No Cheating now, just your top 5 picks-- no flaming please
1) Savable/sharable maps --Create a map, and have it available for ANY other quest and enable it to be shared with others.
2) More raw building details -- Floors, walls, ceilings and for gods sake Windows! and walls WITH windows ;-) And the ability to create multi-level buildings (ok that was a little bit of a cheat)
3) Better 3D mode manipulation -- if we can't fly at least let us point and click instead of trying to hover a reticule over an object, only to plummet to our deaths as we missed and hovered on the steps/ramp we used to get there in the first place.
4) OR logic
5) Sitting animations! -- Just basic standard ambient character animations
And just because it's my thread:
Honorable mention) Simple animations -- Allow us to create simple animations like, "swing" (like the signs), point A to Point B (x,y and z axis)
3. Single guard encounters for each class so we can make more diverse hero characters to accompany the player.
4. Custom made loot. We should be able to give a single blue piece of equipment with certain stat bonuses to choose from, with a custom name and flavor text. Example: Sword of Kobold Flaying +X Power.. "Given to you by Mordenkainen for the purpose of flaying Kobolds."
5. Better search features, which they are supposedly working on.

ASAP? Hmm.
1. Everything that is used in the game.
2. Better, working search function.
3. Working music with more variety (music for non-hostile environments.)
4. Immortal "Guard" encounters that do no damage (but appear to be fighting).
5. Ability to toggle an encounter to be a GUARD.

neverwinter1776Member, Neverwinter Beta UsersPosts: 0Arc User
1. A generic encounter with the skills (and weapons) vaguely reminiscent of each class. 1 monster encounter each, 1 guard encounter each. Easy difficulty. Let us skin them. A mini-cheat to the thread, I suppose, but also a silent monster (and guard) of animal type. So that you can skin it as a tiger, a wolf, or a horse... and the horse won't snarl, the wolf won't whinny, and the chicken won't roar.
2. As stated before, all the decor in the world. Right now, I am particularly annoyed by so few statues. But that's not the only thing missing... we all know what I mean here (and yes, it's been mentioned, but I'm adding a vote of support).
3. Ditto on some way to prevent me from dying and having to go through multiple annoyances because the platform I was standing on vanished during 3 D editing.
4. Another ditto for more and more varied music.
5. Ability to color items. As noted in another thread... let me make something sandstone colored. You can even remove the neon colors and give us only a few, limited options so people don't make pink polka-dot mushroom houses (although, that could be really cool if done nicely rather than just to be stupid. Just sayin').
Breaching the Swarm NW-DUXUHQWNP
Pick your side, take a stand, save--or kill--your former allies.
1. Ability to lock objects so they cannot be edited. Or to place objects on different layers.
2. Ability to import custom objects and a approval system for imported objects.
3. A music editor with various loops pre approved by the developers.
4. Ability to animate objects in a separate editor for cut scenes.
5. Co-authored foundry missions.

1. Dragons, allcolorsINCLUDING a dracolich. (I really, really, really need a dracolich.)
2. At least 5% of the creatures from the Monster Manual. Pretty sure we're all tired of fighting goblins, trolls, illithids, and orcs.
3. The ability to customize encounter abilities and weapons held in their hands.
4. More sound effects / music (specifically non-combat music)
5. BOSS ENCOUNTERS
Good grief, only 5? I am going to start by saying the main thing is probably faster save and load times, but not using one of my 5 on this because I don't know how technically possible it is. But it is so frustrating, you make a bunch of changes and have it save in 5 seconds. Then realize you forgot to fix the spelling of one word, correct it, and have to sit there for 90 seconds or longer while it "saves". Bouncing back and forth from 3D mode to the foundry a few times just to position a few items, can take 20 minutes or more thanks to the crazy-slow loading screens.
1. Many more details, especially Floors, Walls, Ceilings, etc. What is there now, is a ridiculously limited selection of options.
2. Dragons.
3. Sitting animations. (this should be easy, because there are npc's sitting in the game).
4. OR logic.
5. Music that works, and a lot more choices.
1. Gelatanous Cubes
2. An Ooze type creature with six facets, three of which meet in a vertex.
3. A evenly sided box shaped semi-amorphous semi-transparent creature.
4. That regular hexagonal creature that moves around eating dead matter in dungeons keeping them clean.
5. A boss character that's a giant evenly six sided amorphous Living Wall!!! >:-)
*sings* "I like Gammera! He's so neat!!! He is full of turtle meat!!!"
"Hah! You are doomed! You're only armed with that pathetic excuse for a musical instrument!!!" *the Savage Beast moments before Lonnehart the Bard used music to soothe him... then beat him to death with his Fat Lute*

2)Better lighting control. Very hard to light areas, it's either too bright or too dark, bi real happy in between
3)More building details. as mentioned, floors, WINDOWS (interior and exterior), Door handles! etc
4) Softer kinder music. Not every instance wants to be heralded in by dark ominous drum thumping music

