FIRST: I also was not able to copy my character to Tribble today. As a result I wasn't able to test BOFF training on the Specializations.

Feedback: Torpedo High Yield definitely won't train even if you have the manual for it. Very strange as everything else worked.

    But not smoothly.

I find it a bit cumbersome to have to train someone from their skill screen. It's feels weird that I can't double click on the manual and then have a screen similar to the old BOFF trainer screen where you get the dropdown of your BOFFS and can select which one you want to get the skill. It just seems a bit cumbersome. That might need another look. A drag and drop feature on the BOFF's skill screen would be nice too.

Just looking at the episode screen, the Romulan Mystery seems a LOT leaner. I'm hoping that those missions will be remastered and placed back in...at least some of them. Also, that's a lot of EXP per mission lost that I hope will be compensated by the new missions, because with the Specialization, we need more EXP not less.

No thats not legit, its 500 dil per pad. He might be figuring in the finish now cost, not sure.
Whew, yeah. 500 is much much more reasonable.

But seriously what the heck is up with the four hour thing?

Legitimately and logically making a PADD should be a five second replicator job. 500 dilithium is manageable as by the time you're gonna have a ship and want to train the Top level BOFF abilities, you should have the dilithium, only us old heads with lots of dilithium are gonna train our BOFFS completely in a few days. but FOUR hours for a freakin PADD???? DO you know how many PADDS are on the average starship? That's a little ridiculous.

And are we gonna have different PADD graphics for the different factions?

These patch notes are nothing short of a joy to behold. In my estimation it gives the game a wonderful sense of progression, and promises that new Specialisation System introduced in Delta Rising can expand in such a way as help players achieve a real sense of distinction between their Alts. The focus on Bridge Officers as having their own individual Specialisations is also welcome, and gives us a reason to assign certain abilities to certain Boffs.

This may sound a little 'crude', and I apologize in advance if it is, but. . . I think I know what's on the horizon here and i'm not going to spoil it for everyone if i'm right. There's a certain logic to your approach that makes me... so excited; to think how long the communities talked about this. I know I sound rediculous, I'm just thrilled.

Thank you, and do remember, in the run up to any release, it's vital you all don't stay up too late.

    :D
    I admire your optimism.

How many unique rewards will removed with the 11 missions removal?

That is a very good question.

    EDIT: The answer

Cover of Night: Kit Reward and plasma rifles
Minefield (Good riddance to that Vulcan): Personal Shields
Divide et Impera (That piece of TRIBBLE make you a patsy violating common sense mission): Kit reward and dual pistols
Saturday's Child (Gonna miss that one, and the alien princess): various armors
Preemptive Strike (another good one):This one has rewards, the Overcharged Plasma Rifle and the Personal Covariant Shield.
Hunting the Hunters (a gratifying victory): Hyper and Combat Impulse engines...were they first ones you get?
Project Nightingale (Noooo, please reconsider, that mission was solid, the planetary shields were cool): Plasma weapons
Ground Zero: Had various consoles, EPS flow regulator, RCS, Probes, and plasma tac consoles
Ghost Ship (Another solid one): Profession specific kit
Friend of My Enemy (could be tedious, but had a great spirit to it especially after Divide): Various deflector arrays
Trapped (the fake wormhole would be better with modern VFX): A Q Torp and some Tetryon weapons.

It's weird that By Any Means was merged, as part of the mission was prefaced by the Nobel's mission in Project Nightingale.

In any event aside from the Personal Covariant Shields which is a decent shield at that level and the Overcharged Plasma Sniper Rifle which is a solid weapon when you get it, nothing special is lost.

It may be covered in the blog post about the revamp of romulan mystery, but are Accolades from the removed missions going to be added somewhere or are they now lost to future characters and players?

FFS you pollute and contaminate this thread too with this dreck? Get control of yourself ashkrik, Jesus christ!

The 4 hours/ 3600 dil per padd thing, is this going to go live?
    4h+500dil per PADD.
As for the finish now button, it's either the dil price, or the wait time. Not both.

Stop spreading misinformation all over the forum, you look like the crazy guy in the street screaming for the end of the world every year. Well, at least this guy might be right one day.

Not sure if this is where I need to post this, but I am unable to place my BOFFs on active space duty. I just loaded the patch today and went to reset my tray and noticed there were only the career abilities in it. I went to stations to reassign my boffs and it was completely blank for ship and shuttle ; however, below the blank space was the ability to assign my away team boffs.

I know I saw someone else make a similar remark and wanted to let them know it was not an isolated incident.

No. It would be nice, since accolades like the one you could get from the Federation mission "War is Good for Business" are still MIA.

Wow, so the new Romulan Mystery story arc is gunna be even smaller than the new Klingun War story arc (and there has already been a takeout of a full episode). I hope there are gunna be one or two more new missions at least to make up for all the eleven (11!) removed missions ... including all the accolades.

