Laerr
(requires Dragon Armor Chest from Hi Pan Alert, Takofanes cape, patterned armour set)
Laerr is all about how to use layers in costumes, hence the stupid pun name. This outfit has three layers: the base costume is made up of cloth tights in washed-out purple and silver. Laid on top of this is the metal armour, worn on the chest, arms and feet. Finally over the top is a deep crimson velvet cloak.
Each layer uses a separate colour scheme in order to differentiate them from each other. Having a good sense of how your costume is put together like this helps give it believability and realism.
(also, this costume meant I could finally make use of the Takofanes cape and Dragon Armour chest)
-
It can easily be a Bonus Costume should velis3 posts before Sunday/Monday-ish. Especially, since this is my third elemental clone.
I was playing with the colors on Ice Golem, looking for one that seemed interesting and new to me, when I found something that looked a lot like copper.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to "I'm Late To The Party" Friday.
Internet connection issues making me jump through technological hoops aside, I made it with half an hour to spare.
This lovely little lady is Scarlet Breeze, Speedster and Fashion Assassin. I mean, seriously, look at her...
Dominatrix-style latex skinsuit---check.
Extra long scarf that looks like a conga line of fabric---check.
And what's up with that helmet?
But, hey, she fights crime and stops bad guys. So what if she's impatient and does it in a hurry. She can't miss the latest episode of Superhero Apprentice, right?
An immortal heroine who constantly defies death. She often assumes the appearance of hapless civilians and will swap places with hostages to deny villains information. Of course, upon dying, her face disappears.
Almost forgot to post my entry for this week ;-;, seriously though casual samurai is the best name i can think up right now.. if Anyone wants to claim these costumes you can, and just rename them to whatever. ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
What happens when a local meteorologist become a super-hero with weather control powers?
He becomes - The Weatherman.

More of me trying to learn what the facial and body sliders do. I think to be a true weatherman this one should be attached to a FF, but any of the weather related Arches should suffice.

Oberon
(requires Military jacket unlock from Sky Command, Irradiates Jacket 1 unlock)
Trying to combine a few unlockable pieces to create a sci-fi rogue look inspired by Star Wars, Firefly and the new Guardians of the Galaxy film. Yeah, there's more than a little Star Lord in this guy, but hey, it works. And I've needed an excuse to use the Irradiates jacket for a while now.
Wednesday 19th March 2014
Urban Wizard
(requires Wizard and Witch pack, Halloween Webs pack for skull necklace)
I've been wanting to make this costume for a while, but it's been hard to get the aesthetic balance right. The main inspiration for this was the MMO The Secret World, which which mixes magic into a modern-day setting. I picture a character with this costume mixing shotguns with sorcery, but it can be whatever you want of course.
I'm really happy with how this one came out. Her style suggests she might have been a goth until recently, and while she's mostly 'de-gothed' herself now as she's got older, she's kept a few reminders of her early teenage years.
Hope you guys dont mind but I thought I would post a costume I have just lying around. Originally I created it for a young mutant girl that uses toxins.
Happy Friday, folks. Yep, I'm barely making my deadline this week, so I'm just gonna dust of the archive and see what I get.
Hmm... we have a winner.
Lost but not forgotten, that's Dead Pirate Roberta. Sword and pistol by her side, she is the scourge of the seas. Dead flesh, dark or muted colors... just an overall bland corpse.

Electrus
(requires Swamp King set, apparently!)
Turns out that Electro from the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie is actually an easy enough look to pull off... if you know the trick. Sadly it's only heads that can use the oiled-skin-glow method, so I've had to take the nonsensical route of having Electrus wear gloves. How does he use his powers now? Don't ask questions!
Wednesday 26th March 2014
Tornadus
(requires: Viking Warrior set, Cyberpunk chest Q-store purchase, Wired Cyborg set, Superconductor legs unlock, Legacy Power Armour set)
I was still on something of a Spider-Man kick after Electrus, so I had in my mind the various Green Goblin costumes the movies have given us, and decided to make something similar, a high-tech armour suit but without the bulk that most standard Power Armour costumes give us. Something lighter, slimmer and more practical, but still looking awesome.
And by chance, I managed to get a pretty cool look for the person inside the suit, with pinpricks of light shining out of dark hollows where the eyes should be. It's a slightly creepy but somehow believable look, one that practically looks alien without deviating much from actual human anatomy. A happy coincidence.
I'll make this short. Today I present Circuit Board, a classic tights & cape hero... for the digital age. Hopefully the costume exemplifies his namesake.
If you are villain who feels the need to wear Question Marks, then be warned.
The hero who has an apPOINTment to stop you is - EXCLAMATION!

-
What? Too much?
I tried to put as many exclamation like marks on this guy as I could find. I have the feeling that there are more that I did not find or better options for the ones I did find. { shrug } Not one of my better costumes, but when the madness bubbles up, I find it's better to give in for a healthy release of it.
Needs Legacy Power Armor for one part. Should still look good if a substitute is used because the main exclamation point is in the chest/belt area of the costume.

