I think cryptic blew a great money making opportunity. I would have gladly paid 500 zen to ignore the troll balls.

How so? They are giving you a device that allows you to be completely immune to the dance effect for gpl (if I am not mistaken). Are you saying you would have rather spend zen on it? That would be unfair to the people who desire this device since the amp doesn't require zen to get.

the amp could've been zen too, as many other people have said prior...i've seen the amount used since its introduction last year - imagine how much cryptic could've made if it HAD cost zen?

and then throw in the counter as well...they would've been in the black for the next 20 years!

I wouldn't have an issue with that as long as it was an account wide unlock for both items. I still would have gotten myself the amp. I love that thing. :D

I just fiddled around with it on tribble.

Works as advertised. Cost is 100gpl.

Though the party amps are still consumed on use. : /

Since the nullifiers are nonconsumable the amps should be as well. Hopefully that will be changed.

I don't think there is really a reason to change it... it's basically a one-time buy per toon for an opt out for just them. That's fine. No need to make it consumable.

That wasn't my point. The nullifiers are fine in my opinion. I just would prefer if the amps were the same, a nonconsumable item.

    - A poster lashes out at a random player, calling them a "troll" when the latter simply stated he didn't understand the problem with disco balls.

    - A poster states that disco balls should still be completely eliminated from the game, because it's not enough to opt out of one's own emote, he wants to force it on others.

    - A poster makes a bunch of one-line, condescending posts or a sarcastic, condescending post (like a drinking game) because s/he has nothing of worth or value to add to the discussion at hand.

I think you need to take two drinks for your post, as it clearly falls within the category of number 3 on your own list.

As mentioned, it's a pretty :rolleyes: one-sided game, considering that the majority of hostile posts on this thread are not from whatever fleet you're trying to imply without falling into the naming and shaming trap. Nor are they pro-disco people, who, have said in this thread that while they don't see a problem with the disco ball, they also aren't against the opt-out. Everyone seems to be ok with it, it's the people tossing around "troll" that are flaming their own celebratory thread.

I just fixed a few rules to your flawed game.:rolleyes:
The fallacy of your reply is encapsulated in your final sentence: it's not MY game. I didnt post it. I just noticed the flaw in your reply to that poster, is all.

i love them though, just wonder why there where a trillion people yelling about it :S

(note: i think it is actually a tractor beam class, "Apollo's hand")

they seriously need more TOS like stuff in here for real, they have added some, but it was the focal points that shaped what came after, and the hand did by Spock's readings, claim to be pure energy

omgawd, that is Apollo's hand, isn't it!? Totally reminded me of both the original episode, and the sequel from Phase 2. Yup, definitely a tractor beam class attack. Apollo would've fit in well on Risa.

As for ToS, we did get the uniforms, bridges, and even quite a few time travelling missions to enjoy. Scotty, McCoy, and Spock each had cameos. That said, I would've enjoyed Era specific end-game content, so that one could have a satisfying experience in ToS, TMP, TNG, or beyond. That, or satisfying end game ships for lovers of those eras, but alas Cryptic and CBS put the kaibash on that. One must settle for RP and/or underpowered ships. :(

As for complaints about disco balls: some people would hate them no matter what, but the problem was made worse by others who insisted on fanning the flames. It's one thing to spam them in a single place known for craziness (Drozana), or to deploy one at the request of those nearby. It's quite another to chase down people enjoying their own social gatherings elsewhere (Bajor, DS9, ESD, Risa, Nimbus, etc) with the intent of teaching them a lesson in how to party.

Ever since I joined STO, the biggest annoyance is all those people who throw down party bombs making everyone dance like they have problems. None of my characters would ever dance, and it always annoyed me that these dance bombs were utilised in popular areas (contraband kitty, shipyards, etc) and there was no counter.

Now there is FINALLY a way to opt out, a few hours (most likely) grinding that slow dabo minigame and I will finally be free of this menace.

If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.

51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.

The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.

Want a Star Trek themed starship command fan-made Board Game that isn't fiendishly complicated but not so easy it's a joke? Download mine for free here. https://roebot56.deviantart.com/art/BOARD-GAME-R56-s-Starship-Command-STAR-TREK-Edn-682732468 A Stargate version of the game is available from a link in the description.

Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.

Now all we need to make the game's social areas truly social again is a deactivation of kit powers, fire extinguishers, party poppers and other annoying troll tools. This is a first step in the right direction.

I hope it'll not only override the dancing animation (the least annoying part of the disco ball) but also what passes for music coming from it and the light effects liable to make you go blind.

Also, just putting this out here: doing away with explosions on social maps that shake the map for everyone would be a big help towards making these areas more fun.

It's not like there's a viable alternative to places such as Drozana, since everyone needs bank, exchange, mail and NPC vendor access regularly.

They should of named these Party Poopers instead!

I actually think the disco balls already have an appropriate name... no need to change them.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.
