Champions Costume Exchange

Fun fact: Did you know that you can share costumes configurations with friends? If you've got a costume you want to help on or want to share, don't just describe it or screenshot it -- send it.

This thread's going to be a place for people to share their costumes with the world. When you're in the Edit Costume window, just click Save to take a snapshot. (Yes, it's a jpeg. I have no idea how the game gets all the info it needs from a jpeg, but it works.) If you send that snapshot to a friend, they can load that as a costume configuration on one of their characters -- on the Edit Costume window, just Load one of the snapshots you've got set up.

(This feature's been around for a while, but most of the old snapshots were attachments in the old forums. You can get details at the CO Wiki, including where to find the screenshots folder.)

Upload the jpegs to a site like Photobucket, then you can link to them below. Please remember that one of the reasons to share costumes is so other people can try them, so don't share anything you wouldn't cloned.

So, what costume are you proudest of? Got something to share with the world? Link it below!

Agreed, its good to have someone around. If for no other reason then to remind us we arnt the forgotten delinquents of the group.

But i'm thinking TT needs to start the ball rolling. I know he has been popping into game recently, but I'm guessing most of us have yet to see him. So, I guess what i'm saying is....

Show it off Mr. TT!

Ok, so I will begin the sharing with some of the random VILLIANS that act as Nemesis to a variety of my characters.

Of course, just because I created them as villians, doesn't mean they can't be a starting point for a new hero costume!

Hope someone finds something they like!

    Valerian Karpov

This is a Russian Power Assist setup. I developed 2 storylines for my Power Armor characters. Full Power Armor, which is like Iron Man, and Power Assist which is like a partial armor that enhances the wearer. Karpov uses a Power Assist setup.

    Weapons Set: Any

    Sting

Sting is sort of the anti-Wasp from Avengers. Small, but deadly, a master of poisons.

Weapons Set: Intended to use a poison type power set.

    Slice

Slice is an up and coming Lieutenant for VIPER, having progressed through the ranks by the attrition of other Lieutenants at the hands of the Champions.

Weapons Set: Blades, Fighting Claws or Martial Arts

    Sidney Price

Ms. Price is an "Amanda Waller" type. Government spook, spy, assassin, and anything else you can think of.

    Weapons Set: Munitions or Unarmed

    http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k571/StaavisRepublic/Champions%20Online/Costume%20Exchange/Costume_C_Carmichael_SidneyPrice_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_399877245.jpg

    Kolomonn

Intergalactic Warlord, in the vein of Kang, Darkseid, etc.

Weapons Set: Brick, Heavy Arms or mystical

    Intersection

Intersection is the world's foremost super-nerd, whose intellect is 10 fold, and whose tools allow him to be a virtual intersection of all data streams in the world.

    Weapons Set: Gadgeteer

    Mr. Woolsey

Hank Woolsey was a shop teacher in North Dakota until lightning hit his school. The electricity travelled through the conduits and struck him. It drove him to madness. Or maybe it was the various shop accidents that took his hand and his other arm. No one really knows.

    Weapons Set: Any

    Frigidaire

An ice suit concept in the vein of Mr. Freeze (Batman) or Blizzard (Iron Man), but with the style of a 1950's kitchen appliance.

    Weapons Set: Ice

    Badboy Benny

I envisioned Badboy Benny as the new leader of the Cobra Lords after Hi-Pan's double cross left Frank Zarretti dead. Benny has a toughness nobody can match, after a motorcycle accident required the amputation of his left arm and leg.

    Weapons Set: Brick, Munitions

That is one of the problems with many photo-sharing websites: They automatically rename the file. Flickr, for example, is useless for sharing costume files. :frown:

I just noticed that the Wiki page is missing the location of the hero files on a Vista system. That is -

    C Drive > Users > Public > Games > Cryptic Studios > Champions Online > Live > Screenshots

Not usually a huge deal, but just in case someone really needed it mapped out for them there is no harm in posting the info. But basically, it seems, if you can find the Champions Online folder, everything else is the same all the way to the Screenshots folder.

Of all of my heroes, this is the one that folks commented on the most.

