Tribble is being brought down for maintenance to update it to build ST.47.20141230a.4.
New Features:
Captain Specialization Tree: Command Officer
The Command Officer Specialization is the first expansion to the Specialization system and focuses on the concept of coordination and communication pertaining to combat on both ground and space.
This is a Primary Specialization and cannot be activated at the same time as the existing Intelligence Officer Specialization.
The cap on Captain Specialization Points has been increased from 60 to 90 to accommodate this new specialization.
This is a work in progress and all powers are subject to change.
There will be a blog in the near future with more information on this new Specialization option.
Bridge Officer Specialization: Command Officer
These new abilities focus on tactical and strategic maneuvers in combat.
The availability of new Bridge Officers that have Command Officer training will be limited.
Players will need to advance in the Command Officer Captain Specialization in order to train their existing Bridge Officers to make use of Command Officer abilities.
The new powers include 10 new Ground abilities and 10 new Space abilities for Bridge Officers.
This is a work in progress and all powers are subject to change.
There will be a blog in the near future with more information on this new Bridge Officer Specialization option.
Bridge Officer Training Revamp
The Bridge Officer Training system has been overhauled to allow more customization for the powers of captains Bridge Officers.
Players will no longer need to consume another Bridge Officer to give another officer a power and instead will use Training Manuals and spend Expertise Points.
Each rank of each power will have its own Training Manual.
Most Training Manuals can be purchased off of any current Bridge Officer Training Officer and will include any power which is currently available on these trainers.
Training Manuals for high end powers can be crafted in the new Research and Development School: Officer Training.
Any Bridge Officer can now be trained in Specializations such as the current Intelligence Specialization as well as the new Command Specialization.
This will also apply to all future Specializations.
The UI for both the Abilities and Stations screens have had a huge overhaul for this new training system.
The Romulan Mystery episode arc has been updated to deliver higher quality of content as well as link this arc to the events which occur within Legacy of Romulus.
The new Episodes to the Romulan Mystery Arc include:
Empress Sela: A completely brand new episode.
Desperate Measures: This is a combination of the previous missions By Any Means and S'harien's Swords
Shadow Play: A completely brand new episode.
Taris: This is a combination of story elements of Ground Zero, the original Taris, and takes into account the events in Revelations.
Episodes which have been removed are:
Under the Cover of Night
Minefield
Divide et Impera
Saturdays Child
Preemptive Strike
Hunting the Hunters
Project Nightingale
Ground Zero
Ghost Ship
Friend of My Enemy
Trapped
The Romulan Featured Series chain starting with The Vault and ending with Darkness Before the Dawn remains unchanged.
Players who have already completed the original Romulan Mystery Arc will not be required to play the 4 new missions.
Additionally, players who have already completed this arc will have instant access to play the 4 new missions.
There will be a blog in the near future with more information on the revamp of the Romulan Mystery series.
Secondary Deflectors
There are three base types of Secondary Deflectors:
A KLG Symbol has been added to the rug for the Klingon Embassy unlock project Added Elegance.
The Jenolan Sphere Doorway now shows deep space outside.
Resolved an issue which caused large seams in the ground on the Order Bridge.
Feet no longer clip into the rug around the Dabo table on Risa.
Resolved an issue causing a patch of ground to look incorrect on QoNos.
Added buttons to select all/select none on the Fleet Duty Officer donation screen.
Systems:
Delta Reputation:
Resolved an issue with White/Common Intel Modules, where they were purchasable with only 7 points spent in the Intelligence Specialization.
This cannot be used until 8 points are spent in the Intelligence Specialization.
All Intel kit Modules have been removed from The Delta Reputation store, and are instead now available from The Dilithium store without needing to unlock them.
The prices on White, Green, and Blue Intel Kit Modules have been reduced by 25%, 20% and 10% respectively.
The Aegis Set pieces have had their Bind Rules updated to Bind on Equip to Account.
This change will affect any newly created Aegis Set gear and brings the Bind Rules in line with the other High End Crafting Gear.
Resolved an issue that was causing the primary fire of Full Auto Rifles to have higher than intended DPS output.
Players that own the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier can now reclaim the Resonant Dissipation Matrix console from the reclaim store.
Upgrading the Multi-Vector Advanced Escort to T5U will now allow it to upgrade the Fleet Advanced Escort to T5U and vice versa.