That's the other thing ... "War is Good for Business" had four innate accolades, only one of them can be reclaimed (by scanning the starbase beacon in system space when doing the patrol or playing the minisode "Heading Out"). If those episodes really won't make the cut, we'll lose about 400 accolade points since there's quite a bunch of 25-pointers in those "lost missions", two in "Hunting the Hunters", another two in "Saturday's Child", etc.

All the rest however looks good, and I am looking forward to the new Romulan episode. I wonder what is all gunna change in the True Way story arc once that's getting revamped. That's now the last "old-school" episode arc to be remastered and then STO will have all shiny new episodes with cutscenes, voice-over at some points even, etc. :)

I hope the new "Command Officer" specialization won't have yet another starship trait, butt instead a ground captain trait to offer. We have already so many starship traits (alone three in the current specialization trees and so many in the new T6 ships) and can only slot four at a time, so please no more starship traits unless we can slot more (maybe six) at a time. :)

Not sure about 'great' missions, but certainly not bad enough to be removed entirely, in my opinion.

Why can't they dump the 'old' missions into the Foundry? That way at least new players who never got to play them and/or folks who really liked those missions can replay them sometime?

And yeah, a few of them have 'issues' that probably would keep them from being candidates for the Foundry ("Trapped", I'm looking at you!)

If they will move them to the Foundry then we will lose rewards from that missions (including several unique rewards).

The two main things that stand out to me off the bat are fairly straight forward.

    1. XP is already a huge issue so removing content seems like it isn't the right decision. Earning XP does need to be increased across the board. Less is not more! Please stop removing content from the game. Especially content like Deja Q, which was one of my favorite missions. A 25% bump would really go a long way in bridging the gap in XP and grind.

    2. The new icons for BO powers don't seem to be an improvement over what they previously were. In some cases, they are even less of a representation of the power they are representing.

The game settings I am using is max everything other than AA, which seems to be broken right now. I am using DX11 with an AMD video card.

:P Wrong thread. This was what I was referencing though.
This was a screenshot from the start of Disconnected. The bloom is from the map. If you look, you can see white rectangles on various spots of the hull. It doesn't matter what map I am in. This happens when I separate the saucer on the Galaxy X when using the Tholian shield. This is still an issue as of today. :(

Does this illustrate the issue better?

    I said hope, not expect.

Go more recent also. I missed all of those and don't miss them at all.

In the meantime I'm gonna lump these missions in with the "Exploration Revamp" and keep it moving.

On tin currently, each ipad costs 500 dil, then there is a 4 hour wait (20 hours if you make a stack of 5) that you have to pay 3600 dil,per ipad to skip. That's 18k dil to skip the 20 hour wait on a 5 stack.
Yeah, I've never pressed the complete now button on purpose, so I don't even consider that silly 5 dilithium per second cost. I have better uses for my dilithium than slaking impatience.

    And it's PADD.

That's a great idea actually. This forum really does need a rep/like button.

To be honest I've skipped the Romulan Mystery arc on 90% on my Fed characters and never been short on XP, revamping the missions so they are interesting to play yeah all for that.

About the special Boff only trainable skills..... I have not found a way to train them on Tribble atm. Specifically...... Torpedo Spread 3, Beam Overload 3

    Torpedo Spread 3 for example

Not available in new R & D Boff Crafting

Not available from Boff trainer 1

Not available from Boff trainer 2

Is Available from Veteran Tactical Android boff for training?

    Opps I guess not :(

So is there a plan for these skills or.......?

Choosing to skip the time is a personal choice, If you simply que it before logging off then you incur no additional cost. But there is a cost for the give'me now mentality apparently.:P

It also has a Commander Science Boff slot, bonus to shield and auxillary, and 4 science console slots. Also, it has subsystem targeting, which are seen on science ships and Klingon support vessels.

All science ships have 2 things in common Subsystem Targeting and Sensor Analysis, unless a ship has the 2 they don't qualifly as science ships.

On the icon changes its funny to look back at the old icons and realize I had no idea what the icon was trying to convey compared to the new ones. Like the target subsystem, they never made that much sense to me but the new ones are spot on.

On the flip side there are some you can see were changed that didn't really need to be, like Tachyon beam and a lot of science icons are more "busy" now than they were. Oh well.

But you should definitely keep the old boarding party icon because the new one is misleading. it gives the impression that boarding party's shoot out directly to the target when the old icon represents what they do more accurately. that is, deploy, go in some direction tangent or away from the target then, as slowly has humanly possible, fly towards the target or simply stop and just float in space until they disappear.

My first Tribble ticket #48,166. The Reputation Expertise slider is borked. The slider only adds on 100, then 75, then 50, then 25 expertise which certainly adds the amount of time it takes to just add 2000. And that's moving the slider all the way to the right each time. Very strange. This is on a native to tribble character.