    Chocolate Rampage

    Milk Chocolate justice (with almonds).

But I suppose I should also introduce my main.

I would like to share these costumes Ive created, i don't know if you can use these in-game since they've been renamed, but since they are pretty much all copyrighted, that is probably a good thing. Most of these have probably been done a million times anyway. Sorry if this is against the rules, but I couldn't stop myself.

I think you were right to change the names to keep the copyrighted heroes unplayable, but I think it does help to demonstrate the strength of the Character Creator.

    Blue Willow

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_BlueWillow-difbelt_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_444018191.jpg

About a year ago I kept seeing all of these heroes in beautiful white with blue costume. One really stood out and seemed to remind me of the colors in the china patterns I use every night at dinner. Blue Willow is my wife's fav since childhood so she bought a set long ago.

So I did my best to combine as many elements as I could to create the feel of a the female character describe in the Blue Willow fable. I even made many parts metal to offer the shiny look of finely crafted chinaware. I tried to make her Asian, yet other worldly, which is why her eyes glow.

She could be used for almost any of the Arches or power sets. The Glacier, obviously, as well as The Tempest or The Squall. But I could also see a good rationale for The Grimoire or any spell / mind caster as a possibility. In fact, I could see her as any Arch that does not use modern or futuristic technology, but even there, with the right bio, she seems quite portable to me.

Feel free to use her with my blessings, heroes.

    P. S. - I forgot I had created a male version...

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_Changtse1_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_457415923.jpg

Could use them as a team. :-)

    Edit - tweaked belt.

I'm (as many here) a CoH refugee, 8 year veteran thats looking for a new place called 'home'. Ingame i already met some very friendly peeps, looks good :D

Now my question, is anyone skilled with the charactercreation able to recreate any of my main 5 characters?

Okay, okay, Zed, I'll get to posting files when I can... :)

Edit: Here you go. In the interest of saving space, I'm just posting links - visuals are in my thread.

    Spider-Bat

    Short Circuit

    Dork Knight

    Disarm

    Detroit Iron

    Captain Americlown

    Happifun Security System X-4

    Blackwing

    Backfire

    Autochatban (Happifun's nemesis)
Originally designed to enforce quiet in a library, it went rampant, and now seeks to silence everything everywhere...

    Mickey's Attorney (Dork Knight's nemesis)
Mickey who? Don't ask. They say that if you say His Name three times, creatures from the depths of Hell will appear, and slap you with a Writ of Cease and Desist +5.

    Crimson Cranium (Captain Americlown's nemesis)
Before the Ringling Brothers Super-Soldier Program selected Captain Americlown, they tried the procedure on a volunteer ringmaster. He became vastly more intelligent, stronger, and faster - but went insane when he discovered his new appearance terrified children.

The other image files seem to have disappeared somewhere in cyberspace - I'll reupload them again later.

A few new heroes from Zed B.

Energizer - My newest heroine. Formerly know as Snow Bunny, she became The Energizer thanks to a great build by Tammy Waffle on the NPW forum.

Someday I hope to give her a proper back story, but for right now she and her energized toys are having too much fun kickin' butt.

Shaz-bot is my other current Hero. That's an intentional pun since he is an electric generating robot. Get it? CURRENT hero?
{ sigh } They say that if you have to explain a joke... Anyway, his build exist thank to KenpoJuJitsu3 build for Storm Bringer.

Digging down in the bowels of my C Drive and found a few of the heroes from our old CCE Thread that others had made and that I had saved to my PC to study and learn from. When you see two nearly identical creations, one is so that a Silver Player would be able to use it on day one before purchasing any added costume sets.

Some other people's Heroes as well as my own.

I'll fix it soon to show each individually, but for now, feel free to visit Zed's Picasa page. Enjoy!

Just a note for folks with under performing systems like I have...

If you make a hero and your hero ends up with a white square on his chest like the hero below...

