No, because that's not the only way to spend your gold. The AH is a luxury of this MMO. Most MMO's get by just fine without it. Some even don't allow trading CS items. Some magically have been around for many years.

The second time I used it, it just gave me an error before I ever got to paypal.. something like coupon already used, or invalid coupon. Either way, it was before I got past the first page.

When you make your purchase with paypal, the site will direct you to paypal's website where you log in with your paypal account.
