I played this earlier today. I was going to say it was over too fast, but it might be good that way as part 1 of a campaign. The setting is non-traditional, so this way players get a good taste of whats coming in a short time, so they'll (hopefully) see it through and then decide to continue or pass. If it were longer,…
Thanks, yes I did win! I never win! You can have some solo encounters, I just find that mixing all the difficulty levels makes the run more interesting. Someone explained to me early on that the easy encounters are there to help you fuel your Daily power so it is ready for the big fights. Oh, also, I talked to the…
Nicely done! Here are some notes I took during the playthrough. I look forward to the next part. -On the 2nd map, the horse is named "Horse 1". -Especially liked the off-the-golden-trail details you included for explorers. -Had a classic D&D module feel. -The sister is pretty unhappy with you in the village. I think she…
I've been back and forth between here and STO. Check out "Party Crashers ST-HUY4Y2D5Q" over there if you play. I'm currently working (slowly) on a quest that will have some optional side stuff, so I've been thinking about this topic. I sent you a PM so as not to derail the thread. :) --Winin
You could have dialog options that aren't part of the main quest objectives, but they would open one door or the other, forcing players down one path or the other path.
The current tool is much easier to use than in beta. It still has limitations, but if you design your quests to fit the limits, rather than trying to force the tool to meet your vision of what you want to do, it works well. My latest quests don't get nearly the number of plays my old ones did, but they still get plays, and…
I would dearly love an external dialog editing tool (with spellcheck). Cutting and pasting every block from a document into the editor is a painful process.
Hey, thanks for playing my quest! I'm glad you liked it. I always try to tell a good story (except for my joke grind quest) that fits in with the lore.
D'oh, I just realized I'll be away at GenCon during the "fix-it" period. Oh well. Hopefully nothing breaks. BUT, I always try to future proof my quests by not being too tricky with the tools, so I feel pretty confident.
Being featured is a pretty nice reward for everyone, if you are interested in foundry achievements and tips and such, especially if it came with some announcements about a slew of foundry content that ties into the new release. For the judging though, you'll have to take it as a learning experience and figure a better way…
I find a lot of RP locations when browsing the For Review section. I should write them down so I can easily revisit them. Check there and search for the RP tag.
One other trick I use is to put something under it. Rock or something so doesn't look weird. The kobolds are good, just make sure they don't get confused as not being part of the Cult.
I gave it a play and quite enjoyed the story. I like the humor. There were some little things here and there, but nothing major. -Emo guys have "Kobold" as their Group name and one still looks like a kobold. -Few other name issues like that throughout. -Floating barricades in the tunnels. -Hard to spot the chain at the end…
I was thinking of that, but since they are melting the bones out of the ice, I figured they would have melted that first before starting the ritual. Did the bonfires and water on the floor make the melting obvious enough? And thanks for playing and giving feedback. When I read the prompt for the contest, that dragon's…
Thanks for the useful suggestions. I've updated the dialogs and changed the barbarian fights to "fight to submission" so it fits the narrative better. And thanks re: the terrain. I had a lot of fun making it and really wanted some unique set pieces to make it memorable. I'll add a head cultist doing a chant or spell…
Here is my contest entry: NAME: Tomb of the White Dragon AUTHOR: @winin SHORT CODE: NW-DL7ULT2QV DESCRIPTION: The Arcanists Institute wants to hire you to find their missing associate and help him bring back a bone from a long-dead white dragon. But will you be able to succeed before the Cult of the Dragon learns of the…
I pushed Robobo in beta to link the foundry to the Gateway, so quest info and such could be accessed outside of game. An API would be great so other sites could form and pull info from the game, and you could accept a quest when you find one you like on the web.
"Morganna's Necklace" -Mechanically everything worked well, though you might want to make sure you can't go into the sewers before you check out the whole house. Someone may see a clicky and jump the gun. -The story was fairly simple, although I liked the premise. I would have liked to see it fleshed out so I get more than…
