I confirm this issue is still present and is totally annoying. This "feature" can by used as an exploit to bypass console privacy settings in fact.

Phasers still doesn't have a sound just like my tricoders on 23c characters. No patch since the last update.

The same as on Xbox One. Check other phaser ground weapons, probably most of the beam phasers does not have sound. Xbox bug reported here: https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1269982/no-audio-effects-for-phaser-weapons

I have found an 27 days old (today is 15th march) topic on reddit listing how many sounds in the game were affected after the update. I'm shocked that after so long time we got the same bugged version on consoles: https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/1146443/weapons_missing_sfx/

It's not the first time on XBOX when phasers loose sound effects. I confrim then: no phaser sounds on XBOX.

So maybe it's a good time to consider this 'feature' as a bug. I would like to see a change in the conception of character selection screen. For example no graphics loading until you press a key "Show that character" ;) I imagine this workaround for engine and servers as effective.

I confirm that character select menu is one of the worst things to experience in STO on Xbox. Scrolling down from 1st character to 2nd can take few seconds. Imagine how it is to change to your 5th, 10th, 15th character. Zen store is unresponsive in similar way. I preffer to check zen starships on starbase officer instead,…

And I was ready to think that my controller is malufunctioning... ;) I would also add that sometimes direction pad works also as doubleclick (only in this game).

Thanks for answering. It bothers me because people look for an opportunity to say 'hello' when I want to be anonymous. Sometimes I just want to remain silent in the game but many people tend to be more sociable all the time. I guess my wish would be a game better co-operating with console's profile status in true way.

Changing language to English in the console UI actually temporarily restores English in the game. Unfortunately, restoring the national language in the console causes the game to restart in German once again.

Only text is german. Audio is still english.

I confirm that bugged characters are still bugged. Luckily, my lack of trust in the upcoming patch made me to do not unpack any character bind items on my newly created character. So... I'll just delete it because I don't imagine shooting by pressing 'B' button ;)

I confirm. There is no way to convert bridge officers into manuals.

After many days of proving, Support gave me back only 2 phasers (so I have 3 now) and refused giving back the last one because - as they say - the ship has only 3 phasers. This is one of the most irritating things in the game. Even game bugs seems to be more acceptable :neutral:
