  • I've advertised all over the Zone chat. It seems no one has a spare to sell, or at least not at a time when I've been on. If I ever see one advertised though... These lockboxes are for the birds. Cryptic might be making money with them, but I hope the Ghost of Christmas Past pays them a visit this year and reminds them…
  • Good Lord, if that is close to the real drop percentage, that's incredibly bad. I had assumed it was something like 2% to 5%. Ugh. I'm done. I like the looks of the VTOL, but not that much, and I've already spent far more than I wanted to trying to get it.
  • Make a wish you say? Alllllllllrighty then! I wish.... ....Millennium City were filled out to the borders with some new content, in such a way that you could level from 1-40 without ever leaving the city to go to the desert or Canada or whatever. Sure, for some of my characters, visiting other locales is cool. But for my…
  • Oh and in case anyone is wondering... There is a perk you can get if you die enough times and lose all your stars fighting Cybertwerp. I have it.
  • Last time I ran a speed test on my connection, it was 33.3Mbps Down / 5.9Mbps Up. I run this game on an Alienware M17x with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560m Video Card. Yet, apparently its my ISP and my computer? It's not like I'm trying to run Champions Online (which is hardly a tour de force in terms of graphics) on a 486 with…
  • I think we're seeing the swan song for CO. It's obvious that CO is getting only about 1/10th of the attention and resources that STO is getting, and probably about 1/50th the attention and resources of Neverwinter. The content going into the game is about 90% lock box gambling fluff. This is the only way Cryptic can make…
  • This right here ^^^^^ If'n y'all remember, I made my objections heard about the Cyberlord portion of this series: http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=236401 So I tried this today, and was bitterly disappointed. 1. Another "You must have a team to do content" entry into the series. This was the most…
  • In my followup, I noted that on my Level 40, I had no issues completing the fight against Cyberlord. It was my Level 25 Force build that couldnt bring him down. The big difference seems to be 2 things. 1. Someone in an earlier post noted that Cyberlord is not scaling properly. If this is true, that explains alot. 2. My…
  • Ran both Mission 1 and Mission 2 on my 40 Power Armor, had no issues at all, it was a cakewalk. That tells me 2 things: 1. The missions are being optimized for max level characters. 2. If you have a below 40 character you try to run against Cyberlord, it needs to be a well optimized build to succeed. It's unfortunate that…
  • I'm running a FF Force / Power Armor build, Level 25. I suppose if this new series was intended for Level 40's, and built around Level 40 characters, it would make sense if a 25 couldn't do it, even with the level scaling. I make it through the packs of henchmen just fine, it's just the boss which is the issue. Going to…
  • I was incredibly disappointed to hear there is no plans to expand the Nemesis Creator. Nemesis is one of the most unique things in the game, and is most uniquely "comic book" and to top it all off, one of the things that alot of people have been asking for work on. This is a major bummer. :frown:
  • I had an Alert this weekend, where it was finish off the Baddie AND their cohorts. We finish off most of the cohorts, and take down the boss with about 20 seconds to spare. I notice one of the cohorts off to the side shooting at us, so I rush over and start beating on him. Everyone else stands around and watches, as if the…
  • Yeah, ditto on that. I count myself lucky that the times I've had interest in a lockbox item (be it STO or Champions) I got the item within a 10 key span of box openings. The only exception being my Temporal Science Ship in STO, which I bought outright from the Auction House. I figured if I went after it with keys, I…
  • Ouch...shot through the heart, and Cryptic's to blame.... Oh well.
  • They sell weapons with Questionite??? /facepalm I gotta ask, where is this? On the regular Questionite store, or through a vendor somewhere? Wish id known this a few hours ago. :frown:
  • Since we are making requests, I'd like one of these: http://youtu.be/VYKdayl7BHM
  • I gotta say I really enjoy this event. It gives me (Level 35) a chance to spend more time in the city, which I hardly ever see. Perhaps we could have a "Foxbat steals Christmas" event this year? With Fanboys dressed as Elves, and Foxbat dressed as Santa Claus? That would be fantastic!
  • Terracota is AWESOME!!!! Very very well done! Lots of good creative concepts, but Terracota stole the show for me.
  • Benny is my envisioned leader for the Cobra Lords AFTER the events of "The Westside Intrigue Culmination" where the Golden Dragon burns the gang leaders (except Kevin Poe) to a BBQ crisp.
  • So I have some champions approaching the creation of some Nemesis, so I took some time and developed these concepts: 1. Sidney Pryce - Government agent, rogue spy http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k571/StaavisRepublic/Champions%20Online/Rogues%20Gallery/screenshot_2012-09-24-23-31-19.jpg 2. Purple Pose - A "girlfriend"…
  • FOXBAAAT! We need MORE Foxbat, not less! OP doesn't know a good thing when he sees it!
  • Maybe they can do one of those 0 Point Modifiers in the Rank Up interface, where if you select the 0 Point Rank Up, the Cape Fabric is not shown. Your arms are still outstretched though, so if using the Steelhawk underarm wings, it would look pretty killer! Wonder how difficult it would be to make this happen?
  • ^ This right here! Excellent post! Cryptic, make it so!
  • Love this idea! Would love to see a more in-depth, active and varied Nemesis system, and this would be a great mission!