Adventurer Archaeologist
Requires: (Harajuku set, Iron Age set - see below)
Ahem. Guess what games I've been playing recently.
The jacket is from the Harajuku set, and the belt is from the Iron Age set. Both are easily replaced if you don't have them. Oh, and your April Fool is that there is no April Fool.
Wednesday 2nd April 2014
Jump
(Requires: Jetpack set, Legacy Power Armour Set, Iron Age set)
This time I was trying to design a costume that wouldn't seem entirely out of place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Perhaps mauve and purple is a bit much, but the combination seemed to work.
One of the problems with the above Adventurer Archaeologist is that by wearing a jacket there's no space to add straps for the backpack. Jump has no such problems, and I was able to use one of my favourite bits of chest wear - suspenders fancy, which helps connect backpacks and jetpacks and similar to the costume as a whole, especially when combined with a matching metal belt, as it does here. (again, if you don't have the Iron Age pack the belt can be replaced by anything metal)
Also, yes, I'm making a layered costume again. And none of you can stop me.
My favorite CO homage is - The Shark Knight. With that in mind, I give you...

I think the colors are correct on everything except the belt. Kept getting it backwards or mixed up there. The head is a Reef Shark because there are no regular fish heads.
Definitely needs costume parts from FoxbatCon. The Specialist Arch, or a FF something like it, is practically a must to make use of both the Ping-Pong Guns and the FB Trout.
So are you guys using any Foxbat costume parts on any thing you're currently working on?
-
Edited to add a cap.

It's from a Con. He got some colors and parts wrong. Give the guy a break.
Since this thread has several pilots or pilot-like costumes already, it would be neat to try and match up pilot costumes with ship's color and design. And there's no rule that we cannot create costumes with duel purposes.
Not talking about this, btw. No matter how cool it looks, I expect it would be quite painful.
My favorite CO homage is - The Shark Knight. With that in mind, I give you...

Wow, nice job with Doctor Molotov! I like that the yakuza tattoo skin pattern looks like burn marks on the skin. The green color is pleasing too - surprised it's in the yellow column. What's the head part above the goggles and the belt?

Thanks! His headpiece is the Armadillo helmet.
As you might've noticed, most of the designs I'm posting to this aren't very friendly to people with few parts. :V

Hmm - maybe I should try the Reef Shark head on Fishbat, see if that makes him look any better. Wonder if I can combine it with the Classic Foxbat Mask, maybe get those ears poking out the sides...

Feel free to improve on it, jon.
I'm still tinkering, but instead of making it better, I think it's getting worse. Maybe I should just quit while I'm ahead.
Also, if you ever want to create a new costume to share, and post it here, even just once, it will be welcome.

Free Knight
Requires: NOTHING!
Been meaning to do this since forever - a costume that requires no Z-store purchases or unlocks whatsoever. The Free Knight uses standard vanilla costume pieces to create a medieval look. In fact, with the tabard over the chainmail he is actually MORE realistic than if I were to slap on all the "shining knight" pieces (which are almost post-medieval and tournament-esque rather than practical armour).
Anyway, there you go Bluhman. I throw down my miserly, penny-pinching gauntlet at you, sir!
A design that's strongly inspired by the X-COM MEC troopers. Those giant Anime style pistols, on top of arm cannons, really does a lot I think. Costume File
15th April 2014:
Stymphalian Soldier (The Soldier)
Was a little surprised this worked out so well. Easily lends itself to a number of archetype and freeform concepts but I wanted to try something really unique for The Soldier.
"Interesting builds are born from limitations not by letting players put everything into one build."
Filling in for Monday with a simple way to do alien-looking leather armour with a bit of wear and tear on it. Turns out the Armadillo armour works nicely with the Lemurian Loincloth, so long as you hide the seam with a nice chunky belt. Fittingly, the character is called Warrior. The brown/grey colour scheme may not be the most exciting, but it works for a no-nonsense bruiser like this lady.
Wednesday 16th April 2014 Green Cross Code Man (Classic)
(requires NOTHING!)
Okay, I figure this is going to require a bit of explanation for non-Brits. Back in the early 80s the government's needed a way to get children to follow the Green Cross Code, a guide for crossing the street safely. They cooked up a character called the Green Cross Code Man, a superhero that would show up to help children cross the road and was portrayed by David Prowse, the same man that had been inside the Darth Vader suit in Star Wars.
Despite being as ridiculous as it sounds, it was a decently popular scheme, mostly because David Prowse was a really decent bloke, and I even remember the adverts from my own early school days, even though they were in the tail end of the 80s when the scheme was being wound down.
I figured it was high time the Green Cross Code Man appeared in Champions Online, so along with my (not as accurate as I'd have liked) attempt at his classic Silver/Bronze age look, I present:
Green Cross Code Man (Modern)
(requires Tech Tights, Elemental Asymmetry tights)
I'm curious, how many days have been missed? While all my archetype characters use freebie pieces, I wouldn't might experimenting a bit with full sets for other things.
"Interesting builds are born from limitations not by letting players put everything into one build."
Yup. I goof big time. I spent much of the previous week with a bout of insomnia. Now you'd think that would mean I could focus on making a few extra costumes, but I could not maintain enough focus for that. Anyway...
WNW is from the bank. I imagine her as an everyday hero. A citizen who has had enough of the gangs shaking her down every time she steps out her front door. Or even her backdoor. She's most likely a Fist or a Master but could be a Blade (Why no dagger option CO? ) or maybe even a Soldier.
Personally, I wish she could wield that tonfa on her hip as if it were her weapon of choice. Would be nice if she had the power to knock even the biggest thugs on their backs on a good die roll. She could be part of a new mini-Arch-set called - Street Fighter or Street Defender.
Well, that takes care of Monday. I've really got to get the remaining recent post organized. I'm off on Monday. Maybe then. { crosses fingers for luck }
This week I was planning to do something for Easter but I haven't had much free time, sooo...

And if you don't know what promiscuous means, then she's not sharing.
