Just played it, the maps are really nicely done. Only complaint might be the area right around the portal, seems to have been placed in a random and fairly empty part of the forest. Not a big deal, though. Speaking of the portal, there is a "Press F to Teleport" prompt even though you are unable to actually go anywhere.…
Just played Part 2, Blackrock Penitentiary. Thought it was really good, a step up from the opening act. Interesting characters, and very well-written. I like the idea and design of the penitentiary, and quite enjoyed this quest overall. Couple of minor issues: one somebody mentioned earlier is still there: "You didn't…
I'll add this one to my list, will try to get to it tonight. Would be great if you could play mine in return, info in sig. It's a dialogue-driven comedy and the average play time has dropped to 14 minutes, hoping to get some people to take a little longer to try to get it back up to 15 if possible. So just take it slow…
Congrats on getting featured status! Been meaning to play this quest for a while now, looking forward to getting around to it sometime this week, along with a whole bunch of other people.
Played through it today. It's solid. Simple story that feels like a single quest, if you want it to be a lengthier campaign it might be an idea to introduce a little more to the story that will draw us towards the second part. You tried for this a bit at the very end, perhaps a little more is needed overall (imo). Still…
My quest is no longer in the review pit, but the average play time is down to 14 minutes so I could use some plays to get it back up to over 15. If you're interested, it's a dialogue-driven comedy, info in sig.
Bumping this in the hope of getting a few more plays. Average play-time is down to 14 minutes, hopefully I can get a few people to play it and take their time (it still is a relatively short quest, 20 min or so) to help me out.
Tried to play this quest, unfortunately when I got to the part where I need to retrieve Kazen's Dagger, I couldn't pick it up, it just kept saying "Out of line of sight". Obviously may need to move it up a little as it could be buried in the ground. Or put it on the wagon. Up to this point, it's pretty solid. Just needs…
Just played Crow's Nest. Thought it was solid all the way around, including map design, story and characters. Enjoyed the jumping puzzle, once I figured it out. Played with a Level 60 CW and found the combat to be very easy. Fine as is, but you may want to make the final "boss" battle a little more challenging. I wouldn't…
Right now, all you can do is extra review exchanges with new authors, while your quest on the "New" page. Get it up over 20 plays, and if it's good enough it will rise up the page due to a high average rating, and it will get at least some plays after that. Once it's no longer "new", it disappears into the quest vortex. It…
Just played this one. It is quite refreshing to play a short quest since some can be fairly long, this one's short but sweet. That being said, you probably need to add some depth to the story since it is pretty basic at this point, and does end quickly. Writing is pretty funny but with a few typos: - You need to add a…
I'll add this to my list. You can play mine in return (info in sig). Hoping to get the average play time back up over 15 minutes, it's a dialogue-driven comedy.
I guess I should play this one, since at one point I was working on a quest called Cloak and Dagger, and named my pub that in the one I've completed so far and ask you to play. It's a dialogue-driven comedy, info in sig. Fell down to a 14-minute play average, so just take your time lol (which can basically be accomplished…
I'll add this one to my list. Hopefully you can play mine in return (info in sig). It's a dialogue-heavy comedy. A note about the "15-minute" point. I figured mine would be more in the 20-30 min range, but it has hovered around 15-17 minutes, and unfortunately just went down a "14-minute" average a few days ago, which…
Wow, this quest is awesome. I really enjoyed the story, maps, characters, basically everything about it. First time I've seen a "flashback" in the Foundry, extremely well done. I must have spent at least 5 minutes exploring the town map in appreciation, only to see it outdone by the very next map. I mean, I really don't…
I will definitely be playing this one. Looking forward to it, loved the first one! If you want to play mine (which also happens to deal with a wedding) and haven't already, link in sig.
Yeah, I noticed this while doing a bit of work yesterday. It would really be great if these insanely long save/load times could be cut down. Hopefully this continues.
It's definitely clear that a lot of work went into this quest. It's well written, but if I try to zero in on exactly what I would suggest as far as improvements go, I'd say work on getting the player engaged in the story more, early on. And yeah, the ending could use a little tweaking, story-wise. It's not bad though. Just…
Played this quest, and it is really quite good. You're very skilled at using the Foundry tool, I was going to say map-making but really the whole quest has a level of polish rarely seen, in a number of aspects. Definitely some great maps, loved the scene down by the water, looks great! Also think your use of cut-scenes is…
The point being that most of us spend our time in this section (along with perhaps General Discussion). Threads are far more likely to be noticed and read here. I just don't see a problem with it, at all. And I do read "review trade" posts, quite frequently.
There is absolutely no need for a sub - forum. The bottom line is that new authors desperately need help in getting a few plays at the start, and these early reviews are crucial in helping make those quests better. Moving them to a forum nobody visits doesn't do anybody any good.
Sounds like this is a good one, will add to my list (may take a day or two to get to it). I could always use an extra play on mine, dialogue driven short comedy, info in sig.
Good grief, only 5? I am going to start by saying the main thing is probably faster save and load times, but not using one of my 5 on this because I don't know how technically possible it is. But it is so frustrating, you make a bunch of changes and have it save in 5 seconds. Then realize you forgot to fix the spelling of…
Going to bump this, because it's a travesty that it still only has 24 reviews (47 plays). It really is a great quest. I was also going to ask if Part 2 was coming, but it looks like the thread has been updated to indicate the second installment is on the way. If you want to try a quest with some story & emotion, check this…
Usually there's no communication at all, so I appreciate the update even if it doesn't contain a lot of info. If you're not in the room, it can be hard to get any concrete information. That does bring up the question, however, of whether or not there actually is anyone in the room.
You would need to make a copy of the "neighbourhood" map for each time you needed to use it, as you mentioned. I am not sure if there is a limit on the total # of maps per quest, I'm sure there probably is but I have no idea what the # is. If you decide to go this route, definitely a good idea to find out first. If you…
Played your quest, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great story, and you hit all the right beats for the traditional "film noir" style (aside from possibly some romance - perhaps with one of the Mrs. M's?). Good characters and maps, challenging encounters, solid all the way through. It was long, but never got boring. Hastings…
Sorry for the delay, played your quest and it is a very well-executed story. Starts out light and gets more interesting as it goes along. Good characters and solid maps. Loved the fortune teller. I don't have a lot of corrections to suggest, didn't even notice any typos, you seem to have polished it up quite nicely. A…
Once the author puts it back online, Mind of Darkness is one to play with a great storyline. Also Bonderleaf's Thorough Aggregator, if you haven't played that one yet. And also, the criminally under-appreciated Obsidian Enclave: A Birthday Affair. More people really need to check that one out.
