Hey guys! I hope this finds any of you who are weathering the winter storm in the midwest well! I've seen in 2 posts here that some are referring to this as NWN Online? Or are you referring to NWN 1 or 2? I am just asking because for me I found this a bit misleading as this Neverwinter game isn't in or has absolutely…
At this point I don't know. The traffic may be nice but for those of us who build them we'd constantly have to build just so we wouldn't get bored of playing the same adventure over and over again. I was/am hoping that the dev's here understand the limitations and perhaps if not at launch but at some future date allow a…
Hi guys, I as well am one of the NWN1 old timers. I've had a few different usernames such as TearingtheWeave,Honor in Death, Entreri MoonBlade, among others. I too was a player/builder and admin'd a server called Daggerdale for a few yrs. I've been pc gaming since '04 and actually started with NWN. I also have 25 yrs. of…
And this qoute right here is why I think I have decided to just be a player and skip modding all together with this game. I'm excited to play but my hearts in building and with the limitations on only being able to build adventures has caused me to lose any interest in the Foundry. Unless upon release everything I have…
I HAVE THIS EXACT PROBLEM! :) I have a TON of FR novels. Not all of them but I probably an encroaching at least 100 or more. My wife constantly tries to get me to get rid of them. But you are correct I've been reading and collecting them for well over 15 yrs.
The more I read about the limitations of the cans and cant's related to modding here the less I am inclined to do so. I think at this point I will just play the game even though my heart lies as a builder. I'm just not feeling the idea that I am restricted to adventure building only. I prefer building persistent worlds.
Absolutely there was. The crux of my dilemma though is as a modding community we will not be able to make or add custom content which will hamper things. At least for me. However I am still going to give NW a chance I just hate the thought of being limited with my creations based on what the Foundry will or will not…
LOL..Actually that tidbit of info comes from the latest Elminster novel. Kick HAMSTER series of books though if you enjoy oldschool Realmslore and of course enjoy reading.
They already have. I playtest for D&D Next. Actually Elminster and The Simbul brought her back and Elminster was damn near dead and The Simbul gave her life to restore him. So another of the 7 Sisters is no more. As for the Sundering I take it that since Greenwood wasn't pleased with what 4.0 did to the Realms and he has…
Interesting...another question....As for modding will there be a server list where you can pick and choose what mod you want to play? Or is it going to be strictly relegated to Neverwinter adventures? I mean can I build a mod of say Cormyr or am I restrcited to just building an "adventure"?
Oh no lol...I completely understand it's NOT NWN3 or even in the series. I only compared it because it also allows use of a toolset and I thought the Aurora engine and community content is what preserved NWN for so long. I also think if it garners such a large modding community as NWN did that with a limited set amount of…
Oh I completely agree. And this is coming from a die hard NWN player/modder/admin. I only recently shut down my module. And although I've known of Neverwinter for some time I never considered it NWN3. After NWN2's dissapointment I always hoped a 3 would come out with a revamped Aurora toolset and a complete overhaul of the…
Well in a linear sense it is NWN's successor. Same setting and all with the D&D updated rules package etc. I know in a dev sense it's not because of everything from the play style to the toolset are completely different but this is the NEW Neverwinter. Repackaged and all shiny like a brand new Ferrari (We can hope :)).
What are the rules on community created content? Meaning will it be allowed like CEP for NWN etc. Are there just a base set of tiles or will we be able to create and implement our own tilesets? I thought I read somewhere that we will not be able to build custom items? If that is the case is there a reason why we can't?…
