This is good news, save all the confusion surrounding exchange rates etc.

Any comments about Zen taking FOREVER to be added to your account after purchasing? Is this a one time thing, or is this the new normal? This REALLY hurts impulse buys. (Good for us; bad for you guys.)

It took four minutes the first time I did it... but since then it's taken less than a minute each time.

I've heard that it could depend on how the financial institution that you are using, interacts with PWI's charging company.

Hmm, I'm actually okay with this. Now I won't have to do any ridiculous currency conversions.

(If I'm reading the FAQ properly, that is.)

Before someone else brings it up the statement below from the FAQ isnt completely accurate unless this is a wider change across all games:

ZEN is the name of the virtual currency used throughout all of Perfect World Entertainment's games (excluding Torchlight). ZEN is used to purchase items in each of the games' cash shops to enhance the user's gameplay experience.

According to information pulled from the Exchange Rates page ( https://billing.perfectworld.com/exchange )

PWI uses Gold and Silver in the in game boutique.
    ESO uses Ebucks and Ecents.
Jade Dynasty uses Jaden and Jaden Silver
    Foresaken world uses Eyrda leaves

BOI (and I think WOI), Rusty Hearts, Blacklight Retribution use Zen directly.

Torchlight isn't mentioned so I will take that at face value as not using zen and I presume that Neverwinter will use Zen from the get go. No Mention of what Raiderz uses and I havent tried the beta so dont know.

So if there is a wider plan to change all games currencies to zen, then the FAQ statement is at least partly correct, however if not it is more true to say that:

ZEN is the name of the virtual currency used to fund in-game purchases throughout all of Perfect World Entertainment's games. In some games this requires converting the Zen to a currency more in keeping with the game aesthetic however ultimately Zen is used to purchase items in each of the games' cash shops to enhance the user's gameplay experience.

Just something that may need clarified as i couldnt see a post on the PWI forum for example about converting gold/silver to Zen in the boutique.

So an hour and a half of "payment in review" thus far... I won't have to wait like this every time will I?

If you guys really wanted to calm down the rage you are continuing to bring out of your players, you would make sure the cpoint store prices stayed the same with this change. As it stands, you can expect loads of rage quits when those prices go up even though they are just adjusting based on the conversion.

I think they know that the average player would fly into a rage if the 7/11 ran out of Big Gulp cups and give it as much concern as it requires.

Q: Can I still buy Virtual C-Points cards? What happens if I activate one after the conversion?
Virtual C-Points cards will no longer be available for purchase. If you have one and activate it after the conversion takes place the Cryptic Points that come from it will automatically convert into ZEN.

So, with this, one more cryptic feature gets lost on the PWE assimilation. I never used, but I think I could use at some point on the future if I wished to gift a friend. Well, it is their loss. I think I will have to spend my money elsewhere to gift my friends.

Thanks Cryptic for introducing the Kelvin Timeline. It remembered why I decided to never more put any money on this game.

Personally, I like the fact that when you buy a certain (large) amount of Zen, you get some bonus Zen free.

Not sure if that's a temporary promotion or not.. but it's cool.

the bulk buy bonus is always there. they do also occasionally have zen sales where you get even more for your money.

    That's so sweet.

Do you happen to have a link to the current prices? I'm having a heck of a time finding that page again.

    https://billing.perfectworld.com/charge

    $200.00 = 20,000 + 1,300
    $100.00 = 10,000 + 600
    $50.00 = 5,000 + 300
    $30.00 = 3,000
    $20.00 = 2,000
    $10.00 = 1,000
    $5.00 = 500

Seriously, this has been bothering me for two days. I love gifting C-Points to my friends, and I would seriously hate to lose this feature.

I'll ask the CS team to update the FAQ with information about this.
Probably an oversight, but best to seek clarification...

What about STO, will we still be able to buy using Steam Wallet from within STO?

As far as I know, yes :) I'll try and get more clarification for the FAQ.

    Cheers,

"The transaction is currently in the review/approval process and will be completed shortly"

Any word on what "shortly" means? In game steam wallet is instant still but I've already got a transaction "reviewing" almost 3 hours now...

Normally takes a few minutes but it can take up too 24 hours (I doubt it'll go that long though mine was pretty fast).

    Interesting question..

What happens to those of us who have a certain balance of unbound CPoints that can currently be used for either STO or Champs?

Will those CPoints be converted into unbound Zen that can be used in any game? Or will they be force-bound to one of Cryptic's games? and if the latter, do we get to choose which game?

Might be dependent on the payment method you use?

I purchased some Zen using Paypal, getting the same message.

    Just tried that, still nothing....

I'm hoping this is just a first transaction thing and not something that will happen every time
