The Tholians have always been portrayed as extremely xenophobic isolationists. They most likely chose to not participate in the alliance, as opposed to being excluded.
If it's the Collective, I would assume that the Queen has recognized that the Iconians represent such a massive threat to the entire galaxy that it's in her best interests to have the Collective temporarily join forces with the Federation/KDF/Romulans. Of course it's to be expected that she would immediately turn on them…
I think that's exactly what they're doing. I find it extremely hard to believe that Cryptic is going to wrap up the Iconian War, something that we've been building up to for years in this game, with 2 episodes and a handful of STFs. This is just the beginning.
Speak for yourself. I actually think the sector space update is pretty awesome. It looks great and the feeling that space is vast and we're not actually all in a 10x10 room is a huge improvement. I personally don't care for ground missions. I rarely if ever participate in any ground STF, and only grudgingly do the ground…
Where would you put the Hoh'SuS? The Bortasqu' was specifically designed to carry it, not the Negh'tev. Honestly I'd prefer to just see the Bortasqu' get a T6 revamp. The Negh'tev is a completely different ship and stands on its own just fine.
I felt the same way when they introduced Harry Kim into the game. I mean, we all know that Harry Kim is the galaxy's whipping boy, but even so, how is it we can manage to get promoted to Admiral in only a few weeks while he's been in Starfleet for 4 decades and remains a lowly Captain?
The answer is always Gorn. I can play a giant space lizard man? And I can unlock plate armor and a fur cloak for him to wear? The choice seems obvious to me.
At least it's not another battlecruiser. I can understand the disappointment if it's not a BoP, but the Raptor class as a whole has needed more dev love for a long, long time, so it's not neccessarily a bad thing if we're getting another one.
Oh I agree, which is why the true maximum rank in STO is Captain, not Fleet Admiral. Playing an actual Fleet Admiral would be Paperwork Online, not Star Trek Online. That's why Kirk warned Picard to never take a promotion.
You're not even mentioning the worst of it. Please turn on the slide projector for Tuvok, Admiral. Go and collect spices for Neelix, Admiral. Head down to engineering and fix my warp engine for me, Admiral. Heck, there is no way a Fleet Admiral would ever be joining away teams beaming down into hostile situations, that's…
Just ignore your rank. We all effectively operate as captains anyway, in command of a single starship. If my character was really a Fleet Admiral he'd be flying a desk and in command of a starbase or a task force or something similar.
I'd be fine with that. I'm fully maxed out on the pilot spec tree, and all the little "thruster bursts" and other things my ship does now are actually sort of annoying. I'd prefer the option to simply get the perks and turn off the graphics.
To be honest I actually prefer seeing some of Cryptic's original characters show up in episodes over canon "famous" characters, and you have to know their VO actors are a heck of a lot cheaper. T'nae, Hakeev, Obisek, etc.
I initially felt that way about the Guardian and the Galaxy. My assumption when it was first released was that the Guardian was intended to be the T6 version of the Galaxy, since the Guardian takes some very obvious design cues from the Galaxy class (and also the Ambassador of course). Turns out I was wrong and we got a…
Yes...ST4 showed some glaring weaknesses in ESD. Lose power and you can't open the doors, so the ships inside are trapped. I'm also assuming that ship moorings are some sort of tractor beam, so lose power to the moorings and now all the ships are freely floating inside of ESD and likely to crash into each other or the…
