I tried that trick as well, after reading it here, but it didn't work. I tried re-logging, and I tried exiting the game completely. Neither trick worked. After two character attempts, I deleted them both, and didn't look back.

Both times, it was a Vulcan male, Tactical. Both times, I got exactly the same results. I equip the rifle, but the mission does not register that I equipped it until after I leave the armoury. I just ran it as well. In fact, I ran it twice. First time, I had exactly this same bug. So, I deleted that character, and made a new one. That new one had exactly the same bug. That all depends on if you can make your bug report look like this impacts PvP in some way. Then it will get fixed next patch.

He is frequently on his weird little chat hacking thingy that lets him chat when he is not in game.

In other cases, it is the other way around. All of my characters are male, because I am male. And I have no problem wearing the Voth tail cape with any trousers (I am currently wearing it with the Jem'Hadar trousers.). Even with Safe Mode, the launcher still crashes.

Seeing as how the STO launcher keeps crashing, I don't have the ability TO log in, much less claim anything.

This is the second day in a row that the launcher has been crashing ever time I try to log in. It does not patch. It does not do anything. It just keeps crashing. So I have not been ABLE to log in at all in the first place. Just my luck. The moment a giveaway starts, that is when the launcher gets broken.

Day 2: It still does the same thing. The launcher still crashes.

It is not that bad, to be honest.

The main problem was the fact that 90% of PvPers were pay-to-win elitists. Recently, that pay-to-win elitist attitude is also why I had to leave the DPS channels.

I suspect the early maintenance is because of this issue. Or at least, I should dearly hope it is. Claiming free stuff is simply not possible if you cannot get into STO in the first place.