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_BetaMax1_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_413515079.jpg

The file above is broken, so this file replaces it.
    http://s1310.photobucket.com/user/tyrolordofsoderfjord/media/Co%20Heroes/Costume_ZedBrightlander_BetaMax3_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_447560804.jpg.html

It's likely your computer settings are too low to show the symbol as intended. However, if your stuck with the setting (due to you being stuck with your system for the time being), AND if your hero MUST have that Beta symbol (or any symbol), you can get the same symbol by using the Disc option as shown below.

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_BetaMax2_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_413515126.jpg

It's not a perfect solution but it is ONE solution that works. Another solution is to create a costume like Zed B with a white top (or mostly white top) so that the white square blends into the rest of the top. I have noticed that a few symbols leave a black square. Again, you will need a black top.

The burden of my low powered PC is that it allowed me to become quite creative in my designs to work around this problem. I hope to post a few of them soon.

Three very simple Healer costumes I created.

This first one - Medic One - used the flag of Swiss Confederation on the chest then did my best to match the red part to the rest of the costume with only a few accents of white.

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_MedicOne1_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_413675003.jpg

It's pretty plain what I did on Power Switch, I think. The blue is the color of the on switch on my PC. Note - The file below is broken, but it is very easy to recreate. Also, the link has a much nicer version.

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_Power%2520Switch2_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_413347561.jpg

An improved version of P S is here.

Bluestar is made the exact opposite of my main - Zed B. Instead of a white square, a black square appears if I try to use it so I use a mainly black costume to fix the effect.

    Costume_ZedBrightlander_Bluestar_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_407213207.jpg

I know that these costumes seem overly simple and they might even look like junk on a "real PC" but I like the simplicity. As always, capes are optional.

Two costumes of the same hero. The Flag of England is used with white.

White with some red for hightlights.

A super, simple sample of a creative use of a flag.

I liked one of DinahMight's heroes, Battleship, so much I had to use it as the basis for a hero I call Spacehawk.

98 percent is still her talent and I loved the these color combos. I only change four things. The hair, because I do not have it, the boots, the chest piece (I also do not have) and added a cape with a hawk on on it. I am now thinking I might like him taller (Did it), but like I said I could not pass up the nice color combinations she created.

Keep up the good work there DM. You guys should check out her other costumes.

Finally got a gaming computer so I thought I would put up a pic to show how much better this costume is on a nor crap computer. Invisible objects are invisible no more. :-D

I finally got a new computer so I may go back through my posts and update the CC files with ones that reflect how they should look on a system appropriate machine. Or I might just get distracted with CO since it's a whole new experience for me now.

No, I am sure I won't abandon this thread. Not that my costume are all that great. Why I really post my terrible costumes here, is so that other will see them and say, "Well, mine are way better than that awful thing. I think I should post some of them up here so other players won't have to use those awful costumes Zed insist on posting up."

Seriously, I love to see just one new costume a week from any of our boards skilled Costume Makers. Please, make it so.

I just post five of the characters I use somewhat less often.

Some of the preview images are a bit messed up - for example some of Winternights cape is only in small parts visible. They should work, however.

Winternight was shy girl, born on a midwinternight to simple and honest parents in the lower city. She was a book worm and a dreamer had little self confidence and was used to being mobbed by her fellow students in her youth. She however had a thing for wondering the city and the outskirts aimlessly at night, where others dark, it might her feel safer and comfortable. There was something magical about the night that went even beyond the mystical thrill of the obscure.

So she wondered on a midwinter night, her 16th birthday, through the city when she was assaulted by a group of masked robbers. At that time she was in a strange, detached mood, partly as being in a dream, but then more present and real then ever. She didn't think, but let her body take over, took two of the knives of one of the robbers and fought them back. She didn't even expect to survive that night and it didn't even matter to her, all that she wanted was to fight, give way to the woman inside of her. Somehow she prevailed. And not only that, she unreveled a plot behind the villains, trying to steal not money, but actually kidnapping young women for the purpose of sacrificing them to ritualic magic. But once she had drown blood, she needed to get to the bottom of it, and finish these maniacs, who'd been haunting the city for weeks down.