Resolved an issue which blocked progression for the mission Knowledge is Key in the Defera Invasion.
Increased the success rewards by 150% and increased the fail rewards by 250% for Mine Trap.

Hmm, a lot of missions removed. Experience points need to be fixed. The Xp amounts are still terrible.
Also, costume issues.
Current Caitian and Ferasan issues
These bugs have been found by me or reported by other users.
Caitians and Ferasans cannot use feline hands with club wear.
Cats cannot use tails with Delta Rep armor.
Winter hats do not allow female cats to use the slit eye option.
Cats cannot use the Risian sunglasses.
Ferasan heads clip with the Honor Guard fur shoulders while using the stern stance.
Box to change face patterns does not always show up. (Only happening on Caitians at the moment.)
Winter hats cause Ferasans to lose their fangs, whiskers, and eyebrows. Also, it gives them the choice of fur colors such as brown, which is for Caitians only.
Ferasan tails clip with Honor Guard capes.

I'm liking the looks of this patch, can't wait to get into tribble and have a look.
I am however struggling to decide which is my favourite part, the addition of secondary deflectors to science ships or the add all option for fleet doffs (may mouse button and my sanity will be thanking the dev's forever for this addition).
Looking forward to trying the new episodes as well, although with all the episodes listed as being removed it feels like a reduction in the amount of overall story content (obviously this is just a view at the moment without having been able to actual try the new content).

Not the kind of Dev response one usually looks for, but nice to see you back Borticus.

It's a shame "Ghost Ship" didn't make the cut; in addition to giving it a more Romulan slant, it could've been a really good spooky episode now with what they've been able to achieve with their other episodes in more recent updates.

Are those 11 Romulan missions coming back? I really enjoyed playing those, and still repeat them from time to time. If they are still being remastered, great, but if they are gone for good then that is terribly unfortunate.
Thank you for the T6 Galaxy Class. - I support Tovan Khev. - Please bring back the exploration missions.
Hmmmmm. I am of two minds about the removal of the Romulan Arc episodes. Whilst the episodes were old (and Divide et Impera was extremely problematc), that's a fair amount of content being removed, even if a few new/merged episodes are being added.
One of STO's strengths/selling point for Trek fans are its episodes. This is the content that new players first play and determines whether or not they will keep playing. To do away with a chunk of this content doesn't seem a good idea, especially given the challenges Cryptic faces in generating sufficient levels of (non grind) story content to keep players engaged.

That usually means They reset it.

Not really, patches that size are common for semi-big releases.
They didn't wipe it, all the characters are still there.
Or that they applied a huge patch. A reset would mean that you would need to download everything again and that would be a lot more data.

What I wouldn't give to see the return of Gein.
Tribble is not currently restricted to Gold only. All players can access it.

Well, it is up right now haha
But character copy is broken, and I just deleted all my characters earlier because I had way too many.
Cheers,

(Aka Captain Felczer of the U.S.S Avenger)
But in either case, this is just a usual semi-big update, which we get every now and then.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
thanks for the response! ill be sure to lend my 6 year sto experience to the cause. hope the new boffs and powers are as good as the last ones! haha

I'd suggest Cryptic reconsider on removing these.
I know this is a minor thing but thank you for doing this, it has been driving my batty and I just haven't said anything about it.
Let us upgrade the Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa and Kri'stak Blade
As a result of adding new Specializations, will there be a free "respec" of the points already spent?
No because they raised the Cap.
