  • Put the flashlight on a bridge officer, grab a second from the crate. The game will only remove the copy from your own inventory, not from that of your bridge officers.
  • That only works for a single play session. Next time you log in, it's auto-expanded again.
  • Considering I was there on the forums reading it as it went down... yes, I believe what I wrote there. But you go ahead and continue to think I'm blowing smoke, as long as it makes you happy and secure in your personal glass castle. ;)

  • Stating that someone has a different point of view is redundant - it's obvious by reading their post. Since you didn't add anything beyond that statement, you didn't actually contribute anything meaningful or useful in that particular post. In other words, I am factually correct. You're just trying (and failing) to…
  • Your description is so incredibly vague (as is your laughable attempt at WRITING a SOUND that I cannot answer your question. Take that as a victory if you like, but the question is a poor one at best. I already answered this. It's a subnuke, you use Science team...
  • My mistake, it was actually patrickngo. You merely quoted his post and didn't add anything meaningful. (You also didn't object, so I assume you agreed with his assessment.)
  • Science team, tactical team. FaW or Torpedo Spread if you want to shoot the boarding party down before they reach you. Grab bag of science abilities. Subnuke and VM to strip buffs and increase cooldowns, sensor scan to increase vulnerability, tachyon beam to strip shields... Is that really the best you can come up with?
  • No, I merely offered my personal experience, which has been incredibly consistent. That would be correct. *YOU* said crowd-controls aren't effective in PvP, so which is it? Can you do something to fight besides DPS or not? (Tanking isn't fighting, since you're doing nothing to hurt the enemy.) Tank builds have to sacrifice…
  • Caught your edit. I have PvP'd. I find it boring and predictable, just like PvE. I perfer PvE because I don't have to deal with all the drama from other players. ;)
  • Get two, maybe three ships to focus fire on any ship that isn't currently running RSP, and it won't matter whether there's a "healer" around or not - that target is going to die. Any PvP team that doesn't focus fire is quickly going to get picked off by the team that DOES focus fire...
  • Well then you aren't terribly useful to your team. The moment the enemy figures out that you aren't a threat (because you're just a tank with no real teeth), then you get the worst possible treatment in a PvP encounter - you get ignored. You can't fight back, since you admit that you don't do much DPS, so your only purpose…
  • I'm thankful because I no longer need to invest in copious amounts of cheese to go with the river of w(h)ine...
  • Take a 30k or 40k DPS FaW build into a PvP encounter, and you'll get a lot of kills. PvP is just a DPS race with different minimum requirements, for the very reasons you listed. Players don't follow the script, so you can't reliably crowd-control them, and when DPS racing is involved, you can't expect to reliably tank or…
  • I can make 300 alts through various F2P accounts and never log any of them in again after I get them into a fleet. Membership numbers are a silly metric to base requirements on for a F2P game.
  • I've been around since this game was in beta. I've posted a generalization (and slight dramatization) of the sum total of all my experience with the general PvP populace. Yes, there are exceptions, but what I posted is the majority attitude. (Or rather, it used to be - most PvPers have thankfully given up on their crusades…
  • PvE is evolving. DR brought a huge shakeup to end-game queues. A 2k DPS ship, which used to be capable of scraping through to the end, is suddenly woefully insufficient. The new bar standard is somewhere between 6k and 8k DPS - anything lower and you are incapable of completing an Advanced queue without literally being…
  • OP, what was the point of making this thread? You're so completely convinced of the superiority of your opinion that you do not even consider any argument. I didn't even need to read past page 1 to see this - it appears as though you are already forming poorly-thought-out "rebuttals" before you even finish reading…
  • This game is not terribly friendly to stick-flying, primarily due to the limited Z-axis. I've found keyboard/mouse controls to be way more than sufficient, and they have the added bonus of allowing me to look around (effectively, before any hat-switch users chime in) independent of my flight controls.

  • No, it's pointing out *EXACTLY* what you sound like, and so far you have done little to prove otherwise. We had a whole rash of these "scams" (in quotes because it's up to individual interpretation as to whether or not it's actually a scam) back during the first 6 months or so that fleet holdings had been introduced. They…
  • Direct insults are against the ToS. ;) Solo fleets are a dumb idea. That said, this person isn't trying to get people to join their fleet (which we don't even have confirmation that it *is* a solo fleet...). Instead, they are trying to get other players to act as "mules" to join on a temporary basis and just dump resources…
  • "Someone please join my fleet and give me a bunch of resources to help me advance my fleet holdings because I'm too lazy/inept/incapable of getting players and resources on my own!"
  • Typically, if you see a random "flier" anomaly like that, it's because there's another part of the mission that will take place in that section of the map. Most typically, it's when you change maps (beam down or warp to another planet, for example) and then end up coming back. Anomalies are almost exclusively placed in and…

  • You provided an opinion where I provided hard facts and numbers to back them up. Hardly a good platform from which to try and make a declaration. ;) Also: many people have the opinion that slot machines shouldn't be gambling, since they can be "entertaining". This is still opinion, since you can objectively show that the…
  • Yes you are. Pretty much correct. The devs are tired of the PvP players' self-entitlement, which ran by and far much stronger and deeper than any other segment of the playerbase. PvP players, in MMOs in general, account for less than 10% of the population anyway, and Cryptic has said in the past that their PvP metrics were…
  • ... except it is gambling to many, because the value proposition of the "typical" earnings do not match the investment required. Great example: if you wanted to buy a ship out of the Lobi store (at a cost of 800 Lobi), you would have to invest ~$250 (at an average of 4 Lobi per box, with keys costing ~$1.25 each) in order…
  • A while back, there was a massive uproar from the PvP players here in the forums. Don't even remember what it was about, but it got VERY nasty. All the PWE moderation staff were on in force handing out bans like mad. At the peak of the nastiness, D'Angelo popped in and indicated that all currently-planned PvP development…
  • Answer in red, by several orders of magnitude. I, for one, don't use Steam (for STO - I use it for plenty of other games). I've also encouraged and helped everyone in my gaming community to also not use Steam (again, for STO). Instead, we all use the original launcher. It works quite well and is tiny; oh, and it also…