The temptation to kill every last one of them was always there, but at no time she was seriously about to give in to it - though not every single one of the villains survived the encounter with her sharp blades. She had a very concrete of the heroine she wanted to be, and the thought of ever applying the term to herself made her cast a smile in the nights she was guarding. It wasn't revenge she was after, she just wanted to be that guardian of the night.

Gradually she transformed from a wallflower into a super hero. She is still not particularly popular with people and still relatively quiet, she never boasts with her powers, but she has a narrow circle of close friends at her college which aid her in super heroic endevours. They form a group of investigators in mystic knowledge of which Winter Night is the spearhead. And she became used to achieving whatever goal she set; which is guarding the night.

(it's a bit hard to see in either shot, but she does have demon tail)

Sometimes it's a chain of strange coincidences that lead to a life of evil. A set of choices, only few of which were selfish or reckless, as seen for themself, lead to a live of evil, may it be as priestess of a dark cult, as hired murderer, trapped in a scheme, blinded and hardly aware, but not completely unaware either.

Virtue doesn't know what her mortal live may have been. She does know that she is succubus now, and that she had spent millenia in her, gradually transforming from the lowest demon maggot through coincidence, failures and recreations and the lowest end, over an existance as lower hellish creature such as an hellhound into a succubus. A deceiver, a player, a charmer. She followed the crusades of evil of demon lords for centuries since after she gradually regained a conscious existance, doing the deeds of evil she was bound to.

Coming to know her enemies personally, actually enjoying her time with them and realizing to her honest surprise that not everyone will backstab you, just because they can, the started to wonder whether these simple concepts, evil, chaos, the strife to gain power and personal advantage, where truly all that she was. It is that question that still drives her now as a hero; and there is no saying whether she will change her mind about it one day again.

She likes to show people their mirror. She rescues the innocent, just to put them into the place of the villain and see whether their innocence is more than just a result of circumstances. She shows the guilty the soft spots in their heart. She is unpredictable, toys with expectations, never shows up when and how her enemies expect her to.

There are only two constants about her: Despite her existence as a succubus she never gives in to lust and in fact lives in complete celibate. Her offensive sexual appearance is her way of toying with expectations.
Secondly: She is simply nice. She doesn't think in catogeries as right or wrong, but only nice and mean. And she is always nice to people who are honestly nice to her (as opposed to people who act nice to take advantage of her). That's why she will always help out Defender, for example.

Age: Millenia, centuries since she regained consciousness, about 80 for which she can remember being a succubus. Apparant age: 19
    Nationality: none, coming from hell
Theme song: Iggy Pop - Lust for Life
Keywords: Flighty, impulsive, loyal (only towards natural persons), funny, light-hearted, curious
Driving element: Love for life in forms shapes colours

As a young, fresh and ambitioned police officer in Osaka, Makoto Tanaka helped with investigations for industrial espionage around Black Star Technologies and became personally familiar with the CEO, Sorren Wayland.

Her reputation for successful investigation and holding out calm and responsibly in firefight, always choosing the right amount of foEyes of Eden - Winter Night / rce to counteract her suspects, grew. But her acquaintanceship with Wayland was a thorn in internal affair's eyes; even though the public impression vastly exceeded reality. She had only met him a couple of times and never talked about anything than the cases she'd been working on.

Her enemies were, unknown to her, united in the Technology Exchange, a syndicate that had the claim of being the worlds biggest and dominant technology exchange market, striving to control and pass any industrial secret, from simple sorting algorithms to doomsday weapons. The syndicate framed her and constructed evidence for her venality. Trying to fight back and find evidence for her innocence she was lured into a trap. A bomb in a computer box went off right when she wanted to hack it. The scene was made up so that it looked she died in the attempt to destroy evidence.

Wayland seized the opportunity. Even though her body was completely torn apart, she could be preserved before she was compeltely brain dead. And put her into a secret reconstruction program. She was recreated as a cyborg, Immortal yet infertile. A combat machine. She went down to a dark valley and it didn't only take a lot of secret technology but also a massive amount of the world's best psychiatrists to keep her from committing suicide and embrace her existance, half machine, half woman.

