I think DPS chasing is fine to a point. But having to grind or buy newer and newer gear to stay on top is boring and honestly a waste of money. Beware: Lock boxes are a scam. Everyone knows it and i'm pretty sure cryptic and PWE know it and thats why you'll find that devs or community managers or whoever rarely ever (if ever) touch thread like these. As a f2p player Ive managed to enjoy " playing and repeating " portions of the game and mindlessly finishing parts I did not enjoy just for the solid rewards (this part is the GOOD grind). All games are like that at the moment and thats fine. For me personally the grind becomes BAD with the gamble/crafting like nature…

OP That would be a nice idea therefore I doubt cryptic will implement it. I suppose the hard work in designing new traits and skins justifies the price. Or that some if not all the value of the ship could be mitigated by dil refining.

All things being equal and those are a s@$t ton of equal factors ranging from captain career to traits to "skill respec tweaking" crit d 2 crit h weapons can get you into the 42 to 60k dps range. Tempting but after a year of f2p ... few lvl60 toons and spending rl money partly mitigated by dil farming 200 bucks is too much for me. Sto graphics wise is already old gen lots of new options scifi wise coming up. Perhaps an in house kickstarter campaign to upgrade the game engine along with lts may have more traction…

Unrefined dil to upgrade bound to charater items nothing more. That would be good.

I dont trust ARC at all. Prefer all money transfers through steam. Considering the few issues steam customer support has had steam is way more accesible than ARC.

Refined dil----> buy a new ship or atleast mitigate its exorbitant costs. I suppose that's why ship prices are so high ... Considering the above why not leave upgrading all gear using unrefined dil (the r n g system in place in anycase mitigates this aspect from becoming an exploit in anycase )and leaving everything else using refined dil. Unless of course the largest dill sink is upgrading gear.

To subvert from actually spending real money on sto is a battle between patience and repetitiveness. the more patience and more repeats u can do daily the less real money u may have to spend. The sweet spot imo is 5 characters. Build rep on all five toons. This will take a while. You will enjoy the game on atleast two…
