tell you for a fact that if they aren't going to be, it'll be the last time that I pay for anything on here.

As store prices will go 25% up, will Dilithium gained from daily missions (and daily refining cap) will be increased by the same amount ?

    OR

Will Dilithium Exchange rates be altered (ie wiped out to start clean) ?

as we all have to buy zen anyway this will make things much simpler to understand what we need to buy and how much it will cost so im happy enough with this.

I'm pretty sure the store prices will just change to reflect the new value.

Firstly thank Branflakes for the reply. much appreciated.

Secondly to those concerned they are losing money this has been proved wrong many times all over the forums but to state it again you dion't lose any dollars in the conversion. you need to understand exchange rates.

2000 cpoints was 25 dollars. full stop. always was end of.
    2000 zen is 20 dollars.

    1 cpoint = 1.25 dollars
    1 zen = 1 dollar

1/1.25 = 0.8 (this is the exchange rate for zen to cpoints)

    2000 zen x 0.8 (exchange rate) = 1600 cpoints.

You dont lose anything currently and wil not lose anything in the conversion. zen and cpoints were never a 1 for 1 exchange. think dollars and any other currency in the world. You seldom (if ever) get a 1 for 1 exchange. please go read up on how exchange rates work. it may stand you in good stead in life in general.

And thirdly store prices are not "going up" in real terms, they are simpy changing the terms of reference as above. You currently for example pay 25 dollars (2000 cpoints) for the Armitage class heavy escort. When the change happens you will pay 25 dollars (2500 zen). So in real world terms, the same price.

Finally will the Dilithium to Zen exchange rate be different to the Dilithium to Cpoint exchange rate? Undoubtedly so. But as I explained above the dollar value you will be obtaining will be the same. If for example 330 dil gets you 1 cpoint at present (or 1.25 dollars in real world terms), then I would guesstimate that once the change happens then 264 dil should get you 1 zen (1 dollar in real terms (330 x 0.8)). Now the dil market is player driven so this may or may not happen but in a perfect scenario this would be the outcome.

One thing that I would like to see is a smooth transition. None of this oopsie here we go again, with a jarring and abrupt appearance.

Give a firm date. Do post conversion rates not just in the forum but on a dedicated web page with links from the main page that are clearly defined and not buried.

Sorta like not having a button labled and the old addage of pushing that said button and we have a thermonucler melt down begin.

Branflakes already addressed that the cstore prices on Tribble have not yet been amended to reflect the change. so no 1 zen =/= 1 cpoint.

Yes. You will notice all of your balances go up (if you have any), but that also means C-Store prices will increase (even though the actual conversion price to IRL currency stays the same as it was if it were C-Store Points).

So basically I don't have to use the conversion thingy and the like 4 or so Zen I have that didn't convert will actually be worth something.

It's the weekend dude. chill. or raise a ticket. Billing issues will not and cannot be discussed on the forum (PWE policy it seems). Not sure what the exact process is for first time purchasing through PWE but the first purchase often takes a bit longer. if you can't/won't wait then try emailing customerservice@perfectworld.com with the details. There should also be a phone number on your purchase receipt

I have one question that requires (not optional) answer:

Where will you be storing CC info? US or China...?

And yes... I know you won't be storing them in Cryptic/PWE... I am more than aware that your security is too weak to be allowed to store CC info...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

It will go live with Season 6 :) You can already see the Zen symbol being used on Tribble now, but as mentioned, the prices on Tribble still have the CP value, just with the Zen symbol. Those prices will go up by 25%, but so will any CP balances you have.

I would just like to say... After converting my account to this PWE mess, I now can't buy points in-game. Instead, the game minumizes an takes to the PWE website to buy Zen, which I then would have to convert into Cryptic Points. Until you company gets this fixed and implemented so I don't have to leave the game to buy points, I am not buying squat! If PWE looks at my transaction history for my time playing this game. You are missing out on some cash! I sure hope the abilitly to buy gift codes will also to return very shortly.

No more Steam wallet ? This means I won't buy anymore c-points (or whatever you call them). I don't want to give my credit card number to evey game i play and the steam wallet is perfect for that. I don't want PWE owning any information about my credit card either since I don't trust the company (and its location).

read the thread please. no more cpoints via steam but you will be able to buy zen which will be the boutique currency going forward.

As for the company it is based in California? I know they are a bunch of beatniks and hippies out there but other than that I don't see your point?

This is how I feel about it too. I have nothing against PWE, but don't see the need to hand out the information to another database when there is already a system in place with a place that already has it (steam).

Branflakes, please clarify the following two points:

    1. Will we still be able to use the Steam Wallet in the same manner we do at the moment, with the only difference being that we receive Zen rather than C-Points?

    2. Will UK players still be able to purchase Zen at the same rates and in the same currency, ie, Pounds Sterling as we do today? It's been shown that paying in Euros means UK players do NOT get as many points for their money as they do today.

We are PWE. Your forums and game accounts will be added to our own. Your community will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.

Or if I read the FAQ right... use the Steam Wallet to buy Zen.

I'd still like an official answer to my question tho. What happens to the CPoints we have that we purchased, that are currently able to be spent in either STO or Champs (unbound)?