For several years she ended up doing whatever Black Star Technology tasked her to, doing exactly what she had been accused of being doing before and took revenge on the technology exchange. Took revenge on all those living, beautiful people around here who still had a real life and not just an automaton existance.

The turning point became when she realized that how deep Black Star Industries itself was in the Technology exchange. It was a slow process suspicions at first. A shift in her excessively violent modus operandi to leaving survivors and actually listening to people. To be truly human she didn't need an entirely human body, but she needed to get rid of the failsave and control elements in her cyborg body. She spun her own network of contacts. Spared marks, friends from the past.... and eventually managed to free herself and use her power for good, fighting in the dark against those whoever thought absolute control and knowledge.

Born as the youngest daughter of an oligarch in St. Petersburg, Natalya Durov didn't have to struggle for a good position for an insurance company of her father. She took whatever gifts fate had bestowed upon her and fought hard to prove herself worthy. Smart, elegant, sharp tongued she investigated on the behalf of the company that was actually under her control and became widely known as a sharp and dangerous businesswoman, living up to her contracts, dating fashionable sports stars and handsome tychoons. On the other hand she worked 18 hours a day, and all the fragments of her private life were a well arranged impressions for the public.

It was in Texas when she was investigating an insurance case personally that seemed strange to her. Turned out that she was too nosy, beaten up, stuck into sack and taken out in the desert to die. When they arrived at the scene were her life was supposed to end, one by one she and her security detail were taken out of the caravan and the executions started. However, the sack in which she stuck had been damaged by the careless treatment of her kidnappers. She had know way of knowing whether she had even a remote chance when she saw the back of a guised man with an assault rifle in front of her, but she reached out for it, took the rifle and shot him even before she had slipped it over his shoulder.

Her kidnappers didn't even realize that something had gone wrong at first, because there were several executions around here and ther was a lot of gunfire. While she had never shot an assault rifle she was quite a good skeet shooter and the concepts of weapons, for she had dealt with a lot of weapons companies and needed to know what she was insuring when she held her hand upon weapon deals.

She just slipped out and kept shooting, dove from cover to cover and fired. Every little explosion felt like a relief. Massive, hardly in control, not holding back anything. As much as it scared her she took delight in the firefight, it was a strange freedom to fight for her life, to rush through dirt and dust, to conduct ultimate violence without any plan scheme and release everything at once.

After the firefight Rick Tailor, a shady Texan with a bad reputation her security detail and insisted on hiring and she hadn't spoken a word to was the only survivor. The two caravans were in flames, she was in her underwear and while they did manage to find a working cell phone they were to far out to have a net.

It was a several days walk back to civilization and they only survived because Rick, a native American, new this turf very well. He showed her to survive, they rested together during the days and spent the nights walking. As much hardship as it was, and as extreme as the situation that lead to it was, those were the best days of her life. She came to enjoy all the energy she had invested into keep her body strong and in shape. She came to enjoy being free of civilizatory constraints and the company of her first real boyfriend as she came closer with Rick.

When they finally arrived back in civilization, Natalya changed her life to become a shameless, wild party girl, much to the dismay of her father. And she would do all kinds of adventuring in the wildest, most dangerous parts of the world. That she actually became a super hero was only when she was investigating a Diamond operation on the Ivory Coast. She had only went there to enjoy the land, she couldn't have cared less about the Diamonds. But when she coincidently became witness of the execution of two mine workers, she stepped in, picked up a gun and fired. No doubts, no plans, just doing what she felt was right from the bottom of her heart.

From then on she decided to to good and help the people around the world wherever she knew that they were forced into modern slavery, become and angel on full auto and learned that gratitude of people could be a lot more valuable that all the wealth her father had accumulated, shaping her own network of contacts and favours throughout the world, which had started with Rick.

(this is a side-kick of my main, the Marksmaid)

It was threehundred years ago, when a young, open minded nun, a missionary, who struggled with her belief, but was deeply good at heart, slipped by a set of coincidences into a strange, beautiful and compelling world while travelling through the forests of Canada. Her hair was long and deep black, and her name was Jeannine Arras.

