Proposal for an Excelsior Three Piece set

Way back when, the T3 Excelsior came with a Transwarp Drive Console which gave +7.6 to weapon, shield, engine and auxiliary efficiency. That has now been replaced with the Transwarp Computer console which gives +20 Warp Core efficiency and 50% cool down on transwarp.

I propose that the two consoles be made into an Excelsior three piece set. The older original console should be added to the T5 Excelsior. In addition, there is likely to be a T6 Excelsior and that ship should have either a console or a warp core that can only be equipped to the Excelsior (maybe BOTH a set item warp core AND Excelsior only console).

The T6 Excelsior console should give a boost to flight speed and turn rate in sector space, while a possible Excelsior only Warp Core would have stats similar to the Tal Shiar Adapted Warp Core.

I would propose that the set bonuses be similar to the Galaxy Enhanced Engineering Set, with a Four piece set equipped giving the bonuses of both the original Galaxy two piece set as well as the new bonus for equipping the newer bonuses for the Galaxy three piece.

Why exactly do you believe that a T6 Excelsior is 'likely?'

I think that the Command Cruisers are the T6 Excelsior. Their appearance clearly indicates that they are descendants of the Excelsior, at least.

Because the Intrepid class and the Galaxy class, as well as the Negh'var and D'Deridex for klingons and romulans, were both rereleased as T6.

Which means it isn't impossible that the Excelsior will also be rereleased as well. Personally I hope they don't, because while I like the Excelsior I don't love it, and want to see other T5 ships rereleased first. But I'd also love it if us suckers who bought those T5 ships got a discount and THAT'S never going to happen :v

Well, unlike the Galaxy or the neghvar, the Excelsior as a t5u still holds up well today.

The Excelsior just seems to old to be a T6 ship. The Galaxy, the Negh'Var, the D'Deridex are all much newer then the Excelsior.

The Excelsior was almost 100 years old when the 'Iconic' Ships were first seen, it hardly seems safe to assume that because there is a T6 Galaxy that there will be a T6 Excelsior.

    ^ Blasphemy.

    Just to be clear, I don't oppose a T6 Excelsior, I just don't think we'll see it.

The Excelsior and the Sovereign are my favorite Cannon Fed ships of all time. I hope you get one, I just don't think it will happen.

The Enterprise B and E are by far the best Enterprises ever. :D

Just to be clear, I feel confident the Command ships are, essentially, the T6 Excelsior and would be (pleasantly) surprised if the ship got the upgrade before the Sovereign. It's the skin I would want to use, and the solo reason I play with the Excelsior today. :)

A T6 Excel, if there is one, won't come until after the T6 Defiant at the least. And probably not until after the T6 Sovereign and maybe another iconic T6 sci and escort.

That said, I just picked up T5U Fleet Excel. Why wait when there's a good version right here?

I'm sure the next Iconic update will be the pilot ships which will be released with Season 10. And those will most likely be a T6 Defiant (Fed), T6 B'Rel (KDF) and either a T6 Mogai or T'Varo (ROM).

I have no idea about sets but I assume there will be some.

I initially felt that way about the Guardian and the Galaxy. My assumption when it was first released was that the Guardian was intended to be the T6 version of the Galaxy, since the Guardian takes some very obvious design cues from the Galaxy class (and also the Ambassador of course). Turns out I was wrong and we got a separate T6 Galaxy anyway. The Excelsior is another "iconic" ship, so it's entirely possible we could see a T6 version.

Funny how everyone is talking about whether or not there should be a T6 Excelsior. Are there no thoughts on the proposal for a three or four piece set? Not even to gripe about my suggestion to copy over the Borg Warp core onto the Excelsior?
