As for game announcement... HL2 Episode 3 would be the only one of epic proportions, all else would pale in comparison. but epic to cryptic is just good for most any other game company. I am looking forward to Cryptics "epic" good news.

We have listened to player feedback and decided to revamp the economy. We are only doing this to consolidate the amount of currencies. Dil and Ec will now take up inventory slots in stacks of 100. If you're inventory is full after the conversion, the rest of the currency is discarded.
Do compensate you might get a special boff or not. Just remember the TOS, all service subject to change by PWE/cryptic.

*Lack of cortical function caused by death does not revoke ARC's access. Your zombified remains will continue to walk around, controlled by our helpful customer service department until the end of the agreed upon period**.
**Agreed upon period, and level of control granted to PWE's customer service department regardless of player's degree of not deadness, can be changed at any time, with no notification, at PWE's discretion.

Geko talked about KDF update, I am not sure if a timeline was mentioned, but I thought it was hoped to be before New Years.
As far as me, my kdf ships are in mothballs. All the content for kdf can't change the fact that the captains of the great empire are still rep tier 0 and I am not starting over, even at half price. But I would like to see my friends that are dedicated to kdf to get something long overdue.
Also end the war between KDF and FED!!!! It is stupid, I spend more time fighting with KDF ships than fighting against them. The two faction system has failed, just get over it, and let us team up across factions at VA or at the next skill increase.

The news will be that Season 8 is to be renamed "The Land Before Time" with Season 9 "Dinotopia" to follow. Season 10 will further expand on mythology and fantasy and introduce Vampires, Werewolves and Dragons (genetically modified Dinosaurs) into the game. We'll eventually learn that the Preservers are the Elves from LoTR, and that the Iconian are being controlled by Sauron.

the epic new is the the beta testing of the sto mmo we have all been tryin since it went f2p is now over and season 8 is really the launch of the new sto mmo with all factions complete with independant missions and no cross over story plot, all bug have been fixed.
we would like to thankyou while we delete your progress and fleets and swap you to the real server for you to restart with grinding the parts to build your ships, armour and weapons.

Wasn't there talk of Bob Orci meeting CBS about a new Trek series? If that's true maybe Cryptic has some sort of deal concerning that.
Yes there was a meeting. From what I've read it was more a talk about what was possible and who had the rights to do what under the agreement between Paramount and CBS. If there are ongoing talks to do a new TV show it's highly unlikely (in my mind impossible) that Cryptic would be in a position to release content related to it and even less likely that Cryptic would be the ones breaking the news.

What causes me to pause when I see posts of that nature, is how silly it makes the posters appear.
It's like when something form the new Trek Universe appears before their eyes, they immediately become enraged, mindless zombies with the same mantra coming from their mouths over and over...

What I don't get, is how they can instantly assume that anything JJ related added to the game, is going to completely ruin their enjoyment of THE REST of the game.... ??
I don't like PvP, but I don't feel that it ruins my experience of STO because it's a part of the game.
I don't really care for the Klingon side of the game, but again, it doesn't give me a brain-TRIBBLE because it's there.
If ya don't like that part of it then don't try it, but completely leaving the game because of it, seems a bit excessive.
Now, ARC on the other hand....