  • I like the random Nemesis encounters idea. So one day, you foil Nemesis #1. The next day, you might encounter minions of Nemesis #3. Meanwhile, Nemesis #2 and #6 might be teaming up with a completely new plot to take you down, so you might get some mixed mobs and a team-up Nemesis encounter. Yes, I like that idea very…
  • I like that idea!
  • Good tip! I'll take a look at that too.
  • That's not exactly true... Batman: Joker, Penguin, Scarecrow, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy Iron Man: Mandarin, Living Lazer, Blizzard, Count Nefaria, Madame Masque Superman: Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Doomsday, Metallo, Bizzaro All those enemies listed, I would say have "Nemesis" Level status for their corresponding heroes. And…
  • Yeah, this right here. I've felt like I was in limbo, because I didn't have anything to tell me that missions were available there. I knew zones existed for my level range, it's just a matter of I didn't want to go there if none of the missions were unlocked, you know? All this info clears alot of things up.
  • It's too bad we don't have more zones and area that are city for Levels 35-40. It seems once you leave MC around Level 25, it's nothing but "exotic" locations. Monster Island, Lemuria, Canadian Wilderness, rinse and repeat. I have the most fun in game, when I'm in the city, fighting in Westside or Downtown. I once made a…
  • But so is a hero fighting more than one enemy in their career. :)
  • Ahhh, so it's like Blizzard's phasing technology they used in WOTLK. Makes sense.
  • Thanks Rune for the Awesome writeup! And everyone else too! All good info. Back to MI I will go!
  • I've been getting them about 1 per day. On average, I'll play 2-3 hours a night, so the 6 hours timer is up by the next time I get on, but not usually again before I log again. It's a tad bit frustrating to have my Nemesis escape so often, especially right in the middle of me cleaning her clock, because I'm like Captain…
  • And those are the ones with 6 hour timers, right?
  • Last night I did a mission that took me to PRIMUS Data Center in MC, which when completed, led me directly to the PRIMUS Secret Base in Canada. Is it reasonable to assume that I'm getting near the end, or do I have more minion mashing to do yet?
  • Interesting. Is there anything to do in post-Apoc VB for Level 35-40? I remember going there back in the 20's and it seemed the zone was pretty much 20's only. I'll have to do some looking around. Currently I don't have any missions to send me anywhere in those locations, so maybe I need to knock out a level or two before…
  • These are very cool! LOVE the Swashbuckler! You got the old 30's style adventure look down in that one. Britannia is a very good looking heroine. Got the Brit theme down for sure. Have you considered going up one or two hues in the red and blue? seems rather subdued, and generally "patriot" type characters wear their…
  • Hero Name: The Spook Theme Song: "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers Why: Because The Spook is former CIA. It seems so very fitting. ;) Hero Name: Sentinel Theme Song: "Green Lantern - First Flight" by Robert J. Kral Why: Since I first saw this movie, I liked the theme. Kind of techno, has a "fast" feeling to it, so when…
  • I can't speak to a specific process in regards to creating my Champions, because the process has been different for each hero (or villian) I created. But I can give a rundown of how some of my current heroes (and some villians) came to be: (Hero) - Sentinel: Being a long time fan of Iron Man, dating back to my comic book…
  • Yeah, but the Valerian Scarlet bug IS a showstopper, if you can't progress through the Vibora Bay crisis. I hit that bug the other night. I won't be playing again until it's fixed, because there is no reason to, since I can't progress.
  • Ok, so I will begin the sharing with some of the random VILLIANS that act as Nemesis to a variety of my characters. Of course, just because I created them as villians, doesn't mean they can't be a starting point for a new hero costume! Hope someone finds something they like! Valerian Karpov This is a Russian Power Assist…
  • Ummm, yes please :) And speaking of inspired by all but forgotten 80's TV classics, how about this... http://youtu.be/VYKdayl7BHM and this... http://youtu.be/HBd6ighzqYA and let's not forget... http://youtu.be/THZD5YPLlX0 and finally.... http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/02/viper-battlestar.jpg Some other…
  • So I have an update :) First, I wanted to share two new characters I made: Moros Moros, is the personification of impending doom, who drives mortals to their deadly fate. He is one of the offspring of Nyx (Night), who had conceived him without male intervention, and brother of the Moirai (Fates). Moros appears when mortal…
  • Thanks for all the advice guys, but I gave up the frustration. This mission just wasn't my cup of tea I guess. And while I would have prefered a solo end to the mission, rather than this particular end, I dont blame Cryptic. Anyways, back to the grind.
  • What healing devices? Seems there is only Laser drones which annhilate you in 3 seconds. I spent more time dead than I did alive. And, to top it off, you don't "Level Up" to match the fight, like you do in an Alert. Instead of fighting at Level 30 like you would in an Alert, you fight at your own Level, which means if you…
  • All I wanted was the XP out of it. Figured being a special event, the XP might be good. Can't even get it, and I wasted time collecting evidence, which did nothing but slow down my leveling, since you don't get anything until the end.
  • Actually, the colors are part of the homage... "Captain Awesome" aka Dr. Devon Woodcomb (from the series "Chuck") is where I took the name from, and in honor of Dr. Devon Woodcomb, I used powder blue and gold, which are the colors of University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where Devon attended Med School with Chuck's…
  • Very cool! (The extra pics)
  • Huntress is my favorite as well. The color scheme, and how well it fits together, it's a good concept. She appears to have a bit of "influenced by" in her design, compared to The Huntress from JLU. But is distinct enough to be her own character.