1) More Peasant/Noble/street clothes for NPCs, allow us to at least color the ones you have before we customize
2) Map saving
3) More assets/detail items
4) Ok I"ll waste a slot here and say -- BIGGER or adjustable type in the 2d editor Chat
5) Offline creation - online testing -- So we can place and light maps, but have to be online to test mobs and.... Not sure of the logistics here
1) Working patrol speed control
2) Ability to make objects move (even if it uses patrol points)
3) Ability to have a conversation with multiple NPCs at once
4) Floating chat triggers from waypoints
5) Offline mode would be great, but I don't see it ever happening so how about ability to remove default costume pieces on customized costumes.
NW-DPTTECLTF - Cindy Jones and the Holy Stein. A simple but hopefully entertaining foray into the world of Foundry.
-OR logic (though this can be faked)
-More animations
-Savable maps
-RESIZING OBJECTS (I mean, really?)
-Many many more music choices, or let us use our own music
2. Let us set up the animations and sounds some. So that Ogre I changed to look like a bear or spider actually animates its attacks.
3. Let us import a character from the game into the foundry for testing.
4. Boss fight encounters.
5. Time scaled rewards. So that a 45 minute long foundry might count for more than one of the four required for dailies.

Ability to direct the camera during dialogues.
Ability to set different trigger types to the same asset, instead of just multiple triggers of the same type.
Built in OR logic.
Ability to give new instructions to an NPC after satisfying a trigger, without the need to replace that asset with a copy.
Ability to have direct control over "golden trail" paths, instead of having it automatically set the direction/placement for you.

1: Modifying objects en masse.
2: Setting Defaults for objects (such as Y-Axis Relative)
3: Scaling Objects
4: Turning off the Sun in Outdoor Maps
5: Volume slider in the Music Part. For whatever reason, the main Neverwinter theme is 8000 times louder than anything in the previews and I find myself straining to hear it, turn everything up, then nearly blow up my speakers the next time I'm on character select.

Agreed on REAL timers
And a GROUP items (our Own Cluster) would be nice
Monster Groups - More General ones, or better classification of them so I don't have to use Kobolds as Human evil guards.
Boss Encounter - Be able to classify a Monster as a Boss and have it be a bit harder, and also show the health bar like PW Quests.
Clothing - Be able to select any Armor/Clothes type rather then just the parts of a full armor Teir set.
Larger Creatures - I found models for Giants, but if you touch scale they shrink to human size. Dragons are stuck as babies. And neither of them have their own encounter group so they all act a bit strange (Back to #1).
Basic movement of objects - Allow us to give a Start and Destination for an object and when triggered it moves.

Thanks for the suggestions, all! We're taking a look at these!
Very cool, thanks!
My five then...
1.) Give players a reason to run Foundry quests. Whether it's a whole new range of rewards or just better control over in-quest rewards, etc., we need something. No one really has a reason to run longer Foundry quests other than for fun. I have a quest that takes 3-4 hours to complete. Players usually end up doing it in multiple sessions, which works and is fine. But my quest, even though it's very long, is punished in the current system if players are just looking to grind XP and loot. Is there any way we can reward Foundry gameplay according to the investment of time it takes to complete a quest while still curbing exploiting the Foundry? That would help everyone's Foundry quest that's over 15 minutes long in length. And it will certainly encourage authors to create more and be more creative in their quests. Why take the time to develop a long, solid story if the bulk of players out there are only playing/rating/reviewing the 15 minute quests? Cryptic, you need to give the Neverwinter community better reasons to continue to play Foundry quests.
2.) 3D Preview Mode fixes. Ability to toggle collision detection on/off on the fly in the 3D Editing Preview mode without having to restart/reset the environment/storyline position. At the same time, please fix the problem with copied/pasted objects not having a visible box to adjust them as well as not being able to adjust things like traps and portals in 3D Preview mode.
3.) Fix bugs/memory leaking for larger (eg: 1500 detail) maps. With quests that have a lot in the maps I'm experiencing crashes after an hour or editing.
4.) More logic, triggers, timers, and RNG. AND, OR, XOR, NOT, etc. With this it would be nice to script movement of details just like we can script movement of encounter patrols. These features would make Foundry quests SO much more dynamic.
5.) Allow for a less-linear experience. Let us run side-quests, etc. This doesn't have to be tracked in the quest tracker, but something to give us control over direction our stories and objectives go.

2. More assets, interior and exterior rooms/ areas as well as detail models more more more, when you think you have gone overboard and overdid it, you didn't add 100,000 more models and details. Things Cryptic has used in game, plans to use in game and other general, generic, as well as the strange or bizarre.
3. Must have a redesigned foundry interface in game, redesigned with a new or improved search feature. We need catagories like combat heavy, story heavy, puzzle, group content, ect. It is very detrimental to foundry authors to have a quest not in the new list anymore but not enough reviews to be considered "Best". There should be a Top 50 of each catagory so there is a more equal chance to be seen and get plays.
4. We need more monster varieties, start with 90-95% of the creatures in Monster Manual I and add more at least on a monthly basis. If only basic models, we can make them different looking. BOSSES! We need bosses while we're on the subject of more monster variety, even if it is just a basic five, that have a stage or two of add waves, each one of the five can be a template type, undead, dragon, ect, ect.
5. Collaborative foundry tools, make it possible for an author to share permissions with players in their friends list that they can select certain people from to collaborate with to produce group made foundry content.
How about upping the rewards in Foundry quests depending on several factors...
1. The length (amout of time to completion) of the quest.
2. Number of objectives.
3. The number of maps/size of maps used.
Maybe a chance at high level gear by completing long quests and decent gear for the questors class lf Lady Luck doesn't smile upon them.