She found her way through the nameless forest on routes that she believed had been layed out for her by her god, but who had been listening to her prayers, as much as the romantic sense, the longing and the doubt in them, had been Diana of the forest, the divine huntress. And so she slipped on paths only the divine could open into a world of fey, satyrs, talking animals; a realm of beauty and song, with the cruelty of nature but still in a strange balance she had thought in her life. She remained. She willingly allowed that strange world to compell her and reconsidered her believes, if not her ethics.

And so Jeannine asked Diana to be made a forest nymph to be able to remain in a world of fairies and Diana granted her that wish. For almost three hundred years she remained, learned the ways of nature and sung songs about it. She also became a deceiver, like any nymph, luring mortals into that forest and stole them their life by compelling them to stay until their death. At first she didn't even realize that dark side of herself, for all that she did was out of the truest of emotions. The secret of nymphs is truly simple, they can make everyone love them because they themselves truly love. So it took her time, but given her nature of consideration and reflection she realized that she had to tame herself and hold back, even though she had no intention of changing altogether.

That brought her at odds with a her best friend and fellow nymph Xalara, when a young woman, very unlike herself, came into the forest. That woman, Maryanne Martinson had done a favour to the fairies of the forest and while she proved a good, kind heart whenever it truly mattered, she was otherwise intensely shallow and narcissistic and not particularly bright either. Maryanne had a natural affinity for the magic of the wild and it almost seemed like fey blood run in her veins. And yet she refused the same chance that Jeannine had been given. Maryanne was a city girl, living in Toronto and so she became an agent of Diana in the city, a wild witch and yet a perfectly normal city girl. With time and several violent events she became the Marksmaid.

Xalara didn't want to accept that. She wanted to keep Maryanne here, in the forest. Whether Xalara wanted her as sister or lover, she probably could not tell herself. The problem with nymphs is, they do truly love; sometimes obsessive, but still true. And they are never rejected. Xalara tried to lure Maryanne, the Marksmaid, tried to seduce her in vain. The she tried to play people around her, try make Maryanne realize that a life in the forest was her destiny and played her closest friends and allies. And she was close to succeeding, employing a scheme that would have involved the death of fellow satyrs in the process had it come to pass as Xalara had planned. But Jeannine stepped in and spoiled the scheme, completely confessing not only the recent events, but her entire life to Maryanne in the process. It was a difficult struggle for Jeannine to not succumb to the same longing as Xalara had when she opened herself completely and honestly to a mortal without the veil of poems and songs, but she prevailed. Compassion can be something insanely painful.

It came to an open conflict between Xalara and Jeannine when the prior learned of the other's betrayel. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."* Nymphs do never violently oppose each other directly, but they act through proxies and several immortal fairies lost their lives in Xalaras attempt for revenge. Diana noticed the dismay in her realm and put Xalara back into her place. The angry nymph tore the divine strings that bound her to the forest apart and fled the forest.

Jeannine asked to follow her, to bring her back, but was denied that request. Xalara had become a creature of darkness and anger, a dark nymph. Jeannine would not be able to oppose her. Instead she was permitted to join the Marksmaid, on her fight against unnatural forces in the world to learn to use her powers as a nymph in violent conflict. One day she might learn to oppose Xalara without falling for the same darkness that she had. To embrace her nature but still to learn to control herself and realize that all bliss comes pain. She became Raven, a silent philosopher using the powers of the winds, true understanding of every human and other desire, the ability to see into everyone's heart and the curse to not be able to live her own desires other than through her whispered songs (they need to be whispered, for the songs of a nymph have power) and Maryanne's friendly, yet not particularly mindful ear.

Theme song: Echoterra - A Tear of Her Heart
Nationality: French (living in Canada for more than 300 years)
Age: 336 years, 29 of which she spent as human. Apparant age: 24
Day Job: Museum Guide (cover job only, procured by friends who know of her true identity)

Driving element: Responsibility for her nemesis, love for her allies
Quote: "What is the most basic article of faith? That this is not all that we are." (shamelessly borrowed from Battlestar Galactica)

*based on a line by Zara in The Mourning Bride by William Congreve, 1697
literally: "Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd, Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd."
