Thanks for the heads-up, I must confess this is welcome news for someone a bit down about foundry lately.

There is now a Free-Camera mode in the Preview Editor.

If this is what I think it is I am jumping for joy!!!!!
The 3D Editor made me dance for joy until I couldn't build effectively because the camera was tied to a character who would fall through placed objects. That is the big reason I haven't made any content yet.

Now, if I read that correctly, I can finally create content. :D

I'm not a glass half empty kind of guy but where are gelatinous cubes?

This is like the green fire for warlocks in WoW. I don't even know if they ever got that 10 years later.

Awesome updates. Still no true bosses or dragons, still good additions.
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

The Foundry will be disabled on Playtest for the first round of Fury of the Feywild testing. We'll be sure to let folks know when we open it up!

THIS ^ is what worries me it this post.

Week of downtime at least, anybody?

I don't mind if the foundry tool is a week offline on the test server, still ~3 weeks left to test the new stuff.

However I hope the don't break the NWO live servers, when the release module 1 like the did in STO with the legacy of romulus expansion. How long was the the tool offline in STO, 1 month?

That is only effecting the Preview Foundry which has these new features. The Live Foundry should be up and running continuously.

A month without the Foundry being usable would just about kill this game.

Because the non-foundry content really isn't that good.

The Preview Editor now supports editing the positions of Teleporters, Traps, Reward Chests, Combat Jobs, Sounds, and Respawn Points.

... but still not doors, eh? Hahahah

Seriously, like everyone else, freecam editing is the one I'm most interested in.

[*]Encounters (Special): Adventurers.
• The NPCs in these encounters use modified versions of player powers. They come in Friendly and Enemy varieties.
• Classes: Cleric, Wizard, and two types of Guardian Fighters are currently represented.

This is what I'm excited about.

Glad to see we are finally getting some new changes. I know with the new single player campaign mode they are focusing more on solo play. They really should work on adding solo bosses to foundry's. I love how creative many fellow authors are in the way they set there boss fights in encounter waves. I know that takes a certain amount of creativity and work arounds. Just wish they would give us a list of Solo boss encounters they already have in the game from leveling quests.

Also would like to see the foundry token idea's many people have floated around added. If there was a companion, or solid well rounded purple gear able to be received as rewards you would give players more reason to play foundry missions. Really happy with the adventurer change though.

I hope redcaps aren't too different than my redcap in mission 2. Heh.

I hope to see some treasure/reward updates in a future patch.

Again, I don't think Foundry rewards should ever be competitive with other stuff, just... wow. It's so thin right now.

It would be really nice, because at least then you could entice people into another area of your dungeon for a side quest. Right now there is ZERO motivation to do anything but plow through at 90 miles per hour without looking left, right, or even center.

Meh..... Still no map saving, sitting animations, OR logic, Random number generator, or Gelatinous Cubes to note a few. Still excited though as anything more we can work with is a PLUS.

Some cosmetic changes

Costumes: ok good, but they need to allow more non-armor costumes for all races
Custom Interior Kit: Elven City: Again nice, but what about floors, windows etc for existing assets
Encounters (New): Redcaps, Trolls, Fomorians, Cyclopses.
Encounters (Special): Adventurers.
The NPCs in these encounters use modified versions of player powers. They come in Friendly and Enemy varieties.
Classes: Cleric, Wizard, and two types of Guardian Fighters are currently represented.
Yeah I can see peoples excitement here
Maps: Sharandar and its instanced areas. I think more Foundry creators like to make their own maps, but this is nice for people starting out.
Objects: All new Feywild assets - Props, FX, and Skies.
The Search feature has had a significant upgrade! Nice again, but this should have been fixed awhile back
Actors are now always visible in an Encounter even when fully zoomed out. hmm does this affect the nice animation of appearance when you got within range?
Drowcave buildings now have doors. More doors for ALL races please!
Fantasy Forest trees have an updated texture that tiles more gracefully.
Fantasy Forest trees have had a major optimization pass.
Again, any texture improvements are good.
Keybinds have been updated to support the current suite of commands. This gets a big Whoo Hoo it it means what I think it means!
The Delete Characters button is now clearer in its purpose. mkay
The Preview Editor now supports editing the positions of Teleporters, Traps, Reward Chests, Combat Jobs, Sounds, and Respawn Points. All good, BUT we need to be able to move NPCs there also
The Quest Path has been repaired in several prefab maps, including Stormcaller Caves, Sanatorium, and Shadowfire Caverns. Fairy HAMSTER trail needs to be implemented better in preview altogether
There is now a Free-Camera mode in the Preview Editor. BIG WHOO HOO HERE
When changing an Encounter, Actor properties are now reset. There is a confirmation dialog to help prevent wiping Actor properties by accidentally changing an Encounter. Mkay

All said and done, I see a few things that were asked for in the forum, but there is still a LOT that needs to be implemented in the Foundry.
Keep em coming Cryptic, we'll take all you got!

I approve ofm ost points here, but I just had to point out, using a "finished" and offical basic map as blueprint can make for very interesting maps. :3

I played The Wobbly Leg yesterday and I have to say the level of detail he achieved in his exterior maps would not have been possible without using the base Tower District Map.
