The thing that prevents me from purchasing the Avenger (as well as the Excelsior T5 ship) is the complete lack of customization outside of hull color.

I agree with that point that it might hurt over ship sales, but that's why I put an X in the cost field. Wow, thanks for the feed back! I was thinking that the software wasn't available to switch out boff slots, otherwise that seems like something they would have done already. After learning you can't in the first moments of the Rom starting zone, I logged out and promptly deleted my character. I had 0 desire to be a space fairing Bajoran with no ties to the Tal Shiar or Empress Sela.

That's mainly what I hear from the "anti-JJ Trek" crowd. It's not "set in the main universe," so fans get their panties in a wad over it.

Update: So, I changed up my away team (2 sci with healing and debuff abilites and 2 tac with target suppression fire and over watch). I also placed my away team just out of los and bottle necked the huge TRIBBLE groups and used our plasma grenades and it vaporizes 50-60% of the enemy teams in 1 shot! Thank you all so much…

So, what are good choices for weapon types like disruptor, plasma, etc for battlecruisers and carriers? I know they need to be beam boats primarily, and I could get away dhc's, but again I am unsure as to what type to use...

I'd be okay with Thetaron weapons so long as cloaking devices are added for the Federation. Afterall, the only reason Fed never developed cloaking tech was due to the Rom/Fed treaty.

Seems to me that cryptic/pw have the attitude that "it's a half descent Star Trek game" so they can milk it due to Trek's fan base. That's the attitude I'm getting towards this game with regards to DLC and bugs.

I've been a Trekkie since I was a kid, and the first time I went to DS9 in game and walked around, seeing Sisko's baseball on the desk brought a little tear to my eye. It's little details like that I love. A museum like OP is suggesting would be a wonderful idea. :)
